European diesel models have this 8-speed transmission. Perhaps it's the same in US gasoline models.

I read somewhere that passenger models will go VW first, cargo units will remain Ford for some time due to high demand and excellent tech.

Recovery hook is rated for emergency towing of the TC at 35 mph max, no other ratings.

Windchill does affect everything as fast moving air cools everything more effectively than standing one. My -20°C proof windshield fluid freezes in heated nozzles at -8°C at highway speed. A few minute break melts everything until unterwegs again.

Helsinki, being a coastal city (50 miles North from here), is not that bad. The temps should drop below 30°C in February tho.

Oh, I saw that -4°C and derived from that.

2014 Transit Connect - aftermarket wiring and harness woes
mrtn replied to TC2014's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Original plug colors are not universal. Different trim levels have completely different colors. -
I don't know. It came with in mine. Works fine, the engine gets warm really quick. It would make even more sense in a diesel machine.

Petrol models have active grille shutter. At least my 1.6 does. Check yours.

What the hell. The fascia kit is 40 quid in Aliexpress ? You'll need the cable loom but these do not cost that much at all.

Seems expensive, given it's a refurbished unit. Can't help you with parking sensors but you can also look at Pioneer and Kenwood. Note that some screens are resistive (pressure sensitive, like old touch screen phones) and others are capacitive (touch sensitive like all the newer phones since iPhone I).

Completed manual transmission swap
mrtn replied to jpoletta's topic in Transit Connect Member Custom Builds
I think he only swapped the gearbox and got stuck with electronics. Brits do crazy swaps all the time but it always seems to be full running gear from a donor Focus/Mondeo/Fusion including the looms and ECU, mount and half shaft fabrication. I've seen V6 and I5 swaps reported as well. -
All Gen2 wheels are compatible.

oh wow, I stand corrected.

I don't think there were any installed.

You mean turn signal repeater? Which year? Older versions are organge, newer are dull clear in Europe as well.
-
I know that you need to convert red turn signals to amber when importing to Europe (1996 models and onwards). If there are no amber/EU-spec OEM clusters available or sometimes people are just cheap they drop amber bulbs in reverse lights, rewire and add separate reverse lights and rear fog to meet the requirements but I think the only thing you need to convert for US spec is disconnect the rear fog light? There's no DOT spec beam to worry about like for headlights.

The easiest way would be just getting generic individual connectors for all wires. Well insulated, naturally. I've always wondered why did Ford send old style tail lights to the US models while European models of the same years coming from the same assembly line were equipped with new style clusters. Perhaps overstocked old clusters dumped on a new market region. Europe needed a freshup but the US buyers were not aware of it.
