Not yet on the leak Windguy has and he posted a copy of the work order from the dealer with the parts used and the SSM bulletin number . His post is on page 4 of this topic . The issue I found was a missing piece of the right duct to the rear seat which was allowing the air both hot and cold to empty out in the console area. Is the Ac button engaged when this happens. If it is not engaged then the air will be at the temp of the air entering the vent which could pick up some engine heat. When the AC button is on then the air will be cold .

I think the Recirc is more to help the Air Conditioner cool the car fast this could explain why it is disabled in defrost mode.

Rear Heating Problems, 2014 Transit Connect LWB Titanium
G B L replied to mrgone's topic in Climate Control
The console is the same the E brake is in the floor console section If you look at the parts diagram all the duct-work is under the carpet the only things visible are the last two pieces in the parts diagram part number 01454. These vents are only visible where they come up through the rug. If there is an air leak it will definitely be at the joint where the carpet goes under the console cover. If the work van does not have the under seat vents then the heat outlet has to be blocked and if it is not air tight then the heat will spill out into the console. I was able to pull the plastic fastener and move it out enough to get the duct in ( insert pain and Swear words in at this point) As for my guess it could be the right ducts ran out and the car moved down the line.with out a notation , or it was a nice day and the Spaniard went to lunch. The air flow to the second row is now good and I am thinking of away to improve the heat delivery for the booster heater keep me posted on what you find out. -

Update Decided not to wait for a service appointment Ordered the duct from ford $5.42 Installed it today airflow to rear good now It also made the console temperature to moderate. I am wondering if the work vans have the heater vents under the seats -
I just have the radio with the Cd, go the sound controls and use the Balance and fade to check all the speakers and then set them in the middle of the range. Then see how the Volume is If the two radios are same the Tc has much more volume so you will need more Volume.

16945 on the clock, with the exception of a soon to be resolved heater air flow issue The car is in the Groove. The shift quality and fuel mileage are very good. The car definitely adapts to the driver. Hope it lasts Keep us posted on your experience as the miles go on

Rear Heating Problems, 2014 Transit Connect LWB Titanium
G B L replied to mrgone's topic in Climate Control
The temperature of the water going to the heater core is at engine temperature [200+degrees] hot enough to cause a severe burn!!! Found out why the right side rear heat is not as good as the left side rear heat the transition duct from the heater to the floor duct is missing so the hot air just ends up in the console area. This explains the lack of heat in the back on the right side. It also explains console area gets very hot. For you folks with work vans if the heater for the back heat is not correctly blocked, then the heat will dump in the console area when the heat setting is to the floor. You might check and see if you feel air blowing out around the edges of the console. That is how I found the location of the missing duct. Now I have to see what the dealer is going to do. I think that when the duct is correctly installed the rear heat in the TC will be fine, Just in time for winter in Crazy cold Vermont!! -

True, if you can take the heat for more than 6 seconds then it is less than 150 degrees -

I did more digging into the rear heat ducting . On my TC the air flow on the right rear heat duct is not as good as the Drivers side. I am going to find out the cause, The parts diagram shoes them to feed off the same source. The left duct feeds warm air to the intake for the rear heater fan which feeds the vents on the door posts and the third seat vents .The location of the fan intake is forward of the heat duct outlet. this is a problem for the heat getting into the rear distribution fan and the booster heater. Working on a solution for this One more thing the air filter on the Rear heater fan is on the floor and will need to be changed often. The rear fan is still loud . The duct routing is the reason for the area around the shifter becoming very warm. -

Every one needs to check under the front seats to make sure that the riser duct is correctly inserted into the front feed duct. This is critical for the heat generated in the front to exit under the front seat and heat the second seat floor. It also supplies the rearheater with warm air that is boosted. If these ducts are, not correct then the hot air is trapped under the rug! -
Right now the engine space for both the gen 1 and gen 2 will not take a V 6. If you look at the world wide power options for the Tc. The US power is at the top. I think a 2.0 turbocharged 4 would be the logical choice for a hi output option. Mine is a 7 passenger and I carry 500 lbs of tools in the back over the folded seat and the performance while not breath taking is more than adequate.

Good news on the trans leak. The motor will move on the mounts a noticeable amout, If the mounts are too stiff the driveline vibration will be very noticeable and the ride quality will suffer The shift quality on my tc Kept getting better up through 10,000 miles . keep us posted

This happened to me today. Switched on the rear wiper wash cycle. Looked in the mirror to watch, wipers worked but no fluid. Hit the switch again, still no water. Hit the front wipe and wash all normal! Look to the right and there is a drip at right front door where the windshield meets the roof. The hose is two piece and is joined there with a push fit hose splice up behind the curtain air bag. It might have not been pushed together fully . I have another theory. The washer hose plastic is very soft and with the warm weather softened and worked its way off. Any way it is now reconnected and tie wraped to prevent it from happening again. If I had not cycled the washer multiple times I woud hot have had the drip and the leak could have made a real mess of the headliner.

My hope is that the tight shifts are to protect the clutches. The computer gets alot of data that affects the shift quality. In times pasted the trans was Signaled by throttle position and engine vacuum. The Paddle shift is good fun, It gives good RPM to speed information. Just finished a 240 mile pull with my Trailer the Trans shifted well. Put some miles on the TC will get better!
