Water dripping from overhead console

I have water dripping from the overhead console in my 2020 Transit Connect Passenger.  It seems to be when there is condensation and not necessarily rain.

The water has dripped down on the speaker/grill below it.  It appears to have caused serious damage.  GPS no longer works, radio intermittent, and now a constant hum from the speakers.

Trying to get a service appointment.  Water leaking into the dash is never a good thing.  Hope it is safe to drive.

Why do you think condensation?Do your windows have condensation on the inside on cold mornings?

To have that much condensation,something must be soaked,like carpet or padding under the rubber mat in the panel version.Check the cowl drains on the engine side of the fire wall.

There have been reports of leaks around the antenna in some TCs

Jack, thanks for the reply.  There has not been any condensation on the inside windows.  I guess I should have called it dew on the outside.  It's raining today and tomorrow so I will see if the drips increase.  I have a towl and pan to keep any additional water from getting into the dash.  Do you have any more info on the leaks around the antenna?

The antenna , the windshield , and the holes for the roof rack track mount are the only holes in the roof panel. 

Sounds like a place to start.

My first guess would be the seal on the windshield. Might help to remove the inside trim to try  and localize the leak. Water's got a mind of it's own, and can come out nowhere near where it got in.

The windshield seal is not it. Water doesn't travel up.  Most likely entry point is 1 of the holes in the roof.  Maybe all of the holes.   On a cargo model, from the inside, you can actually see water coming in from the plastic cap.   On some Ford cars, there is a drain tube. It clogs.  You can buy all new caps. They will leak also.  My plan is to lift the caps, clean off the surface and the cap, apply a ring of sealant, then reinstall the cap.

definantly check out the roof rack holes. i had a leak at the carwash from those holes, after installing the rack.

 My memory wasn't the greatest............In this instance it turned out to be windshield.

To those who want to remove roof plugs........

Treat them as one time use!!

 

I installed the mounting rails for my rack and most of those plugs broke when I tried to remove them.

I used rubber washers on each bolt with silicone sealant and no leaks in 4 yrs

Well the answer is....  I took it to the dealer as it is under warranty. 

 

There are 2 tabs at the top of the windshield that were leaking.  The water dripped down and damaged the speaker and "radio" module that controls the heads up Ford Pass system including the GPS module.

 

They removed the windshield and resealed the tabs.  They had to order all the parts so I picked it up and am awaiting parts.

Where are these "tabs"?  What is a "tab"?  Is it a part of the windshield gasket seal?  I am trying to imagine what this looks like.  

 

Does anyone have a parts diagram which shows tabs at the top of the windshield?
