  1. The horn is under the drivers side headlight and is accessable by removing the splash panel from below the headlight. Its not to difficult. Woody
  2. It is on the firewall, behind the engine and is tough to get to. The steering rack blocks it. It is easier to get to if the vehicle is on a lift, or if the front is up on ramps or jack stands.
  3. Had a problem with condensate from the AC unit coming into the passenger side this past summer. I checked and the elbow cap was missing from covering the condenste drain tube. I solved the problem by putting s plastic elbow into the rubber tube, pointed it down, and secured it with a hose clamp. The elbow cover apparently keeps the air from blowing the condensate back into the vehicle.
  4. According to the service manual, you have to remove the bumper cover assembly. There are three bolts that hold the headlight, two below and the visable one above, disconnect the electrical coonector and thats it. The bumper cover seems a bit more involved. Remove the fender splash shields, the 5 radiator screws, the 4 bumper cover side bolts(2 each side), fender mouldings, the side marker lamp electrical connedtors, the 2 front bumper cover bolts( under the plastic covers) and take off the bumper cover. And as the manual states, to install, reverse the removal proceedure. Hope this helps. Woody
  5. I will be out allday today. I will finish packaging the rack and get a price from ups. I will get back to you tomorrow. My e-mail is JWWOODY@COMCAST.NET. Please send me your e-mail, it is much easier to communicate directly. Thanks, Woody

  6. The seats are easily removed with a torx bit(I think it is a T50). It is probably hard to find seats if you buy a cargo van. Woody
  7. The headlight switch with relay is available form RockAuto.com for $58.00. I purchased one when I was setting up my fog lights and did not use it. Reading your issues, I'm glad I have a backup. It is simple to change. Woody
  8. Over the last couple of weeks the sliding icon light came on again while driving. When the truck was shut off and restarted it reset itself. The truck was taken back to the dealer and they could not find any codes. I picked up the truck and on the way home the light came on again and reset after shutting off. The next day the light came on and I drove right to the dealer and left it with them. This time they gave me a loaner. They kept it for a week and replaced the stability control sensor pack again. The truck has 35000 miles on it and if it happens again it will probably be out of warranty. Has anyone else had issues with the traction control, roll over control or warning light icon? Woody
  9. The control module for the traction and roll over is under the console. Woody
  10. Side and rear windows screen grills are available from Inlaid or from American Van. I have them on the rear windows, more for protection from tools inside hitting the glass and I find myself hanging a first aid kit and bungees from them. Woody
  11. The anti glare coating is on the inside of the windshield. On the east coast we have "Easy Pass" transponders for the tolls. Mine is attached to the windshield right on the anti glare dots and it works fine. I don't think you will have a problem. Woody
  12. Monte; Was the cruise control on when it happened and did you hit the overdrive shut off button on the shift lever (by accident) when it happened? When I use the cruise and come to a hill with weight in the truck it does kick down to second or third gear and screams. I avoid cruise control on hilly terrain and wet roads. Woody
  13. In the compartment with the jack is an eye bolt in a cloth bag. I believe it is a reverse thread and is used as a tow hook to pull your TC on to a flat bed. Woody
  14. I was at the dealer today and they replaced the traction control sensor cluster which is under the console. The traction control light was on for a week and then went out over the weekend. The traction control, anitlock brakes and roll over control were back working. The dealer got the part on tuesday, and they agreed to change it any way and reprogram the sensors. It took about and hour and everything seems fine. While I was there I bought the day time running light module,$20.00, and popped it in. DRL works fine also. Woody
  15. The horn is under the left headlight. Remove the two push pins and screw from the splash shield and you can access the horn. Woody
  16. OVER THE WEEKEND THE SLIDING CAR ICON (TRACTION CONTROL) LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. I TESTED THE VEHICLE ON AND ICY PATCH AND SURE ENOUGH THE WHEELS SPUN. THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS NONFUNCTIONING. I RAN A SCAN WITH THE ULTRA GAUGE AND SHOWED NO CODES. I CHECKED THE FUSES AND ALL WERE OK, AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TO TRY AND RESET THE SYSTEM. THE LIGHT STAYED ON. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER TODAY AND AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS THEY TOLD ME THAT THE "STABILITY CONTROL SENSOR CLUSTER" HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE UNIT IS UNDER THE CONSOLE. THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE 5 TO 8 DAYS TO GET THE PART AND THAT THE TRUCK WAS OK TO DRIVE. I ASKED IF THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES AND ROLL OVER CONTROL WERE ALSO OFF BECAUSE OF THE BAD SENSOR. AS I FIGURED THE ANSWER WAS YES. SINCE I NEED THE TRUCK I TOOK IT AND IT DRIVES AND FEELS FINE. THEY WILL NOTIFY ME WHEN THE SENSOR IS IN AND WILL CHANGE IT AND REPROGRAM AS NECESSARY. THE VEHICLE IS 1 YEAR OLD AND HAS 21000 MILES ON IT. THIS HAS BEEN MY FIRST PROBLEM. TO ANSWER SOME POSSIBLE QUESTIONS ABOUT DISARMING THE TRACTION CONTROL, PERHAPS YOU CAN DISCONNECT THE SENSOR UNDER THE CONSOLE( OR PUT A SWITCH ON THE POWER LEG) . BUT REMEMBER YOU ALSO WILL LOOSE THE RSC AND ANTILOCK BRAKES AND THE DASH SLIDING CAR ICON WILL REMAIN LIT. I PREFER TO HAVE THESE SAFETY CONTROLS AND DEAL WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL WORKING EVEN IN THE SNOW WE HAD THIS WINTER ON THE EAST COAST. I DON'T FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING WITH THEM DISCONNECTED, BUT I WILL TEND TO BE A LITTLE MORE CAREFUL IN SOME DRIVING SITUATIONS. WOODY I'm not angry or yelling, just an old teacher and motorhead with thick glasses. Caps are easier for me to read.
