  1. Those were cool. They were marketed in Europe as LiteAce, never seen the TownAce variant in person. Other very similar Japanese vans were Nissan Vanette and Mitsubishi Delica. They were big in early 90s.
  2. It's not the load capability only, it's mostly the issue of too high center of gravity.
  3. The large display touch things are not that important anymore as the only thing you really need, is the Bluetooth connection and the rest runs from your smartphone - media player and navigation.
  4. Take it to the dealer and let warranty worry about that. Also, yours should have USB port so I strongly suggest you rip your CDs and put the mp3 on a thumb drive. You can have dozens of CDs on a tiny USB stick and not worry about mechanical devices fail or discs scratch.
  5. The Brits have been swapping Focus RS/AWD in the TC for a while already. Seems like there's interest ok.
  6. The shortage is really irregular. My months long daily search has been a regular failure. I was thinking there was a suitably configured model available somewhere, so far none. I need a LWB 120 hp turbodiesel with a rigid bulkhead with a pass-through loading door, barn doors and one sliding door in the rear (no glass), cruise control, radio with Bluetooth. That's it. Instead there is one with 120 hp and rear windows, no cruise control, or one with cruise control and blind boot but 95 hp. And so on.
  7. Well, be happy you still have regular turning knobs as these are slowly disappearing from the market. First a push button you would have to look at before pressing it, now touchscreens which are complete WTF, like we have to stop the car before using the HVAC controls. There's no muscle memory that can be used for touchscreens. My Toyota has a push button for the telephone screen, then there is a 6 x 20 mm "Speed Dial" virtual button on screen you have to hit while driving, it's the size of a vitamin capsule. Then, if and when you manage to hit it there are matchbox sized speed dial buttons for contact names. Well, hello. Don't get me started about voice controls
  8. Do the dash lights come back on when you reinsert the sensor plugs?
  9. Oh wait till I get back from the ATM!
  10. Do they work? If yes, only use them in case of a really thick fog. They're really bright, brighter than brake lights and blind others easily.
  11. Yes. The roof and nothing but the whole roof.
  12. The UK forum has gotten considerably quieter lately as most interaction is taking place in facebook. Looks like the error code is Ford-wide. Another model solution should work in your case as well.
  13. Doesn't it start anymore at all? You may have a broken reader coil around the key barrel. Mine flashes some code every once in a while (worn key/barrel) but always starts at the next try.
  14. Rear fogs. Probably not required in the US. Try pulling the light switch outwards when the lights are switched on and check.
  15. There should not be any problems with the swap if you have all the listed parts. $700 sounds really expensive for a used transmission. I bought mine (did a TC manual-Focus manual swap as mine was showing some wear at 250,000 km) for $180.
  16. Me too, that's why I need to think how to do it. Factory look all the way. I'm thinking of an energy chain to carry the cable under the top or bottom slider. I have the standard oval Ford 6000 CD (Fiesta/Focus/TC/Mondeo/Fusion), which they did not sell in the US: http://car-solutions.com/nfs/product/856529/file/6000cd_round.jpg Plenty for sale in ebay. You also need a matching oval adapter plate.
  17. Don't do it myself but follow a relevant topic in another forum.
  18. The rear brakes are a bit weak even when in specs. Had way too much brake jobs done, not too expensive tho.
  19. I think I need a reboot. You are correct, no Titanium in the van variant.
  20. Looks like we have Trend or Titanium. This one is Trend, so XL probably.
