  1. Show the ghetto some respect. Hoodlums might be too busy doubled over in laughter, to rip one off. It's sad how lower social economic neighborhoods are viewed and serviced. I've never seen an inner city Starbucks. All the KFC locations have bulletproof glass. There are no banks, only check cashing stores and liquor stores who will also cash a check. Never any kind of high end clothing or dining. No fresh produce. No butcher. No fish monger. No large grocery stores. You can't even get a fresh loaf of bread. That corner liquor store is all that you have. Nobody will attempt to deliver any kind of food. And on some blocks, ambulances won't go without a police escort. I have literally seen ambulances waiting a quarter mile away, until a police car shows up to drive in with them. And not even the cops will come alone. Always in pairs. Never solo. Is it racial profiling? No. It's just profiling poor people. I see this in poor communities regardless of the racial demographic.
  2. A lot of people see the Kelvin rating, and mistake it for light intensity. Kelvin is a color range. A higher Kelin does not make the lamp brighter. In the old days, people looked for candlepower. Now, it's lumen. But I guess all those numbers are confusing, so get the box with the highest numbers. That Citizen's Band radio and antenna sounds interesting. Are you planning on the roofline and shelf space behind the front windshield?

  6. Fog lights do not need to be yellow, in order to work. The science is there. Do a little research. Or you can have yellow headlights too, just like in France.
  7. My high beams are the 4800 lumen Street Cat. The H11 (H8/H9) size fits perfectly. And you can see from photos that I posted, the LED driver fits snugly on the framework of the vehicle right where the lamp housing is. Get your own zip tie The zip tie in the box is not long enough. But that is an insignificant detail. These really work. I first bought the 4000 lumen units on Amazon.com, because it was a "Lightning Deal". Really low price. Then I saw the 4800 lumen. Now, I wished I bought both sets in the 4800 lumen model. It's newer technology. And there is a 3 year warranty, which is far superior to the 1 year warranty offered with other brands. When I bought my first set of LED lights for my pickup truck, back when dinosaurs were still roaming La Brea, those lamps only came with a 6 month warranty......no big deal, since I am still running them. But the difference in technology is by leaps and bounds.   8. Also consider that each dealership has their own finance department, and those guys are also responsible for generating profits on the loan. Ask if you can have a "fleet price" since you're purchasing a "commercial vehicle". Focus more on out the door pricing, and actual cost of ownership after payments. You are getting a car with a 5 year warranty. You loan should be a 5 year loan. You do not want to be the guy still making payments on a car without a warranty.
  9. Those kinds of classifications could vary from state to state, and different finance companies have their own rules in regards to vehicle classification and financing. In California, I had to fill out additional paperwork, and pay more to Department of Motor Vehicles in order to get commercial license plates. Otherwise, it would have been licensed as a regular passenger car. In my case, I wanted commercial license plates so that I can park in commercial parking spaces, and drive on streets which are zoned for commercial vehicles only. Yes, we have streets here that you cannot drive on unless you have a commercial vehicle.
  10. Okay. The high beams have also been exchanged to LED. At the moment, I hesitate to use the word "upgrade". Time will tell how well it's working, and if it was truly an upgrade.
  11. In some scenarios, employers have a private bus fleet. In other scenarios, employers reimburse the cost of public transportation. Unfortunately, I do not work for such an employer. Wouldn't it be great to be working at places like Genentech, Google, & FaceBook? I love how they even hire private chefs to cook lunch for people so that they don't have to leave the workplace to get something to eat.
  12. I suppose if you learn to only use it for round trips that are within range, then you can comfortably charge it overnight. And it also depends on the user. For me, I would not be able to commute. In my situation, I would be able to get to work, but unable to return home. Great little cars for running errands. I can see how something like this is much more practical for trips to get groceries.
  13. I'm sure that it can be serviced. It's just a matter of how much of the van you have to remove to get to it. The LED license plate lamp/release latch combo on the liftgate requires taking the interior panel off, then removing the exterior trim assembly. A lot of work to change a light bulb.
  14. For the moment, I am satisfied. Next thing to do is add LED to the high beam lamp.
  15. I tried. Camera is junk on a cell phone. My hands are shaky. Ambient lighting from the street is obviously a factor.
  16. In my 2nd Gen owners manual, the third brake light is LED and suppose to be dealer serviced. I imagine that all it really is, is that you have to replace the entire unit. The license lamp & liftgate release unit also says "dealer service". That item requires taking apart the liftgate. I suppose it's not a simple light bulb change.
  17. But a reserve on a motorcycle really isn't ideal. The best thing to do is to raise the front end of the tank, move the fill cap to the top, then move the petcock gravity feed to the bottom at the back of the tank.. This allows you to carry more fuel, and be able to use it.
