  1. There's a guy in the transit connect'ed facebook group who does these conversions for a living. Perhaps he's willing to share the information.
  2. The shortages of anything caused by early 2020 shutdowns are global now. There's NOTHING worth anything in stocks. Manufacturers suffer from shortages as we do.
  3. The best result comes from upgrading the speakers and seriously sound insulating door frame/outer sheet. This will make the biggest difference without providing you with any increase in sound volume. There's no point of doing it without insulation. Adding an amp will make major difference, adding punch to the upgraded speakers. The 130 mm OEM size will put a limit to the sound level and bass response. This is where an underseat sub comes in. And so on.
  4. I think we need to install ground switches like in the old days.
  5. Nope, the upper dash display is combined with a different type of head unit (SYNC).
  6. No. The only wiring in the back is for speakers, antenna and power.
  7. Gen1 TC is absolutely brilliant in snow (better than Gen2) with proper snow tires, even better than many 4WD SUV. So it's definitely the correct tires you're missing. Note that All Season and All Climate tires are not actual snow tires even if they have all the markings, including 3PMSF, they're almost equally bad.
  8. I wonder if any of Gen2 conversions have worked out. There have been couple in this forum.
  9. Excellent offer, thanks. I'm trying to limit my intercontinental travel tho, not safe.
  10. We have had mirror defrosters since the beginning of times over here and there has never been a separate indicator for them, in any car. Mostly it's just the rear window defroster light (as they're always combined) even in cars that don't have rear windows (such as my cargo vans), sometimes the button has two icons - rear window square + mirror but the dahsboard light only has the rear window.
  11. Liability insurance: €11/mo Voluntary full coverage: €35/mo
  12. Damn that's a nice house Other than that, you can order a matching 2DIN fascia plate from Aliexpress and fit which ever head unit you like. The gear ratio is lower due to the van origin, it needs to be driveable fully loaded and/or towing a trailer.
  13. You'll need a good pair of xenon projectors, avoid cheap crap, get proper ones. Depending on your region you might need headlight washers and automatic level adjusters. Switchback DRL/turn signal would also be nice.
  14. The new Caddy is now on the market. Gives you an idea what's to come. Grab your original Ford while the stocks last. BTW: the Caddy ad looks to have been shot in Estonia (most of it in my home town), just like the ad for ID3, they probably fell in love with some places over here and came back. You'll recognize them, very specific. There's a tunnel scene in the beginning of the ID3 ad, it's 6 minutes from my house. The road was closed for 15 minutes when they shot it, I made a couple of spy shots when waiting to pass.
  15. You never know, Japan just got it.
  16. 1) paper dispenser 2) glove/cap rack 3) hi-viz vest (mandatory over here) rack 4) (dashboard) wet wipe rack 5) also houses my "CARGO LOADING" sign and parking clock Useful stuff.
  17. Well, ordered another one. A white LWB, almost fully loaded. The only option missing is keyless go. Or panorama roof which is only available for SWB. New stuff that was not in either previous ones: 230V socket, rear glass hatch, full center console with storage, front/rear A/C, HUD (kills the instrument cluster top storage), built-in 3D navigation, front parking sensors and reverse camera, wireless charging, auto high beam, driver alert system, ACC. Should arrive soon.
  18. Turning the ignition off to ACC position does not lock the steering wheel in any car, AFAIK.
