When I grew up, if a car could do zero to sixty in eight or nine seconds that was pretty fast. Now its considered the same as being parked! Ha!
-
Correct. The faster you try to push it, the greater the drag factor becomes in fuel consumption.

Steve, it was the Appalachians of West Virginia. Not terribly high when compared to the Rockies, but still very scenic. Probably the Alps by Fort Wayne standards! Ha! My gas mileage is interesting. In the winter, the best I can do is 28 mpg, but in the Summer I can get 31 or rarely even a little better on a long trip. I put the difference down to the different seasonal formulations of gasoline available here, but that is only a guess. As I said, I do drive pretty conservatively, averaging probably 60-65 MPH. Climbing grades, I let the speed drop to forty or so, watching the tach and keeping the revs under 3000. Any faster and my gas consumption really climbs. I guess not everyone wants to drive that way, but I am in no huge hurry generally. If someone wants to pass, I try to give them every opportunity to do so, and fine by me.

Hi Steve! I just returned form a 1000 mile trip in my TransConn part of which was through the mountains. I really enjoy the large windshield while in such scenic areas. I averaged 31 MPG, by the way. Admittedly, I was driving conservatively.

So what is the story with these off-the-wall posts? Do they serve some purpose? We seem to be getting more and more all the time.

Seems like a good idea.

I always use a "jumbo" sunshade on the windshield. It provides both privacy and also works wonders on keeping the car cooler with that huge windshield. Just a regular "jumbo" from the Walmart or Kmart works perfectly. No need for any "custom" application. It stores perfectly in the overhead shelf too.

I made up some curtains for camping. Pretty crude, nothing fancy. I hold them up with suction cup hooks, but they are clumsy to use. I'm sure there are better methods being employed by others.

Very ingenious, Rich. It looks like a nice item for most any Connect owner. What is the retail price?

After-Market Sliding Windows
Willie replied to Miami-Ace's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lights, Mirrors, Window Tint & Wipers
That's the one I saw, okay. Thanks Westie. Certainly not inexpensive at $700 for just one window. Then you can add installation to that too. Gotta be a better option for ventilation. Anyone? -
I agree, Peabody. I have not looked for cracks but the thing does appear to be rather fragile. I think if my latch ever brakes it will be goodbye fuel door! Biggest complaint I have though is the filler being on the passenger side. It makes it hard to get into a line for a pump if the station is crowded because most cars have filler on the driver side.

See your private message.

Sent you a private mail. No, luck on your e-mail however.
-
Yeah. You have to be pretty careful about how you put them on or they will blow right off in the air stream.
-
Got ya covered. $20 plus shipping. If interested let me know via private mail and I will check mailing cost. It is so easy to loose those darn things!
-
Welcome. I'm sure you will gain a few ideas here.
-
I have two I'll sell you at that price. Send a private mail if interested.
-
Thanks for posting your results. Are you planning any gas mileage comparison?
-
Welcome. This forum is not terribly active but you will find some useful information here form time to time. Most of us seem quite happy with our Connects although a few have experienced problems, much like any other vehicle. If you have not already done so, I suggest you read some of the older posts.

Hello, and please ignore the nonsense above. There seems to be a rash of that on this forum at the moment. The British perspective is interesting to a lot of us here. Regarding fuel. I was recently in Kenya and was surprised to find that diesel was actually cheaper than petrol or gasoline.
-
Nice job. Did you do anything about ventilation?

I am not a business and use my TC for personal use. Still, a custom wrap could be pretty cool. I don't wish to be nosy, but I wonder what something like that would cos, in ballpark figures.
