  1. That would probably depend on who you buy the partition from. Every manufacturer makes something just a little bit different.
  2. I always liked going down there for the Casinos in Laughlin, NV. I get a real kick out of The London Bridge at Lake Havasu.
  3. Flowerman, From looking at vehicle collision parts listing, it appears as if there are different plastic lower bumper covers. Just order the bumper cover with the foglights. You will get the holes already in place, along with the mounting tabs. Then buy the correct size fog light to mount in the OEM location. Set up a wire run from your battery, to a fuse, to a relay. You will be all set. 1 BUMPER ASY - FRONT. Bumper cover. w/fog lamps, primed. BT1Z17D957GA Left; OES Part #: 4F9Z15200AAOrRight; OES Part #: 4F9Z15200AA
  4. Here is a schematic which shows relocation of the spare tire, but shows nothing about the exhaust and suspension.
  5. That may give him a lifted look, and raise the van by an inch. But it really does not solve the problem of heavy load on his springs. Who is selling you the power lift? Is that company performing the installation? Does this company configure and sell entire vehicles? Most of the companies that build out wheelchair access vans for transport companies have schematics for installation which include workarounds for the exhaust, suspension, et cetera. Maybe ask the company selling you the device what they recommend for suspension. Or contact a couple of the coach builders who do custom conversions, and ask them what they do with Transit Connect conversions. 6. A lot of Transit Connect delivery vans in my area use a rooftop mounted refrigeration unit.
  7. On a 2016, you will not be able to buy anything over-the-counter. Custom fabrication will be necessary. 8. I believe that Transit Connect is the only cargo van to offer a liftgate option. I always preferred the barn doors. My Dad said that he wanted the liftgate since you never see them on cargo vans, and you can stand under it while it's raining. The old guy's wisdom proved true. Within the first few weeks of having the van, there was a big storm, and I stood under the liftgate. Kept me dry as I worked.
  9. It is slightly turbo charged........
  10. All new cars sold are now required to have the backup camera. My model year did not have the camera option. Just an AM/FM. That is all that it does. Literally, AM/FM. There is an auxiliary line in. You can plug in any audio device you want. For most people, with a modern smart phone, you can connect the phone head phone jack to the AM/FM auxiliary line in jack with a cable. This would allow you to control your music from your phone, and also play the audio from your phone call over the vehicle's speakers. You can play all the MP3 you want, with a MP3 player which broadcast to the AM/FM radio over an FM signal. Most of these players also connect to your phone's Bluetooth, which allows you to use your phone hands free. Most models will use a microSD card for loading music, and also offer USB ports, which will solve the problem of not having USB ports. These are very inexpensive and can easily be found on Amazon and eBay.
  11. The seat belt chime can be turned off. That's usually in the owners manual. The key in the ignition chime turns off when you remove the key.
  12. What is a "SWMBO"? Is that a "code" of some sort, used on a modern "hook up app"? When is expected delivery of your vehicle?
  13. The idea is to change the washer with every oil change. That being said, you could get away with using it again. Eventually, it will start to leak. With the "skid plate" on the bottom of the van, you won't see the oil on your driveway......you won't even know it's leaking......until the next time you do an oil change. I know some guys who swear that you can reuse those washers if you flip it everytime. I saw a Honda where the drain plug was stripped and rounded off, there was blue Loctite everywhere around the drain hole,. and the washer was smashed and deformed. Oil change every 3,000 miles since it was new.....always by the same shop. A shop!!! The owner of the shop actually told me that they started using Loctite because it was leaking, the drain plug was all beat up from them using air tools to try to get the plug on tighter to stop the leaking. Every time they used an air tool to tighten the drain plug, it smashed & deformed the washer even more. Of course, they had to use more torque to remove the drain plug at every oil change. This guy actually told me that they were applying 50 ft lbs of torque on the drain plug. Dude swears that they did everything so that the engine wouldn't leak oil. I believed him. Then I asked him why he didn't use a new washer at every oil change. He couldn't answer that. I got a new drain plug and washer. That car doesn't leak oil anymore. Buy a new washer with every oil change. They are $0.50.
  14. Nah.....just don't be afraid to drill holes, cut away pieces, weld, and don't look back. You will alter your van, and it will never be factory condition again. I know that some guys want to find ways to keep their vehicles as close to stock as possible. In which case, you will enjoy your vehicle as it came from the factory. Presently, I'm trying to decide which part of the dash to cut into for more USB outlets. I want install a 4 port USB outlet with a decora wallplate. It just messes with people's minds when they see an interior building outlet in a car.
