Also, the ASL change says you must be in engineering mode. Select engineering mode in the upper left corner that currently says "Normal". Sometimes the new version fixes bugs for newer vehicles but breaks things on older vehicles. Go to the download page at the bottom and click on the Full Forscan v2 changes history. But I can see an XL without CC has a different setting in the IPC compared to every trim level with CC. XL w/o CC 720-01-01 0000 0001 2A with CC 720-01-01 0000 0142 6C Check the IPC (as built) and see of this data was changed from 0001 to 0142. This is a complete guess...but worth checking. You can manually the change the data without much risk (the IPC is very stable and doesn't seem to brick with unexpected configurations). The ELM327 adapter may be the problem. OBDlink adapters are Forscan recommended. Your adapter may not be performing the write function properly. I just checked my TC and before I had 0001 2A and now I have 0142 6C. When I installed my new steering wheel with buttons also I installed the cluster from the same TC as the steering wheel but I just made a change in the BdyCM main, so my ipc came with the cruise control setting already..! windguy 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
windguy Posted March 29, 2022 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Second confirmation on the 720-01-01 register. My TC is an XLT with factory cruise control. Donor IPC was from a Titanium with cc as well, shown below I think Don's last post is spot on. Hoping that's your problem. Actually, we didn't do this. We hit the check mark when we made the selection. When we started Forscan again, the changes were still there, so we assumed the changes were written to the ECM. Don Ridley Posted March 30, 2022 Share Posted March 30, 2022 I'm pretty sure you need to click the write button. A status bar will appear with messages like writing block 1/6, 2/6 etc.....if I remember correctly. Then check for DTCs and clear any that the block writing process created. I would review all of the posts from those that were successful. Also check fuse 72 in the BCM (behind the glove box). See attached drawing to verify all the wires needed were in the connectors you attached. If you have done all of this then I'm out of ideas why your TC can't be configured for cruise control (I have never done this mod). I've noticed that the steering wheel looks identical to a Ford Focus, and for that matter the Flex Wagon as well. Just wondering how specific it has to be. I found a steering wheel from a 2016 Transit Connect (same year as mine) and have installed it. Does anyone have an update on the status of Forscan? I saw that the status of the software was in question since it's published by a Russian developer. I'd rather be forewarned if I'm walking into a quagmire! Don Ridley Posted February 2, 2023 Share Posted February 2, 2023 Forscan is still available. You can get a free 2 month license or pay about $12 for a one year subscription. Paid license gets you technical support and you can join the forum. Wifi adapters are not recommended for making configuration or programming changes. Get an OBDlink EX or BX (Bluetooth) so you don't rick bricking your vehicle. I leave my BX plugged into the OBDII port and check things with my cellphone when needed. I just bought a 2014 TC recently and did a 4 hour trip one way and realized how much I love and rely on cruise control and want to desperately add it to mine, I've perused through this thread a little bit and it looks like all that's really needed is a new steering wheel and some re-programming for the ECU?
