In defense of the rear fog lights. i spent 10 days in Great britain and 10 days in Ireland mostly driving the countryside while touring the countries. A person who thinks that they know what fog is, gets a real awakening while driving the vast countryside on narrow roads in the fog. It is more imnportant to be able to see the vehicle in front of you than the little bit that the front fog lights illumnate. The brighter rear lights are a necessity. Fog is a fact of life over there; not infrequent like over here. I have only used them twice here and both time when an overly aggressive driver got literally right on my rear end and I pulled out the switch so he would think that I was braking.

Welcome to the Forums. I know what you mean about colors. We seem to be the only dealer in Houston to order TC's in colors other than white and they sell.

Congrats and welcome to the site. Good luck with your new TC.

I agree. I have the rear window glass but with the Adrian Hybrid partition and a shelving unit on each side, the rear visibility is almost non-existnat. Took a little time to get used to but now I don't even give it another thought.

I spoke with Azure Dymanics the other day as we are becoming a dealer for their Hybrid Econoline. They are also the company that is modifying the TC to an all electric version which will debut at the Chicago Auto Show next month and is supposed to go on sale towards the end of the year.

Welcome from across the pond. I spent a little over a week over there a year ago. Stayed in the Cotswald's. Beautiful country; hope to return again to see more if it.

Welcome to the Forums. Good luck with your Transit Connect.

Looks great. I have the driver side Ranger shelf in mine for show and a base Adrian on the other side for show. They do com in handy for carrying brochures, etc. I also went with the Adrian Hybrid bulkhead. It lessens the noise in the cab area a little and is a little better at insulating the cab area.

Transit Connect fills unmet needs of small businesses and fleets The Transit Connect was brought to the U.S. to fulfill the unmet needs of small business owners and entrepreneurs, offering them a new vehicle choice with significantly improved fuel economy, generous and accessible cargo space, and the agility and maneuverability to operate in crowded urban areas. Powered by a 2.0-liter I-4 engine with a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission, the Transit Connect offers double the fuel economy of full-size vans, delivering an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The Transit Connect also has more than double the cargo-carrying capacity of the Chevrolet HHR Panel, making it suitable for a broader range of commercial-use applications. And it offers commercial users a cargo payload of up to 1,600 pounds – a larger payload than the full-size Dodge Ram 1500 standard-cab short-box pickup truck. The Transit Connect also is available with the industry-exclusive Ford Work Solutions™, a suite of affordable technologies that provides customers with connectivity, flexibility, visibility and security to better run key aspects of their business. On Transit Connect, Ford Work Solutions delivers three innovative features: · A wireless in-dash computer that provides full high-speed Internet access, Bluetooth-enabled hands-free calling and navigation. The system also allows customers to print invoices, check inventories and access documents stored on their home or office computer networks right on the job site. · Tool Link™, a Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) asset tracking system that enables customers to maintain detailed real-time inventory of the tools or equipment. · Crew Chief™, a fleet tracking, telematics and diagnostics system that provides dynamic location and performance data fleet owners need to more efficiently manage their vehicles, quickly dispatch workers to job sites, monitor driver performance for safety and economy, and keep detailed vehicle maintenance records. Awards and accolades for the 2010 Ford Transit Connect include: 2010 Editors Choice for Vans by CAR and DRIVER Magazine · Detroit Free Press 2010 Truck of the Year · The Detroit News 2010 Truck of the Year · 2010 Popular Mechanics Automotive Excellence Award for Best Workhorse Vehicle · A Great Car for the Small Business Delivery/Utility Worker by Kelley Blue Book kbb.com

isellford replied to TonyC's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Our lead times in TX are a minimum of 4 months from time of submission until the unit arrivers at the dealership. It takes almost a month from time of arrival at the Port for processsing and shipping to TX. -

Plenty of XLT's here. We have only sole 1 XL out of all the TC's we have sold. Welcome to the Forums!

I agree. Spent 25+ years in the Midwest. Not fun cleaning off a lot full of commercial trucks and plowing snow when wind chill is sometimes below 0. Been here 3 years and i will take the hot summers [reason God invented swimming pools] over the bitter cols ant day of the week. Do not miss it one bit.

How do you like the wheel / tire change. Any appreciable differernce in the ride? New wheels are in my budget for next year. I have had TPMS issues with my wife's Focus, mainly during significant temperature changes but none so far with the TC.

I am having same issues and without the daytimne running lights. Also at night my function and radio buttons are not backlit so it is a real pain to change radio stations while driving. The buttons only seem to light up when the W/S is booting up on initital vehicle start and they go off after 10 seconds or so. Today I switched to the daytime display mode even though it was dark out on the way to work and the buttons lit up. Perfectly logical, they light up in daylight when it doesn't matter and go off at night when you can't see the buttons. Otherwise I love my T/C. Showed it to a customer last week and am delivering 2 to them today and 7 mor in the 1st quarter of next year. They are a water treatment business and will be using them for service vehcicles.