  15. Yeah.....but not popular with the performance crowd. Transit Connect is everywhere in major metropolitan locations. Every large city is crowded with Transit Connects - all driven by employees. Most of these vans are bought by businesses. Also consider that there is no way possible to make this a fast car. So why even try? If you just want to make the van sound different, you could easily raise the van on a lift, cut out the OEM exhaust system from the catalytic converter on back, then install a glasspack muffler and add a shiny exhaust tip for bling. The Transit Connects equipped with wheel chair ramps have that big muffler in the rear removed. You get a little more sound.
  16. I installed a new OEM wiper on the driver side, and a Sears DieHard wiper on the passenger side. Now, it's time to wait for the winter storms to see how they turn out. The original OEM wipers, after 2 years, saw some streaking on the driver side and the passenger side falling apart. No science here. I randomly squirt washer fluid. Rain falls are not consistent. I park outside with full UV exposure. Installation was fairly easy for both. Sears wiper came with different adapters for different vehicles. Item # 02899890000 Model # DHB29
  17. How did the plugs look at 55,000 miles? Did you put the same plugs back into the engine, or replace them with new since you had them out?
  18. Don, That probably makes all the difference in the world. If the trim level has leather, it's probably insulated a lot better than what some of us are driving around in. Your seats are probably superior in ride comfort and ergonomic support. I have no room to complain. I knew from taking several test drives, that the van I was buying was not a Cadillac. I bought it anyway. I do wish that they would sell a "heavy duty" package. A little more power. More load capacity with the suspension. But then again......you could buy a Transit or F-150. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. Some cars, you end up disappointed after the purchase........like a 70's Mustang II, every model of Hyundai & Saturn, or 80's Chevy S10 Blazer. With this car, I fell like I'm getting return on investment. Nothing broke yet. Everything still works. It is doing everything which I expected to do with it. Did I ever mention that I'm still pissed at Ford about the Mustang II?
  19. Not just lift kits. You can't get an exhaust kit either.
  20. Coil spring spacers will change more than just your height. Alignment. Steering. Ride comfort....... I tried coil spring spacers on pickup trucks. I did not care for how it changed the angles on the suspension and drivetrain components. With pickup trucks, the better solution was a lift kit engineered to be vehicle specific. Since you are doing it, don't leave anything on the table. Go with a 48 mm lift.
  21. I wouldn't even bother with trying to upgrade a factory base level trim radio with an amp & speakers. Buy a nice stereo. Buy an installation kit. You will get a new dash trim piece, and all of the necessary wiring harness connectors so that it becomes a "plug & play" installation. Scosche FD6211DDB Dash Kit Fits select 2014-up Ford Transit Connect models without 4.3" screen and with removable factory airbag indicator light — double-DIN radios (Black)
  22. Really? You think a Transit Connect is quiet? I've driven noisy.....medium duty trucks, Jeeps with a soft top, motorcycle......and I've driven well insulated luxury cars built for comfort...... Transit Connect is just about as noisy as my pickup truck, minus the noise from MT tires & glasspack mufflers. Transit Connect is not insulated well enough. You can still hear a lot of noise. And the A/C system does not do a very good job with cooling such a large interior space with less than adequate insulation. Speaking of A/C, turn it up to 3 or 4, and tell me how quiet the car is. My grandmother is deaf. She doesn't notice. I get it. It's a commercial vehicle. And after years of "living" in commercial vehicles for 10+ hours a day, I know what to expect. But as for comfort, this is not a comfort car. I do agree with you on how you can do so much with a Transit Connect. I sacrifice on payload and hauling compared to a truck. But the ride, handling, and passenger capacity cannot be matched. Pricing is another strong suit. Most of my friends have $40K+ Toyota, Honda, et cetera.....all for being able to seat a large group. With my frugal ways, Transit Connect was the least expensive passenger vehicle on the market. Nothing else with equivalent seating capacity can be found at this price point.
  23. What you want can be accomplished. You are only limited by your imagination. Products are on the market for what you want. There is a company making seats for anyone who wants to turn their pickup truck into a Subaru Brat. You can strip a flight attendant jump seat from an airplane graveyard. Or steal a jump seat from a UPS truck.
