Thomas T
Our new 2015 TC dim lights seem too dim or pointed incorrectly as a night there is what seems to be a dark line not too far in front of you and it makes it difficult to drive without the brights on. Can the lights be adjusted or has anyone else noticed this? What can be done??
mrtn
The adjustment knob pops out of the headlight switch. Just push the middle spot and adjust. Change to Osram Nightbreakers, makes a big difference at legal power levels.
G B L
On the Model here there is a vertical beam adjuster on each light, it is yellow and has a hex key opening. Put your TC 25 to 30 feet from a flat wall and you can adjust the beams . I did mine and the lights are now great. mrtn can you take a photo of the adjustment nob you have ? We might be on the short end of the stick here again

DonShockley
My 2015 had horrible adjustment on the lights when I first received it also. Since I often work a night shift, it was a real issue on my first trip to work after making the purchase on my days off. Fortunately, the TC has the easiest adjusters I've ever used and the adjustment procedure in the manual is easy to follow. Took less than 5 minutes during a break at work that same night. As GBL mentioned, the adjuster is a bright yellow screw, easy to find with good access.
G B L
Very Cool We do not get that here unless it has been recently added. Beam height Adjusted under the hood. I guess it is just another thing we do not get. The fog lamp switch on the left I have one what do yours control. mrtn
mrtn
Is your light switch the same but just in one piece then without the middle knob?
G B L
Yes that is correct . What do the two buttons on the left side of the head light switch control
mrtn
Fog light switches, top: front and bottom: rear. Edited August 22, 2016 by mrtn
G B L
I Guess we don't have fog in the rear!
mrtn
I wonder how much Ford saved by removing the bulb from the rear cluster and making a stripped down light switch for the US market. Probably at least $8.
G B L
I think is is closer to
mrtn
$5 was my first thought but it did not make any sense :D
103west43rd
Here is an idea for 2014+ Transit Connect owners, but first a little background...... The 2010 Transit Connect started out with no front fog lamps but did have rears! When I added my first, of many lights, the 2011 was released with both front and rear fog lamps. I noticed the main lighting switch had an additional position for the front fog lights so I bought the 2011 switch and used it to control the front fog lamps I added. Now, back to 2016.... If you are adding additional lighting in your 2014+ Transit Connect, why not buy the UK/EU switch and use it to control your additional lights or any other accessory that many need a switch. G B L
That is a good idea. I wonder what would be needed to use the headlight adjust button that would also come on that switch?
103west43rd
G B L, just a guess, I think it is a potentiometer (variable resistor). Turn it one way, less resistance in a circuit, turn it the other way, more resistance. It could be used for a headlamp aiming motor, up or down. G B L
It could be or it could be like the steps on the fan switch. I need to see the headlight to see what the motor assembly looks like . that would be the key to the project being worth while.
103west43rd
mrtn can fill us in on how it works.
mrtn
Even tho the dial shows 5 positions (0..4) the knob makes nine clicks, so yes, it's like a 9-pos fan switch. The yellow screws on the the hood are for initial calibration. Edited August 23, 2016 by mrtn
G B L
Good info, Does the bulb move or does it change the brightness What is the price of the Headlight assembly in your parts catalogue?
mrtn
The reflector assy inside the cluster moves up and down. This has been a standard feature for all cars sold in Europe since the 80s. HIDs have to have automatic leveling. The headlight price is in some other headlight thread. I checked it a few months ago. EDIT: no, found the prices, it was a private correspondence with Nate. Quote Left: €294 Right: €337 Edited August 23, 2016 by mrtn found it
G B L
Thanks. Wonder why we are not allowed to have this feature? Could be some Dot regulation or Could it be Ford I just checked it is the Dot, sorry Ford Edited August 24, 2016 by G B L more info
windguy
thanks for posting about how to adjust the lights. this has been on my To Do list since I got the van. As the days are getting shorter again, I keep thinking about needing to do this. the high beams and fog lights are great but I can't see very well with regular beams and I love the how the lights project to the sides when turning the wheel.
