  1. I thought all drums had inspection holes. Never thought of checking mine on the Connect.
  2. Minor mount fabrication needed for anything you find. No direct replacement even in Ford lineup.
  3. Damn, writing your own orbituary already? :D
  4. There’s a mesh cage with a full height door for the old shape. Isn’t there one for the new one?
  5. If this is the same 1.5 liter Euro6 diesel engine that’s been available in Europe for the past couple of years then it’s run in already, 9 out of 10 Connects sold in Europe are equipped with this unit.
  6. My late Taurus would not shift out of park if two of the three brake lights were out.
  7. I'm in Europe, I bought it in this configuration. I think I mentioned in another thread that you can order a LHD version from Germany or any other LHD European country as UK has it in the wrong (they claim it to be the correct) side.
  8. I would love to find RWL tires but there are less and less available as time goes on.
  9. Did you paint the letters yourself?
  10. I have this crazy flat passenger seat. It’s not very comfortable for sitting for long periods of time as the padding is thin. The seat base also flips up fully so there’s an empty space in place of the seat.
  11. Avoid square bars. Had a pair in one of my cars, there was always some humming.
  12. I don't know, I'm just following your discoveries.
  13. Is this for the old shape? Weird that it would break. I climbed on mine twice a day for a decade and it never failed.
  14. Found a warning on Forscan site that some ELM327 clones are not manufactured to specs and miss some features. Read up. Regarding acceleration: no, as the butterfly does not move and there’s no extra oxygen available the car cannot accelerate. The injectors may squirt some extra fuel for a split second but it has no effect as the fuel mixture is way off. One thing to analyze as well.
  15. I guess ELM327 + Forscan is the tool of choice usually.
  16. I thought the TPS is integrated in the accel pedal itself as it is in the diesel models in Europe. It's known to fail occasionally.
  17. Throttle position sensor would not throw an error code as any reading within the accepted range is good. It may not be good in relation to real life condition but mathematically it’s sound.
  18. I have seen this happen with a bad throttle position sensor/wiring/connection. The computer gets a reading of a pedal fully depressed and reacts by kicking down two or more gears. Then self correcting again. You can search for Focus codes as the Connects have the same drivetrain.
  19. Oh yes, The Butt-O-Meter (tm) is the precisest of instruments.
  20. I have a similar Thule roof box and I cannot find any use for it. I am keeping it outside, perhaps someone else needs it more than I do.
  21. Any maintenance free complicated mechanical device operating under great stress is oxymoron.
