  1. Possible. Your van left the assembly line, and shipped to U.S.A. with windows. The windows were removed once the vans arrived in the U.S.A., and then those panels were glued in. All Transit Connects arrived in U.S.A. as wagons. Then they are stripped down and converted to vans. Unfortunately, all of those seats, windows, interior, headliners, et cetera, are destroyed and recycled. To my knowledge, none of those parts are saved for resale. Buyers of vans who want windows are left to look in the aftermarket, while the OEM parts are being disposed of.
  2. It may very well be that your alignment was bad. There is always the option of having the vehicle inspected by another shop.

  6. Not a very good solution, but I bought one of those light bar mounts that attaches to the license plate. And since I was already running wires, and the plastic trim was removed, I added side markers to the circuit.
  7. The difficult part is driving the car down the hallway, and through the apartment door. Fellow tenants are already reporting it, every time that I do that with my Harley. Property management posted a notice in the laundry room, stating that tenants are not allowed to rev their V-Twins after 9 o'clock. My burnouts in the hallways has already done a number on the high tread carpeting. It is a unique location. There is a flock of hundreds of wild parrots, which became the subject of a movie. The Peregrine Falcons that live in the area provide a side show when they hunt the pigeons. Coyotes keep the raccoon & feral cat population in check, as well as toy breed dogs that the rich ladies like to flaunt. Animal Care & Control officers have told me that local surveillance cameras have picked up a mountain lion in the area. Strange that the dog catchers in this town also have badges, guns, and powers of arrest.
  8. With the door open, the little plastic exterior trim piece comes right off with a trim removal tool. With the door open, you can also ease out the door trim, which will allow you access to the A-pillar interior trim. The only issue with lights along the bumper is worrying about them being knocked off by people parallel parking by braille, as they back into your bumper. What kind of lights are you planning on installing. How are you mounting them? Do you have enough access in the mounting location to fasten the nut onto the bolt?
  9. https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/vehicle-features/engine/know-when-to-change-your-engine-oil.html Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor IOLM is a feature found in your vehicle’s instrument cluster message center. IOLM notifies you at key oil change intervals by displaying alerts such as “Engine Oil Change Soon” or “Oil Change Required.” The system also alerts you when your fuel filters need maintenance or fuel pressure is low. IOLM uses an algorithm to calculate your oil change intervals based on actual engine operating conditions. The system must be reset after each oil change. Not doing so will result in a premature “Oil Change Required” alert. For specific IOLM applications, please refer to your Owner's Manual. IOLM is now available in the majority of 2011 and later model-year Ford vehicles. Synthetic oil and the IOLM Ford engines have been tested using Motorcraft® Synthetic Blended Oils. If you use synthetic oil, it must meet Ford specifications for motor oil and the specific oil weight as indicated in your Owner’s Guide. Ford still recommends using the oil change service intervals as indicated by the IOLM.
  10. Let me know, if at 7,000 to 10,000 miles, your dash displays indicates that you need an oil change. That means the tech at the dealership "forgot" to reset your "Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor". I still don't trust that onboard computer to tell me when to change my oil. Checked the dipstick today. Changed oil about 1,000 miles ago. Still very clean. Almost like new. What I have come to expect from using synthetic oil. In the old days of using dinosaur juice, 1,000 miles would make your oil look like it needed to be changed again. That was also back when people did oil changes every 3 months, or 3,000 miles.
  11. There is a protest every day at my front door. But that is part of Life In The Big City. Don't even ask about the price per square foot. But when you are directly across the street from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, it is the safest block in town. Cops from every agency on the West Coast, including the dental school police from 2 hours away, are assigned on loan for security. And there is always an airship hovering. The Feds occupy several of the apartments in the building......some for surveillance vantage paints, a few probably are used as sniper nest, and a bunch of them have bunks & showers for the cops that live too far to go home everyday. The other day, one of them mentioned that he may want to borrow some tools, so that he could at least do an oil change & rotate the tires, before he drives hundreds of miles back home. This is the view from my unit.
  12. Hmmmm......thinking about how my brother in law drives about 600 miles daily, that is 3,000 miles a week. Imagine that yearly oil change. My daily commute in my own vehicle is only 20 miles round trip. It would take 2 years before I get 10,000 miles.
  13. I average 200 miles a day. 1,000 miles a week. 52,000 miles a year.
  14. Property Management will not allow me to install a lift in my apartment, on the 13th floor, across the street from ICE headquarters.
  15. I just can't get excited over hubcaps. I can see buying new wheels, if there is a performance advantage. Lighter.. Bigger wheel for a lower profile tire. Different dimensions to allow for bigger brakes. I get it. Some people get rims just because they enjoy the aesthetic. But who buys hubcaps because they look good?
  16. I think I'll take that leftover 0.3 quart, and just pour it into the engine. It's doing nothing for me by just sitting on the shelf.
  17. This is the reason that I bought 4 UniJacks. 1 under each jack point.
  18. BP was Anglo Iranian Oil Company....back in 'da day. I am guessing that there has to be some fine print, which limits the number of miles driven within 1 calendar year, and excludes any commercial vehicle, vehicle with extended idle, towing, off-road use, racing, et cetera. Surely you couldn't use that oil for 1 year, in every vehicle. I think that almost every synthetic oil is good for 10,000 miles. But most of them will still suggest that you follow your manufacturer's guideline for oil change intervals.
  19. Sam exact tool labeled for brand name seller: 2T Double Ram Bottle Jack Item# TF0202 Description 1. Dual-stage, steel hardened rams allow for longer travel. Lower retracted heights and higher extended heights. Heat treated saddle provides generous lifting area and secure grip. 2. A wide, rugged base provides stability and strength . Safety bypass valves prevent overloading. Specification Capacity: 4,000 lbs Lifting range: 5-7/8" to 14-9/16"
  20. In the event that anyone is interested in acquiring one of these, and you don't see enough pics online, I am attaching photos. Through one of my contacts, I got a generic labeled item from the same factory which produces the same exact jack for known name brands. From my initial inspection, this item appears as if it is every bit capable of lifting the Transit Connect. With the knowledge that no matter which brand you buy, they all come from the same factory, you can make a wiser decision based upon pricing, availability, product support, and seller's warranty. As with all bottle jacks, you can own it forever if you inspect it for leaks and replace seals as needed, keep it clean and lubricate all moving parts, change hydraulic fluid as needed, purge excess air from hydraulic system, and keep the fluid level topped off.
  21. I love Las Vegas. Free booze = drunk chicks!
