Delicate not being my forte, I have to ask. You do know that you move the truck to the trailer, not the trailer to the truck, right?
-
No it isn't. I have spent a lifetime hooking up trailers without a camera. Nobody I know has much difficulty with it.

Simple. Electronic devices are prone to failure and much more difficult (and costly) to repair when they do. The vast majority of them are unnecessary. Computers do a very good job of regulating fuel and ignition, but beyond that, pretty much everything else is FLUFF. Bells and whistles. KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid.

Since I was looking for a cargo van, that was a specific requirement I had. MUST have rear windows and must NOT have a backup camera. Unless my mirrors fall off the technology will never fail me.
-
If all else fails, there are always rear windows and rear view mirrors.

And we have autonomous cars to look forward to...…..allowing drivers the freedom to roll their doobies, mix their drinks, play with their phones and gaming electronics unimpeded by the perceived need to pay attention to the road. Necessary activities to be sure.

Well said sir. There is absolutely NOTHING that cannot wait until you stop the vehicle.

No side doors reminds me of the old panel trucks Such a sweet look.

I have immediately removed any sticker or logo from the dealer from any car or truck I have bought. License plate frame, anything. Annoys the piss out of me that they put them on there.

Every one I've seen around here has a sliding door on both sides. Which is in fact much more convenient. I wonder do they make them with hinged doors on the passenger side?
-
This has part of what I mean. Then I notice I don't see a side door! How come you European guys get all the good stuff?

Are the black body moldings good at holding paint? The front and back on the cargo van have just entirely too much black. I would like to paint the 4 pieces just above and below the taillights Frozen White same as the rest of the van. This should also help tone down the tall taillights of which I am not a big fan. Something like this, please excuse the roughness of my artwork.

Jaguars circa 2002, BTW Mrtn the rear tires are true 16" white letter. Not the front.

Out of curiosity, does the handle disconnect? At some point storage becomes an issue.

I had to look that up to see what it was. And OH HAIL NO! That's worse than the old bumper jacks. I thought about that after I mentioned bumper jacks. Half the people on here have probably never even seen a bumper jack much less used one. I keep forgetting how old I am...…….because of...….how old I am.
-
I would certainly never use THAT jack again. That one is either broken or the biggest POS dangerous tool around.
-
This is a good picture of what NEVER to do with a jack. The base should always be directly in a straight line under the jacking point on the vehicle. The jack shouldn't even allow you to position it the way this is shown. I would throw this jack just as far away as I could sling it! I come from the age of bumper jacks and this puts them to shame.
-
I honestly don't think I have ever seen anyone use a bottle jack to try and change a tire....ever. Why not just use the scissor jack? It goes down really low and has a lot of travel.

Door Sensors
OLDSCHOOLFOOL replied to OLDSCHOOLFOOL's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs & Remote Start
Or simply jumper the sensors/switches. If I install new lights for the cargo area and use a separate source of power then the annoying outside lights would never come on when you open one of cargo doors. As it should be. Would like to have my plan in place before I start to modify the back area. -
Door Sensors
OLDSCHOOLFOOL replied to OLDSCHOOLFOOL's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs & Remote Start
Pretty much my thinking. I believe I could use a switch or switches to jumper the door ajar switches either at one location or multiple locations. -
Door Sensors

Many thanks. Where your goal appeared to be to turn on all the lights (without actually opening a door), mine is to keep the lights from coming on when any of the cargo doors are opened. Until I ask for it. -
Door Sensors

For the rear and side cargo doors, forget about the front doors. It appear the side door sensors may be in the door posts. -
Does anyone have access to schematic(s) showing the door sensors on 2016 model? Maybe someone already posted these but I don't know where to look?
