295s are as wide as I can go on the back and get the side doors open. 27 inches in diameter is about the maximum on the front and this would depend upon the width of the tire and the offset of the wheel. Stock dia. is 25.3" on 16s, and 25.5" on 17s. Sensible tires is pure opinion.

I was just joking. I don't think my employer is going to provide a vehicle for me to commute back and forth to work. If that was a requirement, I'd be unemployed.

You paint a pretty good picture and the stealership isn't too different except you get elevator music with your coffee minus the kid who needs a haircut. But I'm reading this and I'm trying to figure out how I can get my BOSS to pay the bill for maintenance on MY van. Some guys have all the luck.

They still are being ripped off. Most minivan driving soccer moms haven't a clue about that code or how to get it. Some folks are out and out scared the engine might blow up on the way home. Ignorance is big business.

It is quite easy to do. If you can change a tire, you can do these quick checks.

Symptoms that you're describing sounds almost identical to a new 1996 Chevy cargo van we once had. Turns out it WAS a wheel bearing. Sorry if I'm harshing your mellow, you should probably get it checked out as soon as you can. Ask about the "lemon law". I'm not sure under what conditions it rules but it may be worth your while.

That may or may not keep out a mud dauber.

This one is not likely to fit either, but... https://www.ebay.com/p/Fuel-Tank-Cap-Regular-Locking-Fuel-Cap-Stant-10524/137076508?_trksid=p2047675.l2644 Will probably have create something custom to keep the dirt out.

Its not really about siphoning gas out, which has been very difficult to do since the 70s. Its about keeping foreign substances out.
-
In all seriousness, is there a cap at all that will fit? With a cap you can lock it. Its pointless to speculate why some dumbass engineer thought a topless gas tank was a good idea, but did they just get so many complaints that it was too much work to take the top off to put gas in the vehicle? Are people that frigging lazy today?

If I had ordered mine I would have had to get a 2017. I wanted the most stripped down version I could get that had rear windows. The rest of it I would have been happier NOT to get. Might even have been willing to pay more NOT to get any bells and whistles.

Make sure to post some pics. I'd be interested in seeing how you accomplish it.

This is what I do with my pickup. I don't have any issues with wearing the seatbelt on public roads. None whatsoever. Looked up the steps in the manual and once again its a series of convoluted steps to do it. A simple user interface allowing the owner to change these parameters (virtually all parameters) would be so easy for the manufacturer to provide with todays technology.

It really does sound like it would be for the taxi light and probably dead ends in the ceiling somewhere. I wish I had one so I could retro-fit it to work the cargo light manually.

After a big fat ticket, I have "learned" to drive with the seatbelt on. The chime has reminded me a few times that I should put it on so its not all bad. But if I'm just moving stuff around the yard and shop this could be useful. The seatbelt only really bothers me when I have the window down at highway speeds. The wind catches the top end of it and sounds a little like a buzz saw. I wonder if I couldn't relocate that end of it?

My 2016 has only one keyed entry, driver's door. All the locks appear to only work in unison. One more reason that I think it should be legal to strangle at least one software engineer per day. When the key fob starts acting up its going to be a royal pain in the ass.

Can the automatic locking be turned off?

It sounds a little hit & miss. Never going back to the stealership. -

Is it available with a separate handheld? i.e. not your phone? Will it change to "dark mode"? -
I am going to say I got it this time. User error. I wasn't pressing first one and then the other. My mind somehow said the unlock was for the auto-unlock and the lock was for the auto-lock. You have to press both buttons one after the other. The order seems to determine which feature you are changing the state of. Don't feel bad, I just got a bunch of WTF looks doing the same thing at work. HR may call later today to see if I need some sort of "counseling".

Can the automatic locking be turned off?

Apparently I was wr...wr...wrong. I just took the van out at lunch and the auto-lock is NOT disabled. I must have hit the power unlock button while the engine was on this morning. If you do that it doesn't lock automatically when you begin to move. Nothing new there, that was always the case. Now I'm a little pissed. -

Now I just need to get the thing to stop automatically re-locking if I don't actually open a door within 45 seconds. My path to the truck can sometimes look like one of the old Family Circus cartoons. -

I haven't actually done this yet, but one day soon I'm going to shove a canoe in the back and the doors will be open. I don't want the auto-lock continuously trying to lock an open door. Not sure if that's the way it will go but I'm sure its going to give me some sort of heartburn moving with the doors open. Maybe that will be one less thing to deal with at that very moment. Besides, when I want the doors locked I know how to lock them. When I want them unlocked I know how to unlock them. I don't need Ford Motor Company trying to make that decision for me. And that is probably the biggest reason. When I can no longer think for myself, just change my diaper and lock all the doors. And it took me four attempts this morning to get the auto-lock feature disabled because that one doesn't chirp as it said it would. The auto-unlock did. -
I had trouble making the 30 sec time limit and trying to refer back to the manual. Thanks Don, cause I think I just may be able to print out what you have here and follow it without having to try and pick out from the manual the important parts. Don't you have to go through the whole sequence for each function?
