Anthony Field Posted May 27, 2014 Share Posted May 27, 2014 Hi I'm thinking of getting a connect van, I have a Citreon berlingo at the minute but it's been nothing but trouble and willing to take a hit and trade in for a connect, only problem is I will have it for 5 years due to money being passed onto the agreement from the Citreon. Willie Posted June 2, 2014 Share Posted June 2, 2014 I guess most of us are happy with our Connects but that doesn't mean you would be. You should drive one and look it over for yourself. Common complaints, none of which bother me, are lack of acceleration, too much road noise, not enough luxury touches. If those things are important to you, perhaps the TC will not suit you either. BSUPC Posted June 3, 2014 Share Posted June 3, 2014 The TC could use a little more power for pulling up a hill with a load in the back, but I am in no big hurry to get there so it really does not bother me to much. I have a rule where i refuse to go over 65mph no matter what the sign says. 70mph sign and I am doing 65. This would be 55 instead of 65 if the Highway Patrol did not like writing those stupid impeding traffic tickets for going to slow on the interstate. Other than that my complaint is the radio and speakers. For just putting around town on short trips it is not bad. But for my 300 miles a night rout, I like to play it loud and hear the base and such as I drive. This setup sucks for that. But I will get that corrected as soon as the cash comes in. hollowwood Posted July 6, 2014 Share Posted July 6, 2014 I have a 2012 Wagon. It took us and a 5'x14' trailer with all our belongings 4400 miles to Hollis, Alaska, on Prince Of Wales Island. We had the trailer dead xed fpr the run to California. From there to Washington to a ferry with a slightly lightened load. We had, and I think still have, the only TC Wagon here. We have met more people who wanted to know what it was and where they could get one. Except for the traction control that you can not disengage for deep snow and mud, I have zero complaints. I get close to 30mpg. As gas is now going for $4.57.9 per gal. here, I like being thrifty. The previous gen Berlingo which I swapped for a new Connect after realizing it won't work (for other than pizza delivery that is). I also went to try out the current Berlingo (was considerably cheaper fully loaded, about 8K) but it also failed to deliver. These are different classes, Connects are work trucks by all characteristics among small vans, can carry double the payload of Berlingo and you can feel that.
