  2. All I did was buy a cruise control steering wheel, take off the base model steering wheel and install the new one. Then I turned on the Adaptive Speed Control and Cruise Control options via Forscan. All the needed plugs were already present inside when you get the airbag off.

  3. Installing a better Ford head unit (SYNC 1) would be very complicated and expensive. This assumes you want all the factory functions. It's much easier and cheaper to install an aftermarket head unit and backup camera. Some would say this is better than OEM since the head unit can have many features.

  4. I upgraded my OEM steering wheel with cruise to a leather wheel with radio controls. I sold my OEM wheel to someone here on the forum who did exactly what you're wanting to do - Add OEM cruise. He did it, so I'm sure it can be done. Search here for his discussion and you should learn all you need to know Don

  5. Thank you for the advice. Sorry if I missed the threads about this... I swear I did plenty of searches. Anyhow, I finally was able to figure out the mounting bracket that Crutchfield gave me with my 6.5" Rockfords and I decided to clip the harness (even though Metra emailed me the correct item# 72-5602). Also, I added some dynamat to the door but I read that only covering 25-40% of the inside of your door gives you the best results. Not sure what the reasoning is behind that. But I put about a piece above the door brace and one below. I watched plenty of soldering videos and I think I am ready to go. I'll give it a shot today. Thanks again.