  17. MRA MN; IN WITH THE JACK THERE IS A LARGE THREADED EYE BOLT. IF YOU POP OFF ONE OF THE PLASTIC CAPS ON THE FRONT BUMPER THE EYE BOLT SCREWS IN(REVERSE THREAD I THINK) AND IT IS USED FOR PULLING THE TRUCK UP ON TO A FLAT BED FOR TOWING. IT SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE USED TO PULL YOU OUT IF YOUR STUCK. THE BOLT COMES IN A LITTLE CLOTH BAG. I PUT MINE IN THE GLOVE BOX FOR EASIER ACCESS. WOODY
  18. THE XLT WAGON COMES WITH A DOUBLE AND SINGLE BACK SEAT COMBO. YOU CAN REMOVE THE DOUBLE SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER AND LEAVE THE SINGLE SEAT FOR THE SECOND CHILD, I DID THE OPPOSITE, I REMOVED THE SINGLE FOR TOOL STORAGE AND LEFT THE DOUBLE FOR MY GRANDKIDS WHEN I NEED IT. WOODY
  19. I JUST BOUGHT AND RECEIVED A SET OF DOOR POCKETS ON E-BAY. BID WAS 99 CENTS WITH SHIPPING OF $12.95. I ADDED A COUPLE OF SELF TAPING SCREWS AND BUNGEE CORDS AND THE POCKETS HOLD AERSOL CANS AND SMALL CONTAINERS. WOODY
  20. IF YOU OPEN THE FRONT DOORS AND LOOK AT THE SIDE OF THE DASH THERE ARE ACCESS HOLES TO ROUTE WIRES WITH OUT DRILLING HOLES OR FIGHTING TO GET THE DASH BOARD APART. WOODY
  21. KIETH, LOOK ON E-BAY UNDER "FORD TPMS RESET TOOL". THERE IS A USED ONE FOR $32.OO BUY IT NOW . THE NUMBER ON THE RESET TOOL THAT I USE HAS A DIFFERENT NUMBER( THE PART NUMBER IS POSTED IN THE TPMS FORUM SECTION) AND IT WORKS FINE. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS THAT I POSTED. WOODY
  22. IF YOU TAPPED INTO THE EXISTING TAIL/BRAKE LIGHT WIRING WITH OUT A HARNESS KIT THE PROBLEM IS PROBABLY A BAD OR WEAK GROUND AT THE TRUCK OR TRAILER. I PURCHASED A CURT WIRING KIT THAT JUST CONNECTS BETWEEN THE PLUGS AND THE LIGHTS AND TUCKS NEATLY BEHIND THE LEFT TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE KIT NEEDS A HOT WIRE DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY WITH A FUSE AND A GROUND HOOK UP BEHIND THE TAIL LIGHT. I NEEDED TO EXTEND THE GREEN WIRE TO REACH THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT CONNECTION, AND I KEEP THE TRAILER 4 PIN CONNECTOR IN THE TRUCK AND JUST PUT IT OUT BETWEEN THE BACK DOORS WHEN I NEED IT. THIS UNIT WORKS WELL AND THE DIRECT HOT LEAD POWER BOOSTER KEEPS THE LIGHTS FROM FADING. THE 'CONNECTOR BOX" IS NECESSARY TO CONVERT THE SEPERATE TAIL/BRAKE/SIGNAL LIGHTS TO THE DUAL SIGNAL/BRAKE LIGHT ON THE TRAILER. THERE IS NO FLASHER SPEED CHANGE AT ALL. HOPE THIS HELPS. WOODY
  23. PLEASE READ IN THE TIRE AND WHEELS SECTION FOR THE TPMS RESET PROCEEDURE, AND FOLLOW THE ROTATION STEPS IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. SINCE IF HAVE DIFFERENT WHEELS WITH DIRECTIONAL TIRES, I ROTATE MINE FRONT TO BACK ON THE SAME SIDE. I DO IT EVERY 10,000 MILES AND RESET THE PRESSURES ACCORDINGLY. WOODY
