The 2011 Order bank is scheduled to open on 4/26/10. Scheduling is scheduled to begin the week of 5/13/10. Production is scheduled to start the week of 8/9/10. These dates could change by a week or so but they usually are pretty reliable. If production starts when anticipated, we would probably be looking at around the end of Oct to beginning of Nov for the 1st ones to arrive. Also not all new features may be available at Job #1. As we get closer and I get additional information, I will post.

Haggle Room

There is about $1200 markup from MSRP to Invoice on the Transits. Our markup has been shrinking every year. On some vehicles Ford has lowered the MSRP from one year to the next buit raised our cost so it is a double whammy. The TC is in a completely different class. It is considered a work vehice and not to compete against minivans or SUV's. In the sebgment it is in, it is price pointed very well and commercial customers have taken to it extremely well. I have several repeat buyers. If you are looking for frills and creature comforts, this is not the vehicle for you. it was not intended for family everyday use. -
Good Morning all. I had been out of town last week attending 2 trade shows and travelling all day Sunday. Saw a lot of new TC equipment and interiors. Yesterday was catch up in the office and selling another TC. I am looking at a factory invocie for an XLT 110A package at the new price level. Anything shipped after the beginning of Jan will have the new price; we are not protected on orders for stock; only retail so even if we ordered in Nov or Dec, we would be invoiced at the new price as it would arrive after the Jan date. My price level 055 Transit breaks down as follows: MSRP $23560 [ has 255 degree, reverse sensing, all WX mats, and splash guards]. Invoice is $22313.95 which includes $695 freight, $330 dealer advertising [varies by region], 40.95 fuel charge, and $15 MDA assessment. There is also $686 holdback which is 3% of the MSRP less freight rounded to next whole dollar [ 23560 - 695 = 22865 x 3% = 685.95]. That is it. Holdback is used to pay interest charges as most dealers have to finance their vehicles. A normal commercial floor rate is 8% on invoice amount so it would cost a dealer approx $148.75 a month to have the unit in inventory [Ford does credit 45 days to dealer so if on lot over that, it starts eating the holdback]. Dealer also uses holdback for advertising, light bill, and other fixed expenses. Most dealers do not pay salespersons on holdback so if they sell at invoice, a salesman usually makes a flat pay of $100. The national average for a salesperson is 12 a month so if a salesman sells 12 units at invoice X $100, he would be below the poverty level. I doubt seriously if most people reading the boards would work for that. Salespersons are not real crazy about invoice deals but they will do it. As we are looking at this 110A package, the total markup above invoice is 1245.05 which is not a whole heck of a lot to begin with. So if you can buy a Transit Connect and the dealer is willing to discount it $1000 or so, then it is a fair deal for both parties. That leaves him with a little over $900 profit which is not unrealistic since he has taken the risk and has all of the expenses involved in carrying the unit. If anyone is thinking about a purchase down the road, join the American Quarter Horse Assn for the $30 or $40 that the annual dues are. Ford has been offering an ADDITIONAL $500 rebate to their members for as long as I can remember. This can be combined with the standard rebate or the financing. You have to be a member for at least 60 days before being eligible. I joined a year or so ago and have used it on 2 vehicles. ALso if you are a bonafide business, you can receive an additional $375 if the TC had a ship thru rack/bin installed OR an additional $200 if you spend at least $200 on aftermarket work related items such as ladder racks, interior racks/bulkhead or graphics. Dealer needa a copy of a paid invoice from the company that does the upfit showing what was done and how much was spent. It is tough comparing "Out The Door" deals as the tax title and other fees vary so much from state to state and there is nothing you can do to change them so just work your best deal on the vehicle that you are happy with and buy it. Most Transits ahave about the same markup so if you are getting at least $1000 off the Real MSRP [not a addendum MSRP with a bunch of dealer add ons - STAY AWAY FROM THEM] then buy the vehicle. If you have any questions, contact me through my website. Hope this helps.

