  1. Our 1st one showed up on Wed evening. I took it to show a customer on Thursday after lunch and came away with a substantial deposit. The TC performed very well ont he freeway and thru downtown traffic in Houston. we definately have a winner here!
  2. Yes, The Transit Connect does fall under the guidelines for Cash for Clunkers.
  3. Ford announced their 3rd quarter marketing programs for the Transit Connect. Customers have their choice of 0% financing for 36 months or a $ 500 rebate. These programs are good for deliveries through 8/31/09.
  4. I will put in my .02 worth. 1st off the Europen TC is a cargo van with a TDI and manual transmission. All of the vans coming into the US are passenger vans with glass in all of the doors which then have to be removed to make them cargo vans. Also we get a 2.0L gas engine with an automatic transmission and a redesigned body and US emissions. Then they have to ship to the U.K> and then to the U.S. These things all add up. These are just my thoughts on it. Ed Miller Your Transit Connect Connection www.transitconnect.org
  5. They are starting to arrive in the US. I have 2 at the mod center right now. I ahve been marketing these for a couple months and have gotten a lot of interest. Once they arrice and people can drive them, sales will take off. Ford is putting on ride and drives in major markets around the country so keep an eye out in your area. I handle all sizes of fleet and commercial accounts around the country and would be happy to assist you no matter where in the US you are located. My website id www.transitconnect.org.
  6. We have 30+ units coming; the first 3 have arrived in the US and we expect them shortly. Ford brought me one a few weeks ago to put in a show. It's an amazing vehicle. Check out my personal website: www.transitconnect.org.
  7. All of the Transit Connects are built as wagons as there is a pretty stiff inport tariff on cargo vans. Once they arrive , they are sent to a modification center that employs Americans who take the seats out of the vans that are going to be cargo versions. They also put solid panels in the doors that are not getting windows [all are built with windows in all the doors]. Then any of the vans that are getting an up-fit for racks and bulkheads, etc gfo off to another up-fit location [owned and operated by an American company] for their final upfit. They are then shipped to the dealer. Ford is operation now under a One Ford umbrella where they will bring the best products in each market segment to the US. Also, Ford makes a world class Focus in Europe in 5 different configurations which will run the wheels off our Focus. So instead of importing it, Ford is re-tooling the Wayne MI plant to build it here and keep Ford UAW workers working. Without the help of Uncle Sam, we won't be Government Motors, but we will be selling the best in class vehicles across our lineup. I've been doing this for 28 years now and I am excited about our future. And i put my money where my mouth is, I ordered a Transit COnnect for myself to use as a mobile sales office.
  8. I have an XLT van on order with a ship thru upfit and Worksolutions. I has been built and shipped. I was able to watch its progress from Turkey to England and on again to the US Port. It is now at the mod center having the seats removed then on to DeJeanna for the Adrian Upfit. I am working ot of the box on this one. Since I am in commercial sales, this is going to be my mobile office for calling on customers and the work solutions will keep me in rtouch with my office computer. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can get my graphics installed.
  9. My name is Ed Miller, fleet and commercial sales at Chastangs Bayou City Ford in Houston. I have a website www.transitconnect.org.
