Hi All

Just wondering whether anyone has been able to install an external amplifier on a 2019 Transit Custom?  I want to run speakers in the rear?  Keen to know IF anyone has been able to remove the radio to get to the back of it??

Thanks

Looking at pictures online, the Australian Transit Custom looks similar to the US Transit 150/250/350 low-roof 130", not our little Transit Connects. Radios should generally be the same or similar, since Ford (and others, of course) uses parts across models to reduce costs - and Ford has the "One Ford" plan which whittled 27 different platforms down to 9 platforms globally; wait, they've gone even further and reduced it to 5 modular vehicle platforms.

Bluetooth transmitter and wireless speakers? Bypasses the factory radio head entirely, but no great loss there. I'm sure you could dig up a good one that also accepts USB input from a thumb drive for spinning your own jams, but do your research there ... some are only set up as charger ports. Seems to me some even have voice control?

Not sure why Ford never made the AUX port standard ... I mean, all the radios have the connections and button, fer peat's sakes ...

My 2015 TC XL base has an AUX port in it but no CD slot - maybe they finally made AUX a standard feature in the 2nd gen TC? The only dealer-spec'd extras on mine were power windows & locks - not even power mirrors! Goofy. Which reminds me of another thing - manual mirrors that you have to physically touch to adjust?! What is this, 1960 instead of a 2015 model?? lol. I added CC & large mirrors myself (they're power, but I haven't checked in the doors for wiring yet, so I'm still using them manually).

I got something like that.  Works great.  Problems solved, for under $20.
