  1. I would recommend getting a CARFAX type report for the van so you can learn about the history, service records, etc. Since the van is at dealership, they probably already have that report and should be willing to share it with you if they are reputable. You can also ask the dealer if the van was serviced with them and provide service records. Good luck!
  2. Same question was asked back on 06/09/22. See thread link below. Perhaps you can PM that person to see if they figured out the part number. Good luck!
  3. Interesting proposal. Sounds like a scene from an A-Team episode. Love that show. Poster SKIZO has a Gen 1 like you and added some nice rear windows. See link to his gallery below. But this would fall under a camper window category that you seem to be discounting. I have no idea what these windows cost. Maybe the suppliers have a close out on a some models or returns that you can get for less. It's worth checking into. A ready made RV type auto glass window will provide a nice waterproof seal. Are there junkyards for RVs? Would a backup camera satisfy your need to see out back? Just exploring ideas. Good luck!
  4. Glad to hear it. Well done. Please keep us updated on your upgrades, with pics of course. And here I was worried you were going to trade your TC in for a Subaru. Silly me!
  5. Speaking of pointless & useless, what are you doing back on the forum? I thought you went all poster non-grata and deleted your existence off this forum a few days ago, no? This is not good for my whiplash.
  6. @superregularla Do some searching on this forum and you may answer your own question. Search bar is in the upper right corner of the page. Sample thread below. Good luck!
  7. Congrats and welcome - sharp looking Gen 1
  8. @chip - nice job, thanks for sharing. Hope it works out good for you. I admire your perseverance. BTW - I like that carpet you have on the cargo floor. Very classy. I went with stock Home Depot dark gray off the bulk roll. I second Don's suggestion for getting those removal tools. On Don's recommendation to get them years ago, I have used them many times. Also for non-auto use when you need a strong plastic scraper that won't damage a surface, like porcelain.
  9. @Campervanman - Thanks for sharing your build info. Great job, craftsmanship, creativity. Short of a flux capacitor you seem to have everything you need. Although you don't mention it, or I missed it, you must have a porta-potty stashed away.
  10. My 2015 Cargo has a holder for the hook near the jack. Perhaps your model year has the same.
  11. Did you try the tip that poster Willygee did with the parking brake? Perhaps you both have the same seat config in your XL model and need to do this step. Good luck!
  12. @kookmyersSorry to hear you're having this problem. It sounds (or lack of) that your speakers are the problem. Checking the resistance may help you determine if it is the speaker and which one. Seems like the rear speaker would be in the same location regardless of cargo or wagon model. It's more an issue of having the audible near the driver and having some separation between the two speakers. Maybe another wagon model owner with parking aides can pinpoint the sound of the rear speaker for you. That would be helpful. Yes, dropping the headliner on a wagon model would be a pain but I know some forumites have done it. For some, tasks like that are easy peasy but for me it would be a nervous challenge. Is the headliner divided into a few sections rather than one continuous piece? Maybe it's not so bad dropping or prying down one section. Plastic removal tools are in expensive and good to have for something like this. Regarding Forscan, maybe you can borrow someone's laptop. It's really helpful to troubleshoot and check error codes having Forscan. Maybe the mobile app might work in a pinch. You would need an Bluetooth OBDI reader. Keep us posted. Good luck!
  13. Have you tried removing the existing part to see if the Ford part number is stamped on it? You might get lucky. If not, bring the part to your local Ford dealer parts department. They should easily be able to tell you the part number since they have detailed parts diagrams. Good luck!
  14. I ordered my 2015 cargo van with optional mud flaps (Front and Rear Mud Splash Guards). MSRP = $140, Cost = $119. Seems expensive but it was installed as part of the build. I think they work just fine without being too obtrusive. Every bit helps.
  15. Second confirmation on the 720-01-01 register. My TC is an XLT with factory cruise control. Donor IPC was from a Titanium with cc as well, shown below I think Don's last post is spot on. Hoping that's your problem. I also have the same OHP ELMconfig OBD2 Adapter but that doesn't mean yours isn't writing properly.
  16. UPDATE Replaced the Rear Speaker and the whole parking aid system (front and rear sensors and speakers) works now. Problem solved. Thanks again Don R. for your guidance. Always appreciated. I'm sharing some repair details below in case someone else has this problem and needs some help. PART INFO FORD PART NUMBER: 3W8Z-15K864-A MFG PART NUMBER: 3W83-15K864-AA LIST PRICE = $22.22 (local dealer parts dept offered 10% off list = $20.00 + tax) Part not stocked locally. Ships from central Ford parts distribution in Memphis. Took two days for delivery to dealer for pickup. There is only one part number for the speakers (qty 2) so the assumption is that the front speaker is the same part number, but not confirmed. NEW SPEAKER ORIGINAL SPEAKER REMOVAL OF OLD SPEAKER AND INSTALL OF NEW 1 - I removed two of the four fasteners at the rear of the headliner in order to drop the headliner enough in the left rear corner to rear the rear speaker. The fasteners are pretty long, about two inches. I first used interior trim tools to lever it down a bit and then grabbed the fasteners using gloves to twist and pull it out. They popped back in easily when reinstalling. 2 - I again used the trim tools to loosen the speaker, which is glued to the headliner. Luckily, there is enough of the cable coiled around the speaker to bring the speaker down and make it accessible. Thanks Ford engineers. Without that service loop is would have been far more difficult to access the speaker. Removed the old speaker and installed the new speaker, tested parking aid system, then applied double sided tape on the bottom of the speaker to tack it down to the headliner and buttoned up headliner for completion.
  17. @jenni driver - sorry for your woes. Sounds like you're on a heavy duty trek. Hope it's been fun so far. Perhaps you can post some pics of what you're dealing with so someone can more easily provide a solution or at least a temp fix. Gen 1 or Gen 2 TC? Perhaps you can also share about where you're located or will be traveling too soon and maybe a forumite who lives nearby can assist with the problem. Just a thought. Good luck. PS - just to be clear, you're asking if you can use some silicone caulk, right? ?
  18. Thanks Don. Will follow those tips. I did a little exploration and believe I can see the speaker about where the diagram showed it should be in the left rear corner. You can see some of the adhesive used to tack it down ran a bit over the edge of the headliner. Speaker is black. A bit hard to capture a pic while but visually it's a bit clearer since you can angle your sight just right. Will provide an update when available. Thanks again!
