TC Non-commercial use -- couple of questions
isellford replied to pkrat's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
The TC is not recommended for towing. I found a local Van converter who said that they can put a privacy slide opening rear quarter window on each side for around $500 for the pair. Check for van converters in your area. I have a local cab company looking at them and that is one of their requirements. -

Would have sold more if we had them. There were several delays in shipping especially to TX. Mine arrived in MD in June and I'm still waiting. -

NHTSA Cash for Clunkers Program
isellford replied to isellford's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Hopefully you found another dealer to buy from. I had just the opposite situation, I had 2 different customers call looking for a Transit Connect to buy under the program. Had vehicles for both in stock and neither showed up after I had the vehicles ready to go. -
Wish you a lot of luck with it. Mine has finally arrived at the ramp. I can't wait.

If you own a busincee and it is titled in your name or your company name, you would receive up to $375 if the van is up-fitted with aftermarket racks / bins / etc. on a ship thru [already installed] or $200 if you have them done locally.

All of the Transit Connects are imported as Wagons and then converted to cargo vans as needed. Adrian does make the floor extension if anyone wants to remove their seats and make it into a cargo van.

The 0% for 36 months or a $500 rebate is good on Transit Connect. Also if you are a business there are additional commercial connection incentives that are available.
-
I don't see why it can't be unbolted. I am sure it can be done. I have a prospective customer that wants to use it to haul a creamatory tray and needs 6' 6" which is just what we have when we slide the seat all the way forward. Roof racks might be another alternative for you.

Welcome to the site. Wish you a lot of luck with your TC. They are going to be a good vehicle for us.

These are some of the packages availabe on a ship through basis on the Transit Connect. By doing so, businesses are then eligible for an additional commercial upfit rebate at time of delivery. Rack___Bin_Ordering_Guide.pdf

If your dealer told you 3 months, he is misinformed. It is currently taking a good 4 months from order to delivery. I woul dnever commit to 3 months. In our market we are one of the only dealers to order colors. Our allocation is now over 40 of these and pribably 25% are colors. It comes in white, black, silver, red, and dark blue.

Good Luck with it and hope you stick around the boards.

Ford Transit Connect Specifications
isellford replied to Transit Connect Guide's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
On the US models, the Ford Oval rotates countercloskwise to expose the keyhole. -
I was fortunate enough to sell our 1st TC. I took it to see the customer by way of a 60 mph freeway and several rough city streets. It accelerated better than I anticipated for a 2.0L. It's not going to win any drag races but the powerplant seems more than adequate in acceleration. I am a pretty big guy and I was very comfortable in the driver seat. The turning radius is excellent. The radio was kinda tinny sounding but that is to be expected in a vehicle like this with no interior trim in the rear. A couple prospects wish the load floor were about a foot longer but overall they were impressed. I wish the outside mirrors were just a little bigger especialyy when driving a van with no side or rear glass. I would definately opt for the XLT package in either case [van or pass van]. For just under $1000, you get color co-ordinated bumbers instead of grey painted bumpers, power windows, mirrors, and locks along with keyless remotes. Also included is speed control and a CD player; neither of which you can get in the XL. Also the 255 degree rear door option is only available on the XLT.
