  1. You have a good point Westy, but you just know what the result of that will be, The service manager will slam the door shut and then say "It seems to be working perfectly now,"
  2. I'm wondering if the squeaking is not the result of the door being slightly loose, allowing it to move around just enough to rub the plastic part. Is there anyway to tighten up the fit?
  3. Rear seats are offered here quite often. I've never seen anyone selling the windows.

Same size but tire specs are considerably different. Your Taurus is not rated to carry 1600 pounds.

I'm glad you've got it figured out. On my 2010 the recommended front pressure is absolutely 36 PSI. Maybe they increased it since then.

Ray: I wouldn't doubt for a minute that the dealership inflated all your tires wrong. Too much effort to actually look at the label! As you've probably gathered here, the rear sensors seem to trigger at about 40 PSI. The high pressures specified are because of the high payload capability. If you are not carrying a lot of weight you might be okay to reduce the rear pressure to 43 or 44 PSI. The warning light will not trigger at those pressures. I'd keep the front at the recommended 36 PSI though.

    Hello and welcome.
  8. In most standard transmissions, the back-up lights are controlled by a simple switch activated by the gear lever. Your switch is probably slightly out of position breaking contact when pressure is released on the lever. Should be easy to fix.
  9. I think I would have walked away, Chik. I don't mess with crazy people, especially if the van belongs to my employer.
  10. Yeah see, that's the thing. You can mess with a hose all day, but the water is probably blowing in some weird way. It could even be from the bottom while underway. Very difficult to reproduce.
  11. Great for one person, but SIX !!! I think not. That screened pop-up top would certainly solve the ventilation problem.
  12. I'd say take it back Ray, but I wonder if they will be able to find the leak after its dried up. Good luck in any event.
  13. Cots are a good solution if one does not want to go the built-in route. Be careful though-some fit much better than others. There are past posts here by me and others on this topic. With two cots there is room for very little else except what will fit beneath them. With one cot there is ample room for the cooler, camp stove, simple bucket potty and such other gear. The biggest problem though is ventilation. It is also very difficult to control the temperature to anything reasonable. A couple of opening windows in the back would make all the difference.
  14. At first I did not like the obscured view through the back window either, but in time I came to appreciate it. It has become fashionable to have the brightest headlights possible and many drivers here also follow very closely, In these circumstances, the blocking provided by the split window is welcome. Once I became used to it, I have no problem determining if there is traffic behind me. It probably sounds strange to you now,but give it some time and you may change your mind as well.
  15. You raise a good point, Ray, but if you drive conservatively, you will beat the window sticker numbers by a fair margin.
  16. I don't recall where I got it but I've used 80 inches, 6 '8", as a reference. Easy to remember but if you can't (like me) put a sticker on the visor.

  18. Actually, anything that provides ample leg room feels comfortable to me. I find it helps on a very long trip to periodically change the seat height and the angle of the back. No one place is perfect for me, but the change always feels good.
  19. So that's the 6401, not the truck and van size, huh? excuse my asking but I didn't want to get the wrong ones.. Never mind, I see now that they have a fitment chart.
  20. MRTF: I think that is the "problem". Its fine for the U.S. government to establish standards. They have to do that, But they should also retain enough flexibility to be able say "Oh okay, close enough, that'll work."

    Hello All

Welcome to the forum. I don't know what is up with the nonsense posts as above but we seem to get a lot of them.
  22. Purly, I agree that this is a problem, but have not found a solution acceptable to me. I do not like the idea of punching a hole in the roof if it can be avoided. I have seen some sliding windows for the TC but they were super expensive even before installation was included. Please post up anything new you find. Willie
  23. I have had good luck with the Nokian Entyres, I posted about them before, but it seemed to upset some other forum members, so search for the older posts.
