  1. All European Fords have a diesel option and it's far more popular than gasoline, so, it's more like the other way around - a gasoline option. Big Transits or other commercial trucks are not available with gasoline engine option at all.
  2. The high roof has to come back. The sales of TC has dropped to almost zero here whereas the old one sold like crazy. I have a hunch that the roof has smth to do with it. What good is the floorspace for two fully laden pallets if you can't load it with a forklift.
  3. The mount is asymmetrical and bends inwards before the tailpipe.
  4. Kurt Vonnegut wrote about it. It was a Pontiac plant tho.
  5. http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/2694-transit-connect-doors/
  6. Are you sure it was Transit Connect not Transit Custom?
  7. IIRC, the center caps attach to the wheel nuts, each one individually, not to any other tabs. I'll check when (and if) I find them.
  8. I'm not sure how the model years are expressed but the rack and van pictured in the ebay link are Gen1. Gen1 machines are pretty much identical, except engine/transmission and some lights (side markers and roof mounted brake light). Gen2 are more similar with a matching 1.6 Ecoboost and auto transmission which is now available here as well.
  9. For fume extraction you need smth like this: http://www.vanbitz.co.uk/Low-Profile-Rotating-Van-Roof-Ventilator-2527/006-%28Black%29-2527/007-%28white%29/147.htm Insulating the bulkhead is not a solution.
  10. Those were standard in euro-TCs, including mine. I still have a set, lost somewhere, haven't seen them for years.
  11. Exactly. Just got back from a 300 mile day trip and spent the way back thinking of future mods. This is an 8 1/2 y old van. Never get tired of it.
  12. Oh, an update. He picked another color, which was available immediately:
  13. The manual transmission in TC is actually fun to drive, nippy and responsive. Excellent gearing for town driving in diesel model. This comes from an auto guy.
  14. Thanks, yes I did. I have kept in in perfect shape, no point of selling it. Need to haul dirty stuff around every once in a while, snow blower, lawn mower, gardening stuff etc.
  15. I agree, I've just gotten a 30K mile 2012 5-seater instead of the new one.
  16. Try UK forum, I don't think the US ever got crank windows.
  17. How long would they stay on? Have an aux alarm with followmehome lights enabled?
  18. Yes, it gets hot and if your pollen filter is stuck it is unable to cool itself and overloads in general. Do your blow direction flaps work normally and the air passes everywhere you switch it?
  19. Sounds a lot like connector problem if it started working again. The connector and resistor pack are behind the glove box. A bit difficult to work on but doable.
  20. I have also experienced the same problem when the plug going into the resistor pack had melted due to heat from the overloaded connectors (I suggest you replace the pollen filter in time). So, I bought the resistor pack and eventually did not have to replace it. Fixed the plug.
  21. You're good if you have an open cabin, with a bulkhead it's a squeeze.
  22. The DRL in Europe in new cars works as follows. Daylight: LED fronts on, all other off Twilight/Dark: Low beam auto on, tails on.
