1.6 Ecoboost van, 90% ready to pull the trigger
mrtn replied to mrtn's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Took a 2 hour trip in almost 4 hours: -
Mine's a cargo van as well. It is a bit firm compared to an old sedan with bias ply tires but exactly like any other compact to mid size car/SUV today. I say you try soft tires.
-
16" wheels and soft wall tires. No other cheap mods, I'm aftraid. Doesn't feel too firm to me at all.
-
Which bike? How does it fit?
-
For such a new car I would only check the air filter before taking it in together with Ford's own brochure and fuelly printout of other drivers' averages.
-
I need to do this. I bought the single heated seatless car in the whole country.

As my profile info says: 1.6 Ecoboost. The 2.5 litre Mazda four-banger is not available in Europe. The 2.5 in Focus is a 5-cylinder from Volvo. -
The shared Focus platform only covers Gen1 on both sides.
-
Wouldn't know, snow tires are mandatory here from Dec1 to March 31.

Just did 200+ miles of highway towing (60 mph, trailer + 600 lbs load, half way with just the trailer), averaged 17.6 mpg. -
This is my ski box but whose car is that???

There are plenty of compact 12V pumps available.

Get an inflatable mat. You can stuff it anywhere when not in use. A soft enough foam mattress is way too thick.
-
You don't really need a store front in the internet era, just a nice webshop plus your outdoor activities.
-
Is that a heatpress there? I'm in sign supply business, heat presses and thermotransfer vinyl is a big part of it. The TC should be great for this kind of activities. Have you planned a wrap and signage already?

I am not sure about injectors. There have been different injector systems throughout the years, Siemens, Delphi and Bosch. The 75 and 90 hp are just injector map difference. I think the most powerful one has VNT turbo. I know that the later models need some modification for EGR blanking, TDDi is dumb and can be blanked with the €2 plate. You can get plenty of diesel info in facebook group "transit connec'ed".
-
It's TDCi, the "new" type. TDDi is the old type and was discontinued in 2006. It's considered the most durable one. The power options are defined by ECU mapping and turbo variants, yes.

Considering a used Electric Transit Connect

You would be the first TC EV owner here AFAIK.