There are no links to the changes. i got it word of mouth from Ford's Commercial Manager at the NTEA show. There were many TC's on display in various forms of upfit. I did like the rear pop open windows ont he Taxi that will be available on all XLT wagons next year. I wish my card reader worked so I could post pics. Might try to pick a new one up tomorrow otherwise will have to wait until Sunday when I get home to post pics. As i get more info youguys will get it before I post on my website; heck the guys I work with still don;t have this info.

Funny you should mention that. Here I am live at the National Truck Equipment Show and yesterday we had our 2011 update from Ford for the commercial trucks. They touched on the TC a little. We have our National Truck Club meeting with the head of Ford Commerfcial in a littlw while. I hope to find out a little more info at that time but for now here is what I know. Ford will make the power equipmentr group available on the XL model. The XLT Wagon will get the rear quarter windows. New Colors. Freshened up interior on XLT. As I find out more info, i will post it. I also found two suppliers that make a sidewall liner that looks pretty good and finishes off the cargo area pretty well; one is Adrian and the other is Leggett & Platt [MasterRack]. There are a lot more shelf packages available form other manufacturers and I found a back up camera that mounts above the license plate. There were a lot of upfittred TC's that I hope to post pictures when I get back as for some reason my card reader is not working correctly.

Will we ever get the real passenger version or Tourneo?

[/url]C-Max Mk I was the first product to use the Ford C1 platform, also used by the Ford Focus Mk II and the compact MPV Premacy/Mazda5. Its internal code name is C214. It seats five passengers and has a large amount of cargo space, which can be increased by folding the rear seats flat. Some models feature diagonally sliding outer rear seats. It also shares the control blade independent rear suspension from the Focus. Critical Knowledge: Shares platform and powertrains with redesigned 2012 Ford Focus Focus C-MAX offers 7-passenger seating and sliding side doors EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder engine Front-wheel drive Available blind-spot information system Available power rear tailgate Possible semi-automatic parallel parking system On sale in North America for 2012 Introduction When Ford President and CEO Alan Mullaly arrived in Dearborn several years ago to steer the ailing company toward greater fortunes, the conversation probably resembled a talk with a teen-aged son or daughter: Mullaly: Why does Ford build different cars for different markets around the world? FoMoCo: I don't know. Mullaly: It costs a fortune to design, develop and market all these different vehicles. Do you know how much we could save if we stopped all this nonsense? FoMoCo: I don't know. Mullaly: Americans love European cars, and pay a premium for them. Why didn't we bring the redesigned Focus here in 2005? And why isn't the Fiesta in the lineup to battle the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa and Toyota Yaris? FoMoCo: I don't know. Mullaly (slapping his forehead): Bring the European cars to Americans, now! Mullaly's "One Ford" vision is becoming reality. The Transit Connect, designed to serve commercial needs on narrow European city streets, is already on sale in the U.S. Next up is the Ford Fiesta subcompact, followed by a redesigned 2012 Ford Focus, the full-size Transit commercial van, and a global replacement for the Fusion family sedan. We're also getting the vehicle shown above. This is the 2012 Ford Focus C-MAX (Grand C-MAX in Europe), which has seven seats in a 3-row, 2/3/2 configuration. It's got sliding doors on each side, the seats fold to create a flat load floor, and it's about the size of a Mazda5. Ford wants you to call it a multi-activity vehicle, or MAV—not a minivan. "The Focus C-MAX will be great to look at, great to sit in, and great to drive," said Derrick Kuzak, group vice president, Ford Global Product Development. Let's hope so. -
Congrats and good luck with yout Connect. Welcome to the boards!

Ford just announced 0% financing for 36 months on the Transit.

Wish I were that handy. Great looking system.

I have a bulkhead and a set of racks in the back for demo use. Carry several cases of brochures. My combined is 24.2. Approaching 14,000 miles and so far no real issues. Wheels and tires are in the future for it.

Duh! Is that why Ford give you one. Also at time of delivery, the salesperson is supposed to go over a checklist and show you al of the intracacies of the vehicle.

Welcome and good luck with your new TC, I spent the better part of almost 3 years at the old Quonset NAS back in the 70's. Loved it up there.
