If you are willing to do some reading and research, Forscan is a better a solution. Forscan can perform almost everything the OEM Ford software IDS does. Forscan is free and the required adapter is under $100. You need a laptop PC with Windows.

I doubt any other scan tool can perform vehicle configuration changes like adding cruise control, DRL delete etc .

If you only have one brand of car you are working on then Forscan or the Toyota version is the best .  If you have multiple types of vehicles and friends that descend on you for help a good general purpose scan tool is needed.

If you are getting one spend the extra money and get the Bluetooth version the improved ease of operation is worth it.

I have a 2014 Transit Connect and a 2013 F150.  Both have issues with the rear view backup cameras.  They function intermittently at best.  I'd like to get an Apple IOS / iPhone  compatible  scan tool capable of diagnosing rear camera backup issues.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

The full version of FORScan with the full features is Windows with the Extended License.

A wired connection is more stable.  You do not want a wireless connection to disconnect while you are making changes to the car's computer.
