Anyone have a recommendation for some decent looking 16" all black wheel covers for steel wheels? Anyone ever paint the factory silver ones? Did it last or or fail quickly...?

Does the little metal bit pivot? Could you insert something into it and make the hole point more towards the glass? -

I get the same thing. But once I log in, everything looks normal. -
The dealer I used, in a neighboring state, had to get mine from another dealer 2 1/2 hours away. I put feelers out in three states. They found several red ones loaded with other options, but not cruise control. I don't understand that, at all. Who would want a loaded van without cruise control!?

Mine was near worn out. Near 200k. Needed brakes and tires etc... Was nice for what it was. Had it for 8 years but glad to upsize to a cargo van.

Man you got lucky. I really wanted a red one but couldn't find one with Cruise control. Back in March I was told my only option was to order. I considered it but found a creeper white one with all the options I wanted and got that instead. So glad I decided against ordering. My 2011 HHR wouldn't have ever made it all the way to the end of the year!

Hmmmm. That's a good idea! I've got some old license plates that I could use, rather than fabing something from plate. My plate is already in one of these to protect the body paint. Amazon.com: XCLPF Silicone Black License Plate Frame Covers 2 Pack- Front and Back Car Plate Bracket Holders. Rust-Proof, Rattle-Proof, Weather-Proof ( Black): Automotive I might be able to squeeze both plates into it for a neater look...

I didn't want to listen to D-rings flapping around so I bought a bunch of fixed M6 & M10 Lifting Ring Eye Bolts on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PPMR8D8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MFGWXQX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I need to test #3 again. I checked it with the ignition switch in the ON position without actually starting the engine. I realized today that the rear 12v socket doesn't energize until the engine is actually running, so #3 may also be like that too...

10 & 23. More for convenience in placing the adapters than anything else. My camera is supposed to have a G-shock sensor that would turn it on in the event of an impact. Without an ignition switch controlled power source the camera will always be running now. It is supposed to shut down when the battery gets to 11.8V, so I will have to trust that. Otherwise, I will have to unplug the power cord from the camera if it becomes a problem... Number 3 was the one that was always dead. I see why now as I don't have parking assist. I have to wonder why there is a fuse in that location!

Turns out the hard part is finding one that isn't always hot! The one fuse I found that wasn't always on, didn't power up with the ignition switch...
-
My dash cam requires one always on power source and a separate one turned on with the ignition switch. I'm hoping to just use a piggy back adapter for both in the interior fuse box. (2021 Cargo van) Does anyone already know of a specific fuse that is always on? Or, a better mapped out description of which fuse controls what? The diagram in the 2021 owners manual is seriously unhelpful...

Yep. Too new. Gota wait to get it added now.

Yep. 2021. Thanks for the tip.

Forscan doesn't find my PCM. I've got the as built info, but it doesn't show anything for the PCM! Anyone know how to identify the PCM p/n?

Turn on all interior lights (2016)
BSJBSJ replied to Don Ridley's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Found a red LED that works in the Dome light. 194 CAN Bus LED Bulb - 5 SMD LED Tower - Miniature Wedge Base | Super Bright LEDs The previous rear light I posted is pretty bright. Probably even too bright for protecting full dark adaptation while doing Astronomy... I had these in my previous car and they are dim enough for Astronomy. 578 LED Bulb - 9 LED Festoon - 44mm | Super Bright LEDs Sadly discontinued, but maybe available elsewhere. -
Knowing the OEM LED was WAY bright, I specifically chose to not get the OEM LED light in my van so that I could replace the incandescent bulb with a 42mm Festoon style LED. Red in my case for protecting my night vision while doing remote astronomy. Perhaps you could retrofit the OEM incandescent fixture and choose a dimer white LED or another color. I got a second used OEM incandescent fixture off eBay for $20ish... I also figured out how to wire the rear light to the front dome light so that I can manually turn one of the rear lights off and on from the front seat. https://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/6031-turn-on-all-interior-lights-2016/?page=2 I've got a not too bright red LED in the original "automatic" fixture, and a brighter red LED in the one that I can control manually. If I need more light than the automatic light puts out, I can turn on the brighter second one on as well. I want a red led in the front dome light as well, but the first one I found blocks the key fob signal, so I'm waiting for the next one to arrive...

Turn on all interior lights (2016)
BSJBSJ replied to Don Ridley's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Somebody on Amazon said the light was interfering with their car's fob and I wondered if it might be the root of my problems too. Yep. Must be pumping out the radio power, or the van's receiver is close to the light. -

Another bummer. I was having intermittent troubles with the fob locking and unlocking the doors. Turns out that the LED bulb in the Dome light completely blocks the fob! I thought maybe the locks were on a timer or something for "safety". I only had the van for a couple days before adding the LEDs so I didn't realize the light being off had anything to do with the non-functioning locks. D'oh! -

These are the LEDs that worked for me. They do dim as they are going off... Dome (DO NOT USE blocks fob signal!) AmazonSmile: Phinlion 194 LED Red Super Bright Wedge 168 2825 175 T10 15-SMD 4014 Chipsets LED Replacement Bulbs for Car Side Marker Dome Map Reading Courtesy Tail License Plate Lights: Automotive Cargo area. I use red lights to save my night vision when I'm doing Astronomy. The above LEDs are almost too bright! I put tape on the end of the dome light so that the side lights are the only ones illuminated. I may need to turn the rear lights around backwards to lessen their brightness as well. I also like being able to just have one illuminate if I override the dome and second rear light with the three-way switch. Now to tackle the approach lights via forscan... Fingers crossed!
