That almost makes me want to chop & fabricate my van into...........naw! Too much work. And it wouldn't be worth it.

the second photo shows a Transit Connect that I'm pulling up alongside of, the little subcompact car behind him which is in the traditional blindspot area that I would look over my right shoulder to check, and the Transit Connect which is following him. Looks to me like I can see just fine out of those same mirrors.

Strange. I went out and looked at my mirrors again. Then double checked as I was driving around town. I think I can see everything that I need to see; 1 & 2 lanes to the left & right of me. In the first photo, I can even see three lanes over to the Town Car, and the car in front of it which is 2 lanes over. In the 3,4,&5 photos, as I'm passing The City's Transit Connect, the 4th photo even shows the rear quarter panel and axle of the vehicle as I pull away. But if the problem is perspective, I can imagine how as you're looking in the mirror, you don't actually see the car that is right next you because you're focused on trying to see that little mirror in the corner.

You can find those mats in various levels of firmness also. I've seen them in $099 stores, Home Depot, martial arts supplies, Walm*Mart, et cetera. They are everywhere.

I've seen those around on Fish & Game trucks. I guess it would take a little getting used to the keychain remote control, and having another bulky key fob attached to your ring of keys......but that doesn't have to be the case if you don't try to carry every key in the world on one keyring. My main concern would be that it does not offer any tactical or mechanical advantage over the manual spotlight, and that with additional electronics for the remote control, that's just one more thing to go wrong. I know that I would love be standing outside of the vehicle, and be able to turn the light on and control it. But then again, if I'm in the driver's seat, I would have to either reach for the ignition where the remote is hanging off the key, or have to fumble through my pockets for the remote; which is not ideal when in pursuit.

While it's all perspective, try adjusting the mirror. I was always taught to aim the mirror just off of your car's body. If you can see your car that's just less of the road. The idea is to reflect as much of the road as possible. You will notice that in my mirror, the only visible part of my autobody is the door handle. The front bumper of that UPS truck is at my rear axle and he is just a few feet from the vehicle next to me. And the blind spot mirror shows the entire truck, which means that I can actually see a vehicle from 1 lane over, if I needed the perspective to change lanes. If you'll also notice that I can clearly see behind me alongside my vehicle, and the gap between my vehicle and the lane of oncoming traffic, which would allow me to see any oncoming bicyclist, pedestrian, or a motorcycle sharing lanes. So when you look over your shoulder and only see the inside panels of your van, all that is not visible should be in the mirror. It looks like our mirrors are similar.

There is no dipstick to check the fluid with. With other automatic transmissions, you would check the dipstick, then add fluid as needed through the dipstick tube. This vehicle's transmission is best serviced by a fluid exchange via the cooling and return lines. Add fresh fluid into the return line as old fluid comes out of the cooling line. Continue until fresh fluid exits the cooling line, which indicates that all of the used fluid has been pumped out. Since I have yet to take my transmission apart, I am under the impression that there is a screen inside of the transmission casing. Why do I think this? I don't see an external filter. You've seen on television how car builders can shape metal, mold fiberglass, and practically build whatever they can dream. It might sound crazy to find someone across the country, ship your car there, and spend a fortune. But if it's what you want, seriously, call the guys you see on television. Call Chip Foose. Call West Coast Customs. Try Galpin Ford. Or you might find a local coach builder who works on custom vans, limousines, et cetera. Is there a "tuner" shop in your area that builds "fast & furious" show cars?
