  1. How many dealerships are in your area? Any dealer service bay could take your van for warranty service. If possible, try another dealership.
  2. Pretty cool. I need something like that. So my dates can hang out the window when they drink too much.

  4. On the newer models, the wipers can be reset through the body control module. A little computer programming.
  5. Never what they sell you on at franchise trade shows. Franchise concept makes great money for corporate. The franchisee has to buy everything from corporate. Look at McDonalds. You buy the entire restaurant from the corporate office. Then everything, from cleaning chemicals, to napkins, to little ketchup packets, to the employee uniforms.....are ordered from corporate. Yet, people do it. I think the worst arrangements are things like Amazon and FedEx delivery routes. But that only shows my ignorance. There are probably people who lose a lot more with Merry Maids. Probably tons of other franchise opportunities which don't work out as well either.
  6. So you had the van front up in the air, instead of level?
  7. I still go to a tire shop to use their equipment. Most tire shops have a pump available for customers. I know it doesn't make a difference, but they have nitrogen. The tire shop machine is easy to set the PSI, then stops at the PSI. I don't have to pump, then check, then let air out, then check again, then pump some more....... I'm too lazy to set up my air compressor, turn it on, wait for it to air up and build up pressure, then release the air pressure and put it away with the accessories. I'm just lazy. According to my records, I bought that little device 2 years ago. It still works. I've gotten my money's worth.
  8. I bought that thing a few years ago. Now there's a listing for 2 units, at the same price. "turn the key to 'on', then press the hazard lamp switch 6 times" on-off-on-off-on-off....... I just did it this afternoon. I rotated the tires, and had to reset the TPMS. It allows me to use FORScan to read the PSI in each tire.
  9. The cheap trigger tools work fine.

    I'm New Here

With any luck, you might find some helpful people when you have a question. Good to have you aboard.
  11. That's business. I could sell the best burgers. Made with the best beef and only fresh ingredients. And make pretty good money. Or I open a McDonald's franchise, sell Big Macs, and make twice as much. The value in paying the franchise fee. Volume from a recognized name, nationwide ad campaigns, and you get everything supplied by the chain at a much lower price. If you could make $1,000,000 on your own, would you pay 10% off the top to make $2,000,000?
  12. I replaced my 97 Explorer with the Transit Connect. A lot of give & take. Apples to oranges. The 97 had a 5.0 engine and All Wheel Drive. It was a completely different car than the modern Explorer.
  13. You'll find out when you lock your keys in the car. On the bottom. It allows all the fluid to drain. That's the position on the Gen 2 transmission. Problem is that you need to have the car on a lift, or jacked up on 4 jack stands. You could put it in the rear, closer to the passenger. Then you jack up the front tire on the driver side, and in theory. all the fluid will go to that corner. But I would put it on the bottom.
  14. You could go cheap and simple. Battery to a circuit breaker, to a small fuse block. A 50A circuit breaker will be fine for a small block supplying 10A to 20A accessories.
  15. Look inside of the driver side door jamb and under the hood. Look for the stickers. Most of what you need to know will be there.
  16. It doesn't matter. You have a used car over 10 years old. You will not be able to race it. Keep it maintained. You are saving money.
  17. In case rallybag is still paying attention....... most race car builders upgrade the cooling system because they have upgraded performance engines. Follow the flow. Start with a lower temperature thermostat. Some engines will delete the pulley driven water pump and replace it with an electric water pump. Backing the custom radiator are high CFM electric fans set to operate at different temperatures, with seperate thermostatic switches taking readings from the inlet and the outlet of the radiator. Depending on what you're building the car for, you need to take other metrics into consideration. If you're only running 1/4 mile, and you're looking to cover it in less than 9 seconds at over 200 mph.......how are you going to do that in a Transit Connect?
  18. Install one. Buy a fuse panel install kit, run a wire from the battery, and mount it in the same place. P/N 30004 Weatherproof Universal Style Pre-Wired 20 Circuit Fuse Block
  19. Oh no. Now your entire door is going to fly off.
