I'm just wondering where would be a transmission oil dipstick in the 2014 model I can't find anything about it in the manual ,all I see is the computer will notifies when the engine oil needs to be changed not like I'm going to wait that long but would be nice to know more about this transmission, I know some will says to call my dealer but I thought who has the van for a while already figured this out. Thanks

European Transits
Johnyguy replied to kmillervir's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Would be a nice idea if they would let you register it in the states, the quality should be the same they build it in Spain for Europe too no? I'm from eastern Europe and where I'm from prices are much higher than in the states not just for the TC but in general cars are much less expensive here in the states and comes with more standard features than in Europe .When I said before the older TC had a 2.0L engine I called it underpowered in Europe for example in the UK they have it with even smaller engines and the 2014 version as well , on the forduk website you can check and see for your self they have options like both side sliding back door or for just one side ,when in the US we got both standard. The only advantage they have which is huge is the diesel engine options and manual transmission. I would love to have them . -

Hello everyone! So today Friday i picked up my XL cargo van after exactly 5 months waiting . Times fly it seems like yesterday when i put down a $1000 on the XL cargo van with options : second raw windows , heated mirrors, windshield heater, 6 way manual cloth bucket seats. rear window defroster, I was not too happy how my dealer was talking he said "oh its a working van gonna get bit up" that is not the attitude i like to hear ,it is going to be a working van for me but i take good care of my vehicles just like my passenger car.so its not gonna get bit up and i payed hard earned money for it . Ok lets start what i like about the vehicle i am very impressed with the seats so far they are firm and very supportive feels like a strong cloth but time will tell i will going to put on a seat cover just in case, the driver seat has a nice armrest i can fold it back flush with the seat its adjust it many different positions very good. i did not get a CD player or sync just the basic radio but it is nice to have an option i can hook up my phone to the 3.5 jack in the center console to listen to my music or any radio station from the internet ,i don't listen to cd's in car anyway . The fit and finish is very good i like the interior the steering wheel don't have any controls on it it is basic rubber but it has a nice grip to it and the way they shaped it very good even without leather. The engine feels it has some good power and torque but im very easy on it for now, the transmission is smooth . A couple things they could do better: when you open the hood it has no insulation it gets very hot how is the paint going to hold up will see that . the gas fill up inlet has no cover i mean like the twisting cap and the one thing bothers me is when the vehicle is locked you still can open that so anybody can get to it ,unless i missed something? There is some road noise coming from the tires probably not enough soundproofing but i can live with it, or maybe a better tire would fix that ? . Why did they skip on a nice plastic wheel house lining on the back and they used a fabric felt like material that thing is not going to last i might waterproof it with some clear lacquer to make it work better . The front has plastic, is this how the older model has it if someone could confirm that please and how is that holds up? A few nice touches they did at least i appreciate them and no one mentioned them anywhere maybe because they are nothing special for some or just common i don't know when you use the windshield viper it wipes twice and after a second its comes back to wipe of that last drip running down on the window ,that's very cool. The turn signal works two ways one is you hit it and it signals 3 times or you actually click it and stays on until you turn it off. The side view mirrors are ok they would be much better if they don't split it up with a wide angel mirror part, but i have second raw widows so i have good visibility and i will get use to it . The steering is a little to lite i think. well so far that's my first impression if i have more to share i will edit my post I never owned a ford before so i hope i will be happy with it . i will post pictures of the van the problem is 500kb file size is not big but better than nothing. a few simple modifications im thinking to replace the original bulbs to LED rear, cabin lighting and cargo light . Thanks for reading ! John

How to change or reset the trip odometer?
Johnyguy replied to PerfectHold's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
hi i have the same issue i just picked up my tc and how do i change the settings on the trip computer i have the LX model no steering wheel options. also when i have the doors open i have the parking light on front and back only goes away when i close the door can i turn this off i like to work on the car but the battery gonna dye of if the light stays on all that time am i missing something? Thanks for the help! -
Hi is this a 2014 TC ? And what issue you had you needed to go there? Thanks
-
i think the nissan nv200 is smaller than the SWB TC.
-
i just checked it online it comes with rear/ front disc brakes . you scared me there fort a second . i went to the dealer today and there was a LX base model on a lot , i ordered a LX as well, when i checked it out i noticed the steering wheel was plane old black rubber i thought the LX comes with that nice thick letter covered steering , i guess i was expecting too much and was a little disappointed and the interior a little plane black without that silver accent around the radio and on the steering wheel. well that is a base model so i should not complane right. and it is going to be my work vehicle so i guess its ok on the plus side it comes with a adjustable arm rest which is not bad. The floor covering in the back has a soft rubbery feel i think some tools may poke a hole easily so i will cover it with something more durable the sliding doors are very smooth working. I will may update the rear light bulbs for LED should not be too difficult.

2015 Van Ordering Experience
Johnyguy replied to windguy's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
hi let me ask you i saw you ordered the cargo version does it has leather wrapped steering wheel or just the wagon has that non of the cagro vans? thanks -
is this a 2014 model? when was the last time you changed your oil you should do it every 3500 miles at least do change it
-
and what you forget to mention it is a smaller vehicle too too small for my work purpose and short .
-
Welcome Scott congrats to the new ride! tell us how you like it and what you don't like maybe a picture ?
-
well yes stick would give better MPG but im driving in the city alot and it would kill me on the long term. my other car is a stick for pleasure and i don't mind a (coupe) . a diesel would be great i would love that option but the money hungry government wont allow that unfortunately for now at least.
-
compared to the v8 the TC should have better mpg in city than that but it's not. still not bad.
-
my guess is a V6 or V8 engine is very efficient on a highway, im sure you get better mpg with the TC in the city than the crown victoria.
-
The 2013 model is underpowered the 2014 model has more power over the older model its a big change according to reviews , but at the same time very similar mpg which is good news the 2.5 litter engine is not the latest technology been around at least for 5 years don't have direct injection which would improve mpg.,but it is a proven reliable engine. The 4.6L engine gets that 25 on a highway and at what speed ? I assume not in the city, the aerodynamics plays a part too the oldert model is more boxy while the newer one has a better shape but got a bigger engine so that's evens it out. my 2 cents.
