Hello fiedav. Here is the URL for the Transit Connect Body Builders Guide. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/topics/2010/2010_Transit_Connect.pdf . It was posted years ago by a forum member iselford. It contains all the info you asked for. -
How to remove the Center AC vent outlet??
103west43rd replied to semperkeith's topic in Climate Control
I never liked trying to remove a panel held in by clips. I use a tool made for removing "christmas tree fasteners" with tape on the blade to prevent scratching. For the assembly we are discussing, I would start from a corner back toward the windshield and yes, one clip at a time. If something goes wrong, the crack will be less noticeable then if you start from the edge below the vents! Good luck. -
How to remove the Center AC vent outlet??
103west43rd replied to semperkeith's topic in Climate Control
Hello semperkeith. The three vents in the middle of the dash are called by Ford the "upper storage compartment". The entire assembly (the vents and the storage compartment) is held in by 11 retaining clips along the edges. It will need to be removed to access the back of the vents. The vents are simply held in by 3 retaining tabs. Release the tabs and push the vent out the front of the panel. If you are interested, the vent on the left of the sterring wheel is much easier to access. Just remove the instrument end panel (size of a pack of cigarettes, to the left of the lighting switch and around the end of the instrument panel)(be carefull, it uses molded tabs to stay in place, not metal clips). Then reach in and release the 3 tabs, then push the vent out. -

Here is the URL for the 2014 Transit Connect. http://www.ford.com/commercial-trucks/transitconnect-commercial/2014/ . It looks like the front seats are mounted lower than the rear floor. The same as our current design.

Fuel Filler Door / Sliding Door Stop
103west43rd replied to kmoilan1's topic in Exterior Parts & Panels
Of the four "nibs" on my fuel door latch, two have cracks in the plastic around the nibs. I did notice the cracks very early in ownership. It has been over two years and the plastic around the other two nibs has not cracked. -
Sliding side doors - open position
103west43rd replied to Peabody's topic in Exterior Parts & Panels
Thanks for the reply. No, I never noticed the finger grips!! When my door is fully open, the finger grips and the interior door handle are at the rear edge of the door opening. When the door is pushed into the holding postion to stay open, both the finger grips and interior door handle are behind the rear edge of the door opening. I tried using the finger grips to close the door. Using the interior door handle seems safer.- 4 replies

Sliding side doors - open position
103west43rd replied to Peabody's topic in Exterior Parts & Panels
Interesting post. My 2010 XL wagon's door's open all the way. I do not have 255 degree doors. Here is a question for you......If you open your rear door's the full 255 degrees and then open your sliding side doors fully to the stop you described, how close are the edges of the two door's? If they come within an inch or two of each other, that would be the reason for the stop's being where they are. Let us know.- 4 replies

Fog Lights
103west43rd replied to Kenny B's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lights, Mirrors, Window Tint & Wipers
Welcome Stephen. This forum has become large enough that duplicate topics are being posted. A common occurance. Check the original Fog Lamp postings at Ford Transit Connect Forum → Ford Transit Connect: Exterior: Brakes, Cargo, Chassis, Glass, Lighting, Towing → Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages To those of us who were early adopters of the Transit Connect, fog lamps were a hot topic! Madlock started the above posting back in November 2009. You will find many ideas on a fog lamp solution in addition to this posting of Ken's very nice install. I did two different installs of fog lamps, my second install used Bulgarian copies of the factory lights. Read my postings and look at the pictures in my gallery. it will add to your knowledge. Good Luck! -
Tom, read my reply in your other post.

Hello Tom. First, find a new dealer. They should have searched the TSB's to find out how to program the readout on the gauge cluster to display the clock. The clock display in the cluster depends on the radio that is installed. If you have a AM/FM factory radio (without CD), it is programmed to display the time. If you have the radio with AM/FM and CD (which I guess you do), it is programmed to display distance to empty. After your new dealer re-programs the cluster to show the time, the clock on your radio will not keep the correct time or date. That should not be an issue, as you wrote, you cannot see it.

Lastly, thanks for posting your project! You are the first on this forum to install a Bull Bar! What model lights did you install?

Need help with modified wiring option
103west43rd replied to vintagegarage's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Vintagegarage, one remaining idea. There are two solid rubber grommets pluging unused (at least unused in my 2010) holes in the firewall behind and above the pedals. Take a look. if they have wiring going through them, that might be where your wiring goes from the fuse block to the engine compartment. -
Need help with modified wiring option
103west43rd replied to vintagegarage's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Vintagegarage, you may be on to something. I do not think Ford would put fuses in a circuit that is not terminated into some kind of load or switch. My 2010 wiring manual shows the three fuse positions you mention as "not used", a good sign. Just as information for our forum members, what does the "modified wiring option" supposed to control? -
Need help with modified wiring option
103west43rd replied to vintagegarage's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Hello vintagegarage, as per my 2010 wiring manual, "S" is for "Splices", "C" is for connectors. S113 is tough to access. it is UNDER the BJB (battery junction box) which is the fuse and relay box between the battery and the firewall. C205 is the connector to the main lighting switch, much easier to access. Remove the fuse panel cover under the lighting switch, reach in and above to the lighting switch and squeeze the top and bottom of the switch and push it out of the panel. Good Luck. -
Lasty, post a picture of your Transit Connect with the Bull Bar. Some of our forum members (myself included) have insalled the Aries Push Bar, you will be the first with a Bull Bar!!
-
Very Nice!!! Enjoy!!
-
Hello lasty. Take a look at the push bars from Aries and Setina. The Aries is a much lower profile. I have it on my Transit Connect. The Setina is full size similar in size to what you are looking for. What is the shipping cost from the UK on the Bull Bar? I have not read of any forum members that have imported a Bull Bar from the UK. An educated guess would be it would fit. Any differences between right/left hand drive, and diesel/gas engines would seem to not make any difference on where the Bull Bar would mount. You should ask the seller if they have sold any to US customers. Good Luck.

Is there a demand for a poptop?
103west43rd replied to xoo00oox's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Andrew, nice work. Keep in mind, this is the last year for the present design Transit Connect. 2014 will bring the new design. There may not be enough 2010-2013 Transit Connects to make your start up investment worth it. The present design has been in Europe for many more years. How many VW Vanagon's were sold in the US? Transit Connect sales are 30,000+ a year. Too bad the shipping costs would prevent the European Transit Connect owners from buying your camper roof. -
For Sale Transit Connect T200 110 Sport Van TDCI
103west43rd replied to matthewjtalbot's topic in Transit Connects For Sale
Matt, very nice Transit Connect. The problem is, this is the US Transit Connect site. I doubt if any of our forum members would import your van, even as nice as it is!!!!! Try posting it on the UK Transit Connect site, http://fordtransit.org . Good Luck.
