mustang
after looking further it looks like its just a installation kit (wires etc) the factory installed hitch has a trailer control module under the right hand access panel in rear of van . in the manual it says it has anti sway control for trailer towing . thx138
Good catch. I would guess it's a lot more than $80. Where are you looking this up? The Ford parts site?
Ccrew
You can get a Reese Class 3 from Amazon for $103 (Reese 44702) and the tailight electronics (Curt 56218 ) for $47. I have both on our 2014 and they're great. 4 bolts to install the hitch into existing frame holes. Electrical is a bit more fiddly because it's a 5 wire Euro spec to 4 wire US spec converter box. Osco
Just got mine from the Mo co (Dealer),, the hitch replaces my steel bumper behind the valence,, Looks like a bunch of work Hitch was $188 plus tax Wiring harness with NO Instructions was $75.. I need diagrams or I will take it to Topper king and pay them,,or to the Mo Co... advice anyone ? Looks like I must remove the valence, Two splines go Into the Box frame and I assume when I remove the old steel bumper it will be the same and make sense... Pick Power near the battery, feed the wire all the way back, Edited June 11, 2016 by Osco
DonShockley
Just got mine from the Mo co (Dealer),, ............... Wiring harness with NO Instructions was $75.. I need diagrams or I will take it to Topper king and pay them,,or to the Mo Co... advice anyone ? .............. I wasn't clear on if you were referencing the Reese hitch in the previous post or the Ford hitch in the thread title. But here's the dealer installation instructions for the Ford hitch kit wiring: (of course the Ford sites didn't provide them, but an online parts supplier did) http://www.partscheap.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/instructions/ford/escape/2015_escape_Trailer_Wiring_SKFT1J_15A416_AC.pdf It covers a couple different vehicles so scroll down to the middle of the pdf for the Transit Connect specifics. G B L
Nice. I put a Curt hitch on mine . It went on in 30 minutes and did not require any disassembly . It came from E-Trailer . They also had the wiring harness adapter. Take some pictures of your install
