If you look on the ring is there one or two dots on the top of the ring? I suspect the Silver one will have 1 dot on it and the Black one will have 2 dots. If that is the case 1 dot is the top ring. The oil ring rails are Staggered at least 20 mm or more apart with the ring gaps 120 Degrees apart. Take your time. plastigage the rod bearing so there are no surprises. Take your time!

Half beam problems with newly bought TC 2014 L1
G B L replied to CrazyCharlie's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
I did not have the Video when I read the post. The Adjustment I proposed was for the beam being too low. Does the High beam dim also or is it only the Low beams? Does the Van have auto headlights ? Do you have Access to a Volt Meter that could be Plugged into the Power socket That could see a Voltage change when the lights dim Sounds like the Alternator has an issue . Can't wait for the rest of the story -

Nice Job on the tint Here's a Web address for the rules in your state (tintlaws.com/) -
I had to check they are mounted in the Sliding doors at the front and the same hight as the front doors. The power for the Windows and the Speaker wires and the door locks goes Through a wire zipper at the bottom of the door. Quite nicely done.

I did not count the ones by the Mirrors so I just got an upgade. Thanks!

The engine Warms up Fast . I think that they want a fast warm up for emissions purposes. The Heat now that I understand how it works is very good and does a great job. The fan could have been less noisy ! The Wagon has 4 Speakers and a fader . Sound is Good , not high end but good. The Headliner that is in the Wagon makes a lot of of Difference.

Looks good, Take your time and it will turn out great, Mark every thing you Torque up with a chalk or paint stick so when you get a Phone call in the middle you don' loose your place. Change the water pump also. You are in the Tunnel soon you will see the light.
-
Sounds Like a good plan. You will do the front engine seal when the timing cover is off. Don't forget the rezr main seal. A water pump is easy while you are there. You might want to look at the transmission seals while the engine is out. You are all in now!

Half beam problems with newly bought TC 2014 L1
G B L replied to CrazyCharlie's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
Park 25 feet from a wall when it is getting dark an adjust the lo beams with adjusting screws that are on the top of each light, The adjusters are plastic use finesse and the lights will be fine. If you get flashed alot you went to far and need to lower them a little. -
I have watched both of those videos, he does a good job. When the old parts are shown they do not look very warn, The drain and refill is a very easy proceedure, and it has been my experience that changing the fluid is more important than the filter change. I think the earlier fix they use is not the whole issue and they are still working on the real fix Ford like every one else is trying to make the car somthing that most of the drivers do not think about. Not a good plan. The leak on mine continues to be slight. I have been checking the level, every 1500 miles. Thinking about the dipstick issue will keep everyone posted

Head is off, New exhaust valves easy to do while it is at the Machine shop. Look at the bearings, rods and mains Is there a ridge at the top of the cylinder? watch the parts cost, a reman is around 2500. keep up the good work

I have the replacement part they issued for the Escape recall. Wanted to see what it looked like I an not convinced that the surface finish is the whole issue. My leak is small. The kit for the escape was the inner CV Joint, a bushing and the seal. The right side has the same seal, and there is not any evidence of a right side seal problems Still thinking about the issue. You know if there was an easy way to check the fluid level this issue would be much smaller. Cheers!

I also think that the vans that are destined to be Work Vans and not wagons get a totally different looking set of Passenger seats and appointments than the real wagon versions. With the Solid rear Quarter panels . Would like to see Your truck as it came off the boat.

escobar Any more progress?

If you were to take out the mat and Pull the bolts 15 Dan15's Titanium's Floor is what your van will look like with the platform Removed .
-
EvilRobot is from Canada and the Chicken tax Rules might be Different so he could have a Euro work Van Welded Platform No bolts Cheaper Platform in the car when painted. Still about the money

Cool I think it might be a California thing. Vermont might not be on their Radar. Make sure you Get the Credentials of the third party. If you do. Find out what information they are getting. I would be interested to know what they can get on the laptop and is it different than a Scan Tool information

I look forward to the up dates Keep them comming Thanks

This is the same fix that they did for the Escape, the Kit includes a Seal and Bushing in the transmission and a new inner CV Joint. There is a good Video of the procedure on U Tube. I watched it and the parts that they took out did not look bad I have purchased the CV kit just to see what it was . Cheap because of the Recall. I am charting the Leak rate and it seems to Be in the 2-4 Oz range in 3500-4000 mile range. You need to find out How much your TC leaks so you will feel comfortable waiting for the Real fix. My Trans is shifting nicely and I am not going to let a well meaning under trained Ford Teck muck with the Gear box.
-
Sounds like a good plan Keep a check on the level and no damage will be done. If there was a dipstick this would a minor inconvenience. I have had lots of cars with lots of miles that used some fluid. No big deal
-
daneli hope it is small, I think that ford does not under stand this yet. If the leak is small then puting a new seal with the old design may not help. But making them aware that there is a big problem will speed the redesign. Interesred in what you find out.

A spring Bonus Nice

I think the engine wants to come out the Bottom with the Trans. not totally sure. You should be able to unbolt the AC compressor and tie it off with out discharging it Advanced does not have that slide hammer? The cost of Doing a recon on your engine will cost a lot of money . If you need a piston or a cylinder head it will approach the factory Recon fast. That engine on eBay Came out of a focus Wreck and could run perfect 80000 miles is 2000 hours half of what your engine has on it Keep up the good work . You will know more when the engine is out
-
daneli Did you check the level and how much did fluid did it need
-
I feel for you how much oil have you added to keep the level up? As for the Transmission Shifting in Cruse . The Computer will try so hard to keep the speed perfect it will even put the brakes on going down hill. It took a while to figure out what was going on. I proved it by hitting the Cancel tab as I came over the top and let it coast on the down hill and no abrupt movements by the car. I can't wait for the results Did they show you the old seal and Bushing and CV joint? Would love to see a Picture Keep us posted
