2014+ Lowering Springs
Project bike truck replied to DapperVan's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I never got rear shocks and I know I need to. I was going to try and figure out a shock length for a KYB or something rather than the adjustable ones. But it definitely needs shorter shocks. They bottom out without it. -
Holy S&@t! I found out after a ton of research that the lower rear mount is the same as the Focus ST. lots of implications here. I used the Cobb mount and damn that thing made a world of difference. I’m blown away. I was going to go back to Ford and complain about how my trans was shifting. Nope just sloppy ass engine/trans mounts. This takes longer to jack the car up then it does to swap the mount. The original mount I can move with my thumbs. I don’t get why they would think that’s okay. now that being said it’s a vibration station for sure and they say they take a month to break in so I’ll see what happens. It vibrates at idle and and with the A/C on. But the changes it made are insane. This thing is fun to drive now. The Focus Electric Mount would most likely the best option if you don’t want to deal with NVH. Mountune makes one that has less NVH than COBB and there is some others and even inserts for your stock Mount. The scum “mechanic” stripped the frame to side mount bolts on my top passenger side mount and used a nut as a spacer. Hack! now get to swapping mounts.

GOT IT!!!

I second this, I have these same ones, they do not flicker, fit poorly or any of the above-stated issues and they do allow me to see better at night and on the highway. -
I don't visit that often because of this and its the same 2 or 3 people replying on each thread. not much in the way of diversity or different ideas.

I just had the solenoids replaced at 35k over Christmas break. drives a million times better. They didn't do any clutches or anything else while I was there. They did complain about my van being lowered and the rear springs coming out.

https://ford.oemdtc.com/1621/harsh-reverse-engagement-andor-harsh-or-delayed-shift-into-3rd-andor-5th-gear-2014-2016-ford-lincoln Known problem with the solenoids on these transmissions. There is an S/B on it. I'm trying to get it performed as we speak. But sounds like a broken axle will solve your issue.

I drive a mix of city and highway. I have a 2014 XLT SWB with a 1.6l Ecoboost, K&N filter, ST 18's and its lowered. I drive like a grandma and i get 19 MPG on average. Only on long drives do I get up into the 24-26 range. I love my van but the MPG is the only downfall.

Where the plug is on the end of the filter, it has filter media. It would only draw warm air from the engine compartment. I was wondering if the intercooler would be able to compensate for the potential warm air. -

I installed this last night. Took longer to get my tools out than it did to install. I noticed in the above post the filter box was left open. This filter has a rubber plug on it. While I understand the sealed box, I wonder if leaving the plug off would make a difference like the open box lid. -
that van looks great!

2014+ Lowering Springs
Project bike truck replied to DapperVan's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
that's a negative. seems to be a non-issue. but that being said I have lowered just about every vehicle I owned for the last 25 years. it rides a little stiffer, that's expected and okay with me. -

2014+ Lowering Springs
Project bike truck replied to DapperVan's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Well I did the driveway install this weekend. It was my father’s day present to get some time to install the springs. What a pain to take the cowel apart and take the wipers out. Poweder coat or what ever they used on the springs was not evenly coated. But all in all seams okay. Rides a bit stiffer and seams to handle good. And the springs got here in 3 days. -

Just wanted to follow up. I never heard back from the guys at Eibach. reached out with many emails and contacted people I know that know him. ZERO customer service. I reached out to Eibach in Germany and they never responded too. Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up, I know mine was. I'm super let down and pissed. That being said I ordered a set from MYC. -

I have done some research and trying to find out if the intercoolers are the same. spoke with Cobb Tunning and they could not confirm but sent me the engineers print! I went to Ford's website and looked up the intercooler for the Fiesta 1.6l and the EcoBoost to see if they were the same, sure enough on their website they are listed as the same part number. as soon as i can pony up, after springs and other mods, I'm going to get the Cobb intercooler. This got me thinking and researching for days, i hope they don't monitor my internet traffic at work. looking at the intercooler and hard pipe kit from Mountune or just a Cobb intercooler that's free HP. the size and mounts look close to the transit connect. Also, want the Catch cans for sure. I will be getting the K&N for sure. http://www.mountuneusa.com/mountune-complete-Intercooler-Upgrade-Fiesta-ST-p/2364-ick-aa.htm https://www.cobbtuning.com/products/cooling/ford-front-mount-intercooler-kit-fiesta-st-2014-201 https://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=57S-4000&vw=all -
Pardon if this has been brought up before, Can I get body color caps for my XLT wagon non-power folding mirrors? I see its an option on the Titanium models.
