What I must concern to drive Ford CNG TC? Any hidden cost?
dinocarsfast replied to toddy's topic in Work Solutions
Back to the original post a CNG TC is nothing to be afraid of, I think all are dual fuel. Meaning they are sold new as gasoline with a tank like normal under the vehicle then an aftermarket installer installs the CNG or LP tanks in the cargo area and the vehicle has a switch to change fuel types. -
I ordered this cluster, thanks Don! Now I will have to find time to replace it. I already have the buttons on the steering wheel from a cruise control upgrade

On that note "huge" or super wide tires wont help a car corner faster, in the same way the a solid axle or welded diff wont help it corner faster. LUDICROUS!

True if anyone thinks a big wing on the back is to help launch a rwd car faster they are very wrong! At the speed when a wing or spoiler is functional the torque available to the wheels is much less because of the higher transmission gear. So it does little for straight line acceleration in a fwd or rwd car and only slows the car down at higher speeds. But do I think having a big wing on the back of a street car is stupid? Yes I think its a waste of time regardless of if its a fwd or rwd car, mostly because it only causes higher fuel consumption and reduces the top speed.

Is it normal for wheels to lift off ground?
dinocarsfast replied to DanDweller's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I had this happen recently leaving a store and driving at an angle so that the front bumper didnt scrape but yeah I think the front wheel got off the ground because of the wedge ? -
I still have snow tires on my vehicle and I am in California and my summer tires are in Wisconsin and I dont have any plans to go to Wisconsin soon. I am trying to weight my options of shipping mine from Wisconsin or getting another set.

Does anyone by chance have an extra spare tire jack? My vehicle doesnt have one and never did since I have owned it and the cheapest I have seen is like $60 on ebay
-
I think the bulletin is only for older vehicles because the BCM needs to be updated so that the parameter is changeable. In newer vehicles it already has the updated software and they should be able to change the settings in the central configuration without much work. But I might be wrong about all of this also, good luck

I have one, and plan to get two CO detectors, so I think it will be one less thing to worry about

I took a video today, so here you go ? Also if anyone doesnt know what a webasto style heater is here is another link. I chose it because the combustion chamber exhaust is outside the vehicle unlike a catalytic heater and the result is reduced moisture in the cabin
-
I connected it into the gas tank and and the exhaust is seperate. I think you would have heat under the fake floor of the cargo. I didnt go that route because I removed that section for more space.

I have a webasto heater in mine. I welded a box for it and put it under the vehicle next to the spare tire on the right side. Kind of more work than necessary but I'm happy with the result.

Will 8s4p-7000-fa transmission work

I'm not sure specifically but I usually use car-part.com to find parts and cross reference compatibility -
That procedure works if you are rotating the tires, then it will know the front from the back because of the different tire pressure settings. But when I first installed snow tires on a spare set of rims I needed to perform the longer procedure that is as follows because of the new sensors; 1) Make sure all tires are inflated to the vehicle’s recommended inflation pressures (found in the owner’s manual on the door placard). 2) Turn the ignition switch to OFF then press and release the brake pedal. 3) Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN (engine OFF) 3 times, ending in the RUN position. Do this within 10 seconds. 4) Press and release the brake pedal. 5) Turn the ignition switch back to OFF. 6) Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN (engine OFF) 3 times, ending in the RUN position. Do this within 10 seconds. 7) The horn should sound letting you know the vehicle has entered into TPMS relearn mode. ? Place the top of the TPMS triggering tool against the sidewall of the driver’s side front tire in the location of the valve stem. Press the left button, wait until the horn sounds, then press the right button to turn the tool off. 9.) Once the horn sounds, move on to the passenger side front tire and repeat the process. Each tire should only take 30 seconds or less. 10) After the passenger side front tire has been learned, continue on to the passenger side rear tire and finishing with the driver’s side rear tire. 11) You may now turn the ignition to OFF. If the horn does not sound, the sensors were learned successfully. If the horn sounds twice, then the process must be repeated because there was a malfunction. If you dont have the TPMS triggering tool people say you can trigger each wheel by letting air out but I just bought the tool, its like $30 or something. I hope this helps

Nice work, yours is the first time I've seen someone else that welded a rack on this site. I welded my roof-rack too but havent posted any pictures yet, maybe soon.

I got the cruise control to work yesterday. I did not need to replace anything but the steering wheel and I have a base cluster. I previously used IDS version 101 and did not have any luck it had some bugs with reading the central configuration in my vehicle or maybe the problem was with vcm clone, idk. But with IDS version 109 it worked better. I was able to read the central configuration and it showed all the features but I still had problems downloading to the vehicle. after editing it. The way that I was able to successfully save the changes was to make the changes in the as-built file and upload that entire file from my computer. If anyone would like more detail or I can send the .xml files directly contact me via private message. I cant wait to drive this more now that I have cruise control and it only cost $60 ?

Engine runs rough at idle, idles too low
dinocarsfast replied to Doc Hoy's topic in Maintenance
Check the catalytic converter if it was melted. To do this get under the vehicle and bang on the cat with a mallet or your hand, if you hear any rattling inside the cat it was likely melted and the honeycomb is loose and not allowing good flow.- 50 replies

Why do you think the tire was a blowout? Blowouts are rare, this looks like the tire was driven on while it was flat, way to many drivers today are too stupid or too lazy to replace a tire and then they are not repairable like this.
