Beta Don
Are they different from the wheel covers on my 2014? They make a tool just for this - A flat pry bar to get them off and a rubber hammer for putting them back on https://www.walmart.com/ip/STEELMAN-75031-Hub-Cap-Remover/39587012?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227027841724&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=59329795848&wl4=pla-84332961168&wl5=9014056&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=39587012&wl13=&veh=sem Don
Willygee
I think he is talking about the fender liners..not wheel covers..could be wrong
Beta Don
Duh! - I didn't read that right, did I? The fender liners are not that hard to remove. Once you take off the tire/wheel, it's only a few Torx head screws to get the liners out of there. I've taken out both of mine replacing the fog lights with new units which are both DRL's and fog lights Don
Willygee
Don..did you find much debris in there?
strobz
Hey sorry I should have specified what I was talking about more. I'm talking about the black plastic covers on the inside over the wheel wells. windguy
JoeMan
There held in by plastic clips all around the edges. Your best bet is to get a cheap set of plastic interior panel tools. They come in handy if you plan on doing any interior mods. It makes trim pieces a lot simpler to remove with minimal damage to things, usually. Then starting at the loose area just pop it off one clip at a time by pulling on the panel, some clips you might reach with the tool some not. Works for me and have never broken anything yet removing them twice.

Any idea how to remove the black arm from the circular clip with out bending them too much?

Slide the tool between the two and pop the clip out of the sheet metal. The white clip looks something like this generic pic below. windguy

windguy
Great thread as I have the same question. Looking at the pics that Strobz posted and Desert_connect's pics of the fastener and description of how to remove is very helpful. I think I get it. I hate breaking parts and creating collateral damage. I bought a small panel tool remover kit with some plastic tools and the metal claw one that's pictured so I'm ready to give this a try. Many thanks!
