12v Rear Auxiliary Socket Connect 2019 van

Hope someone can point me in the right direction please,

2019 Connect Van,

Having found the 12v Aux loom tapped up to the main loom in the rear o/s panel i decided to order the correct socket 12v socket from Ford.

Installed the socket and no power going to it, checked the fuses in the fuse box under the bonnet and they are all there and not blown,

Question is where do I have to check now

There are at least 3 fuse blocks in a TC. Check the owner's manual for fuse locations and identification. My 2016 has a "luggage compartment power outlet" on Fuse 24 in the Aux Junction Box (AJB). The AJB is in the right rear panel...near the luggage compartment power socket.

But your owners manual will still tell you which fuse you can use, or a circuit you can tap into.  Maybe if you look, the fuse slot is empty, and then all that you would have to do is insert a fuse.  Or if there is an empty fuse slot, you can use it.   See this post about adding a circuit to your fuse box. 

 

Worst case scenario is that you run a wire to the battery.  If you do that, add a fuse box to the rear where the auxiliary junction box would have been.  Then you can add all sorts of other upgrades.

I wouldn't be surprised if the fuse location for it is in the fuse block behind the glovebox.

  Most likely place.  The slot is probably empty.  If all wiring is installed, then only a fuse is needed.  You would be surprised at strange finds when it comes to what is built into the car.  I've found live wires with harness plugs, which connected to nothing.  As in the factory installs the same wires in every car, and then if the build is for a model which doesn't feature that option, then the preinstalled harness just connects to nothing.  No harm.  Even though the wire is live, nothing is connected.  No load, no draw.  Customer won't know since it's behind the dash.

Thank you for the replys, the fuse box location is situated under the bonnet and the fuse in place, what makes it worse you have to take the fuse box out of the vehicle to even check the fuses,  if the fuse is in place and the wires are in the back Ford have done something in between,  if it means tapping in then tapping in it will be but still under warranty so will need to take advice, I was hoping it was unplugged somewhere in between

You need a wiring diagram. Almost all electrical loads go through a computer module. The aux outlets may be controlled to set the timeout, switch on with ignition etc. I doubt you will find a wire that goes from the fuse to the socket. You may need to program the module for the new outlet.

 

Nothing is simple any more.

Unless you run your own wire to the battery.  Then install your own fuse box.  Then you can add simple circuits for aftermarket upgrades.

I haven't looked closely at my 2020 TC, but when I was adding accessories to my 2015 TC via the rear Aux Junction Box, the extra wiring just wasn't there. I had assumed a similar situation to what you describe, a fairly universal harness with options connected as needed. But in the fuse boxes, I found that although the supply side of the fuse was present in the box (due to using a fixed metal bus bar), if the option wasn't in my 2015 then there was no wire at all installed on the other side of the fuse opening. Given the more difficult access and tight quarters on the 2020 fuse boxes, I suspect it's even worse which is why I haven't gotten around to digging into it yet. I likely will just add a small aux box direct to the battery when I have the need.

I reviewed the electrical diagram for my 2016 wagon and there are several configurations for the rear luggage compartment aux  outlet.  F11 and F15 in the battery junction box are used depending on van/wagon and start-stop option. F24 is the Aux Junction Box (AJB) is used for a wagon with start-stop. I don't have start-stop and there is no fuse in the F24 slot. F24 is not a normal fuse. It is probably a slo-blo fuse and would look more like a very small relay module with one female socket, not a normal mini bladed fuse. But every configuration in my 2016 feeds the socket directly and does not go through any computer modules.

 

I ran the latest version of Forscan and there is a setting for the aux socket. This setting must be for models after 2016. Mine is set at "not configured". If anyone has the service manual for a 2019+ it would be interesting to see where the power for the aux socket is coming from.
