The guys here who haul motorcycles, do it inside of the van. I don't recall if anyone tows their motorcycle with a trailer. The Transit Connect could easily tow a motorcycle trailer. If I want to go anywhere with my bike; I ride my bike. But that's a personal preference. I have a road bike. It's meant to be ridden. But I can see the benefit of having a small motorcycle or scooter in the back of the van. Then you can comfortably drive in an air conditioned van, and have your bike when you get there. If you get a motorcycle trailer, that leaves the inside of the van for other things.

It would be less expensive to install a good radio, as opposed to trying to replace it with the same unit. You won't find another one of those sold as a new radio. Your dealer could contact dealerships across the country looking for that part. Someone may have it collecting dust in their warehouse. They will charge you a lot more than it's worth. The easy solution these days, is go to Crutchfield.

Upgraded from Ford Sync 2 to Pioneer AVH - 3500 NEX

You didn't buy a wire harness? -
On older Honda models, it was pretty easy to disconnect the transmission cooling line, drain the fluid into a bucket, then fill from the fill port. It's been a few years since I had to crawl under a Honda. I don't remember a drain plug. But I do remember that plug on top. As I recall, it also needed a washer.

Welcome aboard. I'm here in The City. San Francisco. I want to be able to guess, that the aftermarket alarm is the source of your problems. If you can get it "uninstalled", and not just pull out 1 wire under the dash, and return the van to stock..... Or troubleshoot the security device, plug that wire back in, and get it to work as intended...... Some security systems disable the ignition. Maybe it's the security device that's not allowing the van to start when it's raining.

It looks bigger than the 2nd generation from Ford. Probably more reliable, better built, with a higher price tag. -

The good news is that anyone who ordered a 2022, will now get a 2023. -
Human exhaust. The stuff you breathe out.

I don't have a nice or expensive bike. I'm not as picky. I just fold the seats down, take the wheel off the bike, and put it in the back. But that's not practical if you do have a nice bike that you want transport without it moving around.

Information on ordering a '23?

If you can't order the new van that you want, this 2008 Econoline is available. -
Android Auto was supposed to be replaced by Google Assistant Drive Mode. Drive Mode has also been discontinued. Now it's unclear as to what will happen. There are countless cars built with Android Auto integrated into the OEM radio. And an unknown number of aftermarket radios with Android Auto installed. What happens next?

Android Auto is no longer supported. They just released version 8.5.

Information on ordering a '23?

Not a custom order, but if someone is willing to buy a van off the lot, there is inventory. In my area, the Ford website shows 39 available. A little sticker shock for me. The new vans are stickered at over $10,000 more than what I paid out the door in 2016. Makes me wonder if I should trade in my van, or sell it private party. -
Those sensors and their batteries can last quite awhile. My pickup is still using the original factory sensors from 2007. It's too bad that you can't change the battery. When the battery dies, you have to replace the entire unit. The old sensors were mounted to the wheel with a steel band. This requires buying a steel band kit along with the sensors. Modern sensors are coupled with the valve stem. Either way, the tire must be removed from the wheel.

It's all about the profit margins. A commercial fleet buyer who orders 100 vehicles at a time, like the telephone company or a government agency, will either buy a pickup truck or a Transit 150. Higher priced vehicles with more profit margin. Us consumers, who buy 1 vehicle at a time, will shop for whatever suits our individual needs. You may look at other manufacturers and find something more suitable for your needs. When the Rangers were discontinued, buyers went to Toyota for a small pickup truck. I'm hoping, that by the time my Transit Connect needs to be replaced, there will be another option for transporting 7 passengers at a low price. Maybe not. Who knows what the future may hold. As for today's buyer, there are still options. More expensive options. -

It's hard to understand. I'm sure that there's a bigger picture. All of these decisions are based on money. -
Hockey pucks are 1". Stack 3. 3" lift kit.
-
And it's working, based on how many people have been installing skateboard wheels in their vans. It makes more sense to drill a hole in a hockey puck, then use it as a lift kit. Works as a body spacer, and as a coil spring spacer.

I'll keep my eyes out for the van with the racing stripes. Maybe the next owner will turn up on the forum. What's your next car going to be?

You're probably right. The shop probably did nothing. Now you know the value of this particular shop.
