Ford to cancel Transit Connect by end of 2023
G B L replied to Todd111's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
The 230 mile range without a swap-able battery would make the all electric a non starter for me. If they came up with one of these in a Connect size and Barn doors then it would be very interesting. Transit Custom plug-in hybrid combines a 2.5-liter gasoline-fueled engine running on the Atkinson cycle and a battery with an 11.8 kWh usable capacity. -
This set is 32..99 on Amazon and I have used them, Not much to put in if you have a tire machine. Autel make a universal sender that you can program that is duel frequency that has a very nice Metal stem, but More money at 29.99 Ea. Any way not much of a job. Don the sensors in My 2014 are still holding there own and they are on the third set of tires . Audi TPMS 2.xcf

From the Self inflicted ass rider a lot of your posts are very questionable and subject to a Creditable information check irrespective if one owns a Transit Connect or not.
-
And if needed it doubles as an emergency hockey puck!
-
If the tire is not loosing air the only thing that will set off the TPMS sensor is a loss of communication by the wheel sensor. When you put the old wheels back on, if the light stays off the answer will be clear . For whatever reason the new sensors are not staying in touch with the TPMS Module. Can't wait for the answer!! As for the anti forscan crap more self-inflicted ass riding.
-
It this is true then the sensors are correct and functioning. If you get a Tpms Light then the only way to easily check the sensor power is to put the old wheels on and see if you get a TPMS light.
-
If the new wheels did the relearn then the frequency is the same. If switching the tires gets rid of the issue then the transmitter in the replacement wheels must be weaker . Then If two sets of wheels are desired a different set of sensors will be needed.

TC downshifting when coming to a stop - is it normal?
G B L replied to slantalpha's topic in Transmission
This transmission module definitely takes a very active roll. It holds speed up and down hill in Cruise and it shifts to put the Transmission in the correct gear for the next acceleration. It also seems to know when the TC has extra load like pulling a trailer . -
GertsWerks is a 2011 and he says he is Southern Atlantic so his won't be a turbo diesel . So we have 2 gen 1's with starting issues. I am assuming the 2005 has resolved his issue after 8 years, but you never know!

Don as usual is correct.

2022 Battery Distribution Bracket Help
G B L replied to freedom35's topic in Accessories and Modifications
That big nut would be a good place for the positive and there is a negative on the body near there to the right for the negative..Put a fuse in the positive side of that circuit for safety . -
If that 2011 TC is here it won't be the high pressure diesel pump, when you turn the key do you here the fuel pump run before you crank it?
-
how long does it have to sit? A good battery tester will be of great help here. Before you crank the TC get an Idea of what the condition the battery is. The starter could be worn and that would make for an intermittent starting issue.

There was a Recall on several years of TC's for this problem Yours could be a recall. If you get a shop Manual the process is pretty straight forward. If you do it with the door on although harder it leaves the door adjustment untouched . Please let us know what happened.

Overheating Temporary Temperature Tantrum
G B L replied to HeRodeCBR's topic in 2015 Ford Transit Connect
How much did you add? There is a weep hole on the water pump and coolant could be lost there . Yes a scan tool would be needed to see what happened. -
The 2.0 has 162 Hp at 6500 Rpm and 144 lbft of torque at 4500 Rpm and If you have an XL you can Option in a 2.5 engine that has 169Hp at 6000 Rpm and 171 lbft of torque at 4500 Rpm. Mine has the 2.5 and if you want to keep up your speed on hills 4500 to 5000 rpms is not unusual. The 2.0 engine will want to rev at least that high.. This is a small engine and it does not get lively until you hit at least 3500 Rpm. If you hook a trailer to it it will be turning up a lot.

If it is a Diesel then it is definitely an interference engine, as for Gas engines if it is a twin cam it also will be an interference engine. If the belt or pulley failed there is most certainly mechanical damage to find.

Looking for a part number or name.
G B L replied to TomFazed's topic in Accessories and Modifications
That does not look like an oil line it has something to do with the inter-cooler, as we do not have diesels over here I cannot access the parts breakdown . What is the model of your TC and what engine . -
Thanks for the follow up.
-
That is cool mine is not a camper, it is more like a toolbox!
-
Nice If you are putting that few miles on then the fuel mileage would not even be a concern. Finding a safe place to park would be higher on the list.

As impressive as it is I am not holding my breath. Ford does not really want to sell the TC . After 2023 the whole van will be a VW and my level of interest in it will be much reduced!
