MLB
No matter how careful I am, I can't remove the oil dipstick to check the level without smearing the oil way passed the full mark, making it un-useable. I've tried angling it every direction as it's pulled out and nothing seems to help. Help?
mrtn
wait until it's cold and drained. You'll get the reading in the first check. jrm223
Don Ridley
I have the same issue. Waiting until the engine is cold works well and as the oil gets older it's easier to see. But it is tough to read after an oil change. Definitely a change from previous vehicles where the oil was thick and dark all the time. mrtn
I guess the 2.5 dipstick is different. 1.6's one is very easy to read even when hot. I too have difficulties reading any of my current and previous Hondas' dipsticks. They're orange and plastic. Oil does not stick well to these, just runs all over. Fifty150
My dipstick reads fine. Engine cold. On level surface.
