You should be able to program your key from the instructions in the owners manual. That little book has a lot of useful information. Some of us never bother to read them. I've still got owners manuals wrapped in plastic from cars I don't even own anymore. You can program things like having the doors lock automatically as you're driving off. My favorite on all Ford vehicles I've driven is being able to turn off that seat belt chime. Sometimes, a guy just wants to drive around without a seat belt.

You can also install a camera in the grille to guide you when you're parking.

You couldn't send the video signal from the backup camera to the larger screen on your aftermarket head unit?

Since you're down in The SouthLAnd, maybe you could go around to some of those shops that have TV shows, and see if they would be interested in doing a build. Not so unusual. I think there have been Transit Connect builds at SEMA.

Yeah. We have the strictest emissions standards and The California Air Resources Board. But you would be surprised with what passes at an inspection station. What they don't see, they don't catch. I've never been caught with underdrive pulleys, or custom tunes. Lots of guys that I know have high flow catalytic converters. A lot of cars have intake units which are not CARB approved. I've got an intake on my truck without an Executive Order Number. Just about everyone that I know with an older Harley, including me, is not riding around with any smog control equipment. Even camshafts, when you're doing an engine build, are suppose to be CARB approved; but how many people are building engines with "legal" camshafts, or even care, since the Smog Check guy isn't going to tear your engine apart to check? At my last Smog Check, the guy looked under the hood, looked under the car, shook his head, and muttered, "I don't eee nothing. If you pass, you pass. If you fail, you figure it out." All that he did was plug into my OBD II port and checked readings at different RPMs. They don't put that snifter into the tail pipe anymore. They don't even check your gas cap anymore.

I bought a car. A car with nothing in the car. An XL model without any add-ons or features. If I can't live without it, I'll add it myself. Opinions vary. I bought a Long Wheel Base Wagon because I'm able to seat 7 people, at a very low price point. I didn't expect any luxury for what I was paying. And I knew going in, and confirmed with a test drive, that I was not buying a performance vehicle. However, it suits my needs for efficiency and economy. I can get a small group from point A to point B, and at a cost of $10K less than a more luxurious vehicle. They don't like it? They want leather seats? They want Dolby Digital & IMAX screens, with leather, heated, massage chairs? They can find another ride.

What plans do you have for lighting? Unlike the trucks and vans of yesteryear, there aren't smooth flat surfaces to use as mounting points. And anything forward from the hood will just get knocked off when someone backs into the van as they are parking.

Amazing that there isn't a way to access the Body Control Module and change things like that. Since you can remap most engines, and change transmission shift points, on most cars. It would be cool to be able to program your signal lights to wig-wag.

Did Galpin offer any performance mods to help squeeze more power out of this little van?

A clear day on The Barbary Coast. You can see the clouds behind Alcatraz, Saints Peter & Paul Cathedral, and Coit Tower. When the fog bank rolls in, it's a different conversation.

This is what my OEM headlamp with OEM halogen H11 looks like. In a heavy fog condition, fog lights are suppose to be able to compensate and provide similar visibility on the road surface so that you can at least see the road and lane markers.

In all seriousness........ On the one hand, you could take that dealer's offer, and try to negotiate for a better price than $100 over invoice. Believe me. Invoice is simply an arbitrary number. You could negotiate your way into a fantastic deal on something in current inventory. However, you won't get what you want. To get what you want, you'll have to spend more, and have patience. Will you get instant gratification on a good deal today? Or will it be a better feeling to wait for what you want? I know. It's like turning down a sure thing, because you have your eye on another girl, already talking to another guy, at the other end of the bar. It's your money. Spend it on what makes you happy. But I've just got to ask. You are getting a glass roof, with a roof rack? What are you going to look up at? Ladders?
