  1. How did you do oil changes before? I did not purchase a set of ramps either. I just jack up the front end and use jack stands. I recently bought 4 UniJacks which are really nice. It allows you to safely raise and secure the vehicle at all the jack points, and you have the poor man's version of a lift.
  2. Some people, not I, believe that the OEM specs are perfect. Engineers spent many hours of research and development to find the exact size wheel and tire combination which works best for your car. So it would make sense that someone would want OEM specs on aftermarket wheels.
  3. Products are recalled every day, in the interest of public safety. Overreacting? In the case of the Explorer, you are correct. A vast majority of people never rolled over or had a tire failure. A lot of us, by the time that there was a recall, had already bought other tires. Some people actually check their air pressure and keep tires inflated. And some people did nothing, and still didn't have a blow out or rollover. I eat vegetables every day, despite the recalls over salmonella. Every glass of milk puts me one step closer to mad cow disease.
  4. You have to love politics. It makes the world entertaining. How did Putin win that last election by such a large margin?
  5. After looking around online, I have only found 1 wheel that is an exact fit. What have you guys found?
  6. In the USA, the closest thing that we have to royalty is The Burger King. Very few people here understand loyalty to royalty. I personally prefer The Colonel's chicken.
  7. Hash Tag Me Too! The only time I've ever heard of anyone advocating for inflating to maximum PSI is the hypermile fanatics. MythBusters confirmed that different tire pressure will effect cost per mile. My science is junk science and faulty at best. Since I did not park my car next the the air pump at the service station overnight, I never measure or adjust at cold PSI. I won't get to a filling station until some time during the afternoon. Any PSI I am measuring is hot, not cold. If I then add more air to 51 PSI, it will not be cold 51 PSI in the morning. When I get up before the sun comes up to go to work, I never check the tire pressure because I'm already running late. My whole life, I've never known what the cold PSI was in any vehicle in the morning. I hear that the difference between hot & cold PSI is about 4. Of course, that is also hearsay, a fact not in evidence, junk science, and fake news all rolled into one myth. Maybe with hot PSI at 51, I have cold PSI at 47.
  8. Harbor Freight does not have open stock sockets and wrenches. I broke a socket once. I let one of my friends put it on an impact gun, and it shattered. Of course, I didn't tell the store manager about the impact gun. "What do you mean how? It broke. I turned the handle, the socket broke. Isn't the corporate policy 'no questions asked'?" Store manager replaced the broken socket by giving me the $5 socket set that they sell. Okay with me, since I actually like that little $5 set. And somehow after selling those for about $5, for the last 20 years; the price has dropped to $4. Double click on above image to view full picture 40 Pc 3/8 in. Drive SAE & Metric Socket Set Pittsburgh®- Item#62843 (564) Write A Review A high quality, low price socket set that fits under your car seat Only: $4.00 Compare to $19.97, Kobalt 89809
  9. It says 51 on the sidewall of the tire. A lot of people warn against airing up the tires to maximum PSI. I've always air to maximum for on-road, decrease as needed off-road. Most people will tell you that the OEM knows what they are doing with the door jam sticker. That is suppose to be the best PSI for ride comfort, handling, and braking. But Ford was wrong about that with the Explorer. I had one of those Explorers. The sticker said 26 PSI - which is about the same amount of air as I put into a volleyball. Despite all the controversy, I never had a rollover or blowout.
  10. That is what I want to do also. Just another thing I never get around to doing.
  11. Maybe air pressure will help. I try to fill tires to 51 PSI. Although I don't check the air nearly as much as i should. An old habit of mine has always been to fill up tires to whatever it says on the sidewall, not the sticker on the door jamb.
  12. Just comfort yourself with the knowledge that you have The Royal Family, and the U.S.A. is Making America Great Again!
  13. A good place to mount auxiliary switches, USB power ports, whatever your heart desires......
  14. Huge difference. I use CA Reformulated Gasoline, which is a special blend of clean air additives, E-10, high price, & low mileage. With CA fuel, nobody gets the EPA estimate on the new car sticker. According to GasBuddy.com, Hawaii has the highest fuel price in the country. California is No. 2.
  15. Sounds like Transit Connect is working out for your needs. How do you like the fit & finish, ride comfort, et cetera? For me, the ride is bumpy, there is a lot of road noise, the air conditioning is weak, and the air conditioning is loud. The plus side is that the little engine is adequate for the vehicle, handling is better than driving a full size van or truck, parking is a dream compared to a full size van or truck, and it really does feel more like a car than commercial grade full size vans & trucks. For me, someone who is used to commercial vehicles, stripped down with no luxury accessories, the Transit Connect is a step up. But I suspect that people who are accustomed to all the bells & whistles will find Transit Connect lacking.
  16. Alcohol in fuel is a waste of alcohol. Alcohol is for drinking.
  17. I'm trying to remember who it was. A forum member installed a backup on his side door mirror, with a screen on the dashboard, because he said that he couldn't see well enough with the blindspot mirror.
