1. Bought the $20 + relay for mine then decided I didn't like them and removed it. Came in handy though when the back-up lamps quit.
2. Yeah, 7443. One of mine went out. The company I work for is a lighting (all kinds) dealer and we didn't have them. Went to Advance, no got. Went to AutoZone got a 2-pack for about $8.00. Went back a showed the boss the bill. We now carry them, our cost is $.52 each !
3. I have lived in/with this TC for right at a year now. The 4 years prior I had a E250. Each model has it's benefits. Comfort-wise the TC is at least as comfortable. It's much more maneuverable, gets double the fuel mileage handles almost everything I carried in the E-van. It's quite modest power is hard to get used to and live with, you get road-bullied more in the TC, and IMO the road noise is just annoying on the highway. With the proper tires and loaded properly you shouldn't have much traction issues. If you tail load it it does get light in the nose and want to spin on dirt/gravel. Doesn't have enough power to spin on pavement! It does what it was designed to do and does it as cheaply as anything you will find. Parking alert devices are troublesome, but other than that no issues. Regular maintenance has kept it going, not even brakes yet.
4. I drive 500+ miles every Tuesday, 300+ every Wednesday and around 200 on Thursday. It handles pretty well, passes others respectably if unloaded (max payload, forget it!), is quite reasonably comfortable (audio sucks) and has above average road noise. Suspension handles road bumps reasonably well for a lightweight. Fuel capacity limits you to around 400 miles per tank. It performed reasonably well in snow/ice. I hate the control trac in icy conditions though. I prefer to be in control.
5. Saw this the other day while looking for something else. Nice grille guard!
6. Mine have quit twice now. First time it was a bad sensor and beeped at me every time I put it in reverse. That gets old real fast !! There is a 7.5A fuse, #152, in the central fuse panel inside. In my case it was good the last time and it was the relay in the under hood box, actually the reverse lamp relay. Do your reverse lamps work????
7. We used those on some of our Handicap Transit buses. I may just get one and try it.
8. From the album: Steve's (ncranchero) TC

I'm running 75MPH this TC just blows by me!

Show-off !!
9. From the album: Steve's (ncranchero) TC

Caught my eye while having mine serviced Monday.
10. Is it just copies of pages from crash manuals (Motors/Mitchells) or is it from an actual Ford parts fiche ?
11. PM me your email address and I'll send you a pdf of the procedure from mine.
12. Less vans ................ more bikinis !!! :tease:
13. You'll get over it Memphis ! ! Nice little vehicle if you stay within it's designed limits.
14. My back-up light relay went FUBAR yesterday so I swapped the DRL relay into it's place until the next PM @ Ford, then warranty. Actually I don't think I'll put the DRL back on, didn't like it as well as I thought I would. I will make them replace that crazy-high relay though!
15. Looks like you and I bought about the same time, have about the same mileage and use ours for similar purposes. I only work 2 1/2 days a week though. I'm about to embark on my Tuesday run, 11 hours & 500+ miles in the cockpit with only 3 stops, one to refuel. Wednesdays and Thursdays are 300+ and 200+ respectively and a bit easier on the old body.

Hi all!!

Welcome! This is the USA Transit site, there IS a UK site. We don't get many of the options you folks over there get but hope we can help out!
17. I "re-engineered" a replacement antenna staff from a standard Ford antenna and installed it on mine. It improved the reception of my 6000CD somewhat but it still sucks, as do the speakers. So far I've just lived with it.
18. Haven't seen too many haters here Hal. Most of us would like to see some changes/improvements, like those you saw while researching the UK TC's for a year. Most of us switched to the TC from larger more comfortable vehicles. It has big improvements over the larger vehicles, economy and maneuverability being a couple, but creature comfort is not one of them. We'd like diesels, manual transmissions, passenger arm rests, a radio worth turning on, sound deadening.........etc. Mine just turned 40K miles, got it 8/2/10 and it runs 3 days a week. I like it.............could like it better though.
19. Anyone used the 49901 Wix air filter? The wixfilters.com site doesn't list an air filter. O'Reillys shows 49901 Wix, CA10834 Fram, FA1900 Motorcraft and 33-2436 K&N.
