trans drain and fill for 2014 TC w/2.5 L 6 speed auto
G B L replied to Bret1197's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
26132 on the clock Time to check the Left seal weep on the TC. The weep is there but is not changing or getting worse. Change the fluid while I was under the car. Put 12 quarts total through the gear. The fluid is nice and clear now, This Transmission works the fluid hard, I think that the sever service mileage should be used . I Like this Van very much but I am still fuming about not having a transmission dip stick. -

Sorry to have to commiserate with you as you sit at the dealership. The fix that windguy had done was the seal the left axel bushing and a new inner CV joint . that seem to be the fix that has the best chance of working . Make sure the dealer does it that way. The paper work pictured includes the kit. Good luck and keep us posted

Could be, yours is a diesel, The Ecoboost 1.1 is gas, a 25% mileage difference from the beginning . If the VW was a 1.6 Tdi getting 52. then 52- (25%)=39 MPG He is right there.

Ford Transit Connect Manual Transmission Kit

I wonder if the price of his gear box included all the extras that were needed to make it work on the TC that had an autobox. mrtn all you needed was the gearbox it self. -
radio upgrade & adding rear speakers
G B L replied to scotpak50's topic in Audio, Navigation and SYNC
The good thing about the amp is you can set the balance and fade with the amp and set the volume of the booster . If you want to hide the amp to keep the stock look the vol control and balance will control of the radio will still control the sound out put. Hope the mod works out let us know how it goes. -
LWB + Ecoboost = No Dice. Why????
G B L replied to DapperVan's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
The LWB engine limitations are applied to the passenger models . The Work version is available with both engines in the XL and XLT versions. Could be the extra weight of the LWB Passenger package or just they don't want to make it. -

Anytime the pleasure was mine. Stay in touch, hopefully about something else.

They should be able to tell you which seal they replaced. You should get a copy of the work order from the job for your records I understand your frustration.

MK2 TC (2014 up) COILOVERS completed !
G B L replied to CAGE B8's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Keep up The good work Mustang, and Cage B8 looking forward to the finished Install with the part numbers and pictures . I have done lots of things to cars that the parts suppliers are not at liberty to endorse publicly. As for Air bags I have had several vehicles with air bags and having an on board compressor is not necessary. The number of times that the pressure is changed is small and a home compressor or even a bicycle pump will do just fine. Cheers to all waiting for the rest of all the stories that are running at the same time in this Post.- 33 replies

Wheel bearing replacement, wheel knuckle, by hand?
G B L replied to pdizzle's topic in 2002-2013 Ford Transit Connect
True, but if you are traveling the bearing press will most likely be at home. If good bearings are used they should last at least 40 to 60000 miles and will let you know when they start to go. If you have a long trip planed then you can Put the Front on Jack stands and Run the TC with the wheels up and listen to the hubs. if they are letting go they will let you know. -
Wheel bearing replacement, wheel knuckle, by hand?
G B L replied to pdizzle's topic in 2002-2013 Ford Transit Connect
The wheel bearings are more subject to water intrusion than mileage. One of the hardest parts of the Bearing replacement is the snap ring removal. The bearing press you are looking at will do the job if there is not a lot of rust. There is another option. You pull the wheel knuckles and find a machine shop that will do the press work. this would save a lot of money. Make sure the ABS side of the bearing is correct and take care when pulling the ABS probe.
