  1. It's a 2014. 9 or 10 years old. That port is probably clogged and/or damaged. Who knows how many sodas and cups of coffee were spilled by the previous owner. Not to mention lint, dirt, dust, and whatever other particulate matter. One end of the cable plugs into the port. The other end of the cable plugs into the headphone jack of your phone. All that it does, when working, is play your phone's audio over the car's speakers. In 2014, it was really basic technology.
  2. I'm wrong. I thought that the 2nd row was the same.
  3. From my memory, no seats click into the floor. They are all bolted in. 2nd row seats should be the same for long wheel base and short wheel base, and all models from 2014 onwards. The cargo van should have a floor plate where the foot well is. Removing that is covered in many threads on this forum. You also need to consider that there are no airbags and seat belts. Although a selt belt should come with the middle seat. The seat should have baby car seat anchor points. Ebay usually has seats for sale
  4. What are you trying to do with FORScan?
  5. And even then, it's repairable with replacement parts.
  6. It sounds like you are the victim of people who don't know what they are doing. Find someone who actually knows what they are doing. . Then install a new clutch and gearbox.
  7. It is recommended to use a wired connection for stability. Not good when you are working with the car's computer, and the wireless signal drops.
  8. Take some photos, and show us what you're doing. Make a video.
  9. Here is the OEM factory part. Good luck with trying to find long rubber strips. If you can find some strips of rubber insulation, maybe you can cut it to size.
  10. Did you also replace the wire harness?
  11. So far, so good. I didn't get one. I haven't needed one.......yet. Almost all of my Transit Connect driving is on city streets. Nowhere to get stuck. I can always call a tow truck. Tow truck drivers are really good at wrapping a chain around your axle shaft and destroying your car. Something to consider is to have your own recovery strap. I always have one in my truck. Nothing like finding someone who is willing to help you out, you have the hook, and neither of you have a strap. Added security to have your own strap, and know that it's a good strap.
  12. You can run the power line to the battery under the hood.
  13. Is it just dented or bent, and you're worried about decreased performance? Or is there a hole in it? Either way, you want to replace it. It is not cheap. You can't simply order a piece of pipe, then bolt it on. The entire exhaust manifold and catalytic converter is a 1 piece unit. But as you can see, it is a bolt on installation. Bolts at the exhaust manifold. Bolts at the midpipe. You will want new gaskets. While you're at it, I would also install new O2 sensors. Which makes it all a little more expensive. But you don't want to finish the job, then have an exhaust leak. The O2 sensors have to be slightly fouled already, so why reinstall them, since you will eventually need to replace them? If you do decide to replace it, please chronicle the journey and take us along. A few of us would love to see photos, or even a video.
  14. That would be my concern in a snow area. I don't have snow where I live. The Transit Connect is good enough in the rain. Someone else could weigh in on how they have driven in the snow. For me, the Transit Connect is not luxury and comfort. It does not offer luxury. It's more of a vehicle which does the job. I have seating for 7. There's a lot of space. The seats fold down for the occasional trip to Home Depot or Ikea. Everyone can get in with their book bags, sports equipment, groceries, etc. The ride is bumpy. There is some road noise. The HVAC system is loud when you're trying to blow more heat or air conditioning.
  15. I guess you can start at the lamps. Pull the lamp, and check the circuit with the tester. See if you have 12v positive on both. That will eliminate half of the circuit. Then you can start checking the ground side. Circuit testers have really gone up in price. I bought one in the pre-Covid days for about $15. I guess they can blame Covid for price hikes on everything.
  16. I can't even reach the website with my computer. On my phone, it shows that the website is not secure.
  17. Get a circuit tester. Start looking for the problem. You will have to physically test the wires.
  18. Is that a good price, or is that expensive? I've never owned a diesel. I noticed that spark plugs have tripled or quadrupled in price. Or more, depending on the brand and model. A few years back, Autolite had a rebate program. $3 back per spark plug. Somehow, Amazon had a pack of 4 spark plugs for $9.64. I now have enough spark plugs to go 300,000 miles. That will never happen again in my lifetime. The current price for the same spark plugs is $29.38.
  19. How did that work out? You sold the van, and the guy wanted his money back?
  20. I like what you did with lighting. Maybe not what you had in mind. Ford did make an overhead console for middle row passengers use. I have never seen it for sale in the aftermarket. Maybe someone has that built in with their custom ordered van.
