You once claimed you damaged your windshield when you tried to remove the tint. Why is that? -

Riv nuts or plus nuts for existing holes
BSJBSJ replied to Chip's topic in Transit Connect Member Custom Builds
There are already some m10 and m6 threaded holes in the upper back sides and above the side doors. I just installed some more m6 rivet nuts at the rear bottom sides, in existing holes, by the back doors. The center cross beam has two existing holes that will fit m8 rivet nuts. The others are too small for m6. I would have to drill more holes or enlarge what's already there. The two m8s are enough for me in that location so I don't see adding more nuts. I wouldn't go smaller than m6 unless it was meant for very light weight things. I used this tool. Amazon.com: Rivet Nut Tool, 13" Hand Rivnut Tool Kit with 7 Metric & Inch Mandrel M5 M6 M8 M10,10-24,1/4-20,5/16-18, Nutsert Rivet Tool Set with 35 Pcs Assorted Rivnuts, ORFELD Threaded Insert Hand Riveter : Automotive Decent quality. Has worked well for the m6 stainless nuts that I've installed. Similar to these. No. Just rubbed it and left noticeable scuff marks. First "scratch" on the 1.25 year old vehicle. Detailed it less than 12 hours before hand. I knew I was tempting fate by cleaning it!!!

Use whatever is recommended in your manual. They were making a joke about misspelling Mobil with Mobile.

Someone backed into my 2021. They just rubbed the corner cap(?) and the rear bumper. Thankfully missed all metal! Is it fairly easy to replace the bumper and corner part? Insurance is covering it. But I could get myself paid to replace the parts rather than a shop... Are there any hidden gotchas?

I managed to break the radio antenna on my 2021 cargo van. Has anyone replaced theirs with something as effective as the OEM, but not so skinny and fragile? And or more flexible...?

TC XLT 2016 rear caliper and brake questions?
BSJBSJ replied to Willygee's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Ford Dealer just told me that I need new rear pads and rotors on my 2021, with just 17000 miles on it. Have had it for 13 months. 1/2"-1" ring of rust on the outer part of one rotor! Says rust is an "environmental" issue and is not covered by the warranty. Really quite pissed about this. $500! Said I should call Ford and complain and see if they will pay to get them replaced anyway. -
The Front ones do add a little protection. Especially when the wheels are turned. But I couldn't see how the rears would do anything but collect mud or ice.
-
They are pretty small and hardly noticeable. I only added them to the front on my 2021 to protect the rocker panels a little. The backs looked too small to really do anything other than collect slush or mud that could have just been left on the road. Kinda disappointed in how they connect to the wheel well too. Short screws and not super secure afterwards. Looks wise, they don't really add anything. Functionality, not so much either...

You can get two Right blades here. Amazon.com: AERO Avenger 28"+28" Premium All-Season Beam Windshield Wiper Blades OEM Replacement for Ford Transit Connect 2021-2014 (Set of 2) : Automotive It is possible to disassemble one of them and make it a Left. Why would anyone expect a wiper to last two years? Or even one for that matter! I replace mine twice a year. In the Spring after a Winter of sand and salt and and then in the Fall after a long hot Summer. Same for air filters... Why put up with streaks in an attempt to safe a few buck? Left and a right for the cost of two rights... Amazon.com: Motorcraft WW2953 Wiper Blade Assembly : Automotive Amazon.com: Motorcraft WW2954 Wiper Blade Assembly : Automotive
