  1. Is it the 1.6 or 2.5? Make sure you have the cooling system recall done if it's the 1.6.
  2. Works perfect in my 2009 Toyota but craps the bed in a '14 CR-V every time. Have to turn it off and on again every once in a while.
  3. People have different abilities. 100% restrictive rules are counterproductive and will not work anyway. You should be able to determine what's good for you. I'm pretty sure an air traffic controller will do just fine answering a phone call on Bluetooth while some person who's not capable of chewing a gum while taking a bath due to slow cranking brain should just wait till he/she's stopped. But I'm all for enforcing handsfree setup in car. Now that wireless carplay systems are becoming more available you can just have the car automatically disable your phone's advanced features and provide you with phone calls and navigation on car display.
  4. Deer are higher up, landing on the hood and windshield. We have HUGE moose over here (with more than half of the country covered by forest), 7 feet high. These will effectively kill everyone in the car if hit at highway speed.

What kind of a monster throws snap off blades on the road https://www.super-hobby.com/products/Blade-Disposal-Case-DC-4.html
  6. Yes, as there was no structural deformation whatsoever. Airbags don't deploy unless it's absolutely necessary. The boar(s) ran on the road from my right, I instinctively turned left to avoid them and managed to hit the last one. If I had kept my direction I would have missed it. The boar tumbled towards 11 o'clock for 20 feet and ended up in the ditch. Then got up and split.
  7. Mk1 Connect is structurally solid. I hit a wild boar on the highway with no other damage than a bent plate. The plate was the focus point so the whole energy was absorbed by the bumper. A hit like that would have reached the radiator on any standard passenger car.
  8. I have a chain and a head gasket for my first car (from 1990), still. I think I can find a pair of lower control arm joints but I might have thrown them away.
  9. Yes, it was different. I did. That was the best I could afford new back then. Note that this was the standalone Euro version which had nothing to do with Mazda 323. It was a 100% Ford product and it had upscale interior, excellent materials and nice interior design. It was identical to this apart from color and dark interior.
  10. Today you get an option of ordering a car to your own tase. I waited for months for my first new car (1996 Escort CLX 3-door) because I wanted it in Augergine Metallic paint. Noone in their right mind orders this in stock.
  11. I had the exact same damage to mine, identical. Was fixed by the insurance co in a few days.

You don’t need to. It’s for rolling an open-wheel race car into it. You can see it in the background.

I think it came with my 1989 Escort (European variant).
  14. Never heard of anyone replacing the screen alone. It's of different shape as well. Perhaps the whole cluster?
  15. Male pattern baldness should not be considered an issue at all. Who cares, really. I have a full head of hair but I recently buzzcut it to zero. Anybody with a receding hairline or thin patches should do the same. It's perfectly fine in the era of vindiesels and jasonstathams.
  16. Man, you’ve splashed into a premium gene pool.
  17. This has been discussed before. They're just decoration, not lights. You can order a pair and replace youself but they're really expensive, $50-60 a piece.
  18. XR4Ti was a Ford Sierra sold under Merkur brand. There were two models exported to US under the supposed luxury Merkur brand name: Scorpio and XR4Ti. I have also contemplated getting a Scorpio Ghia hatchback (the exact model that was rebadged). 2.9i engine with the A4LD transmission.
  19. This will be haunting me until it's sold: https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=244887582
  20. Agreed. I learned to love it in my late Taurus.
  21. My colleague sold his 1990 Ford Sierra wagon to some theatre director back in 1996. Saw the car a few years ago, it still had our logos on it. It was a great car. I think I should get one.
  22. Mine has a sliding rear door on the passenger side. You can order any configuration in Europe, including no rear side doors at all, apart from the rear hatch or barn doors, you can't avoid those. No hinged rear side doors available. There is a step on the place of the non-existent left side door tho, just like on the door side. I keep my spare wheel there. Fits like a glove.
