I considered under the dash, in the clipboard compartment on the dash, and on the over head shelf. But as small as the radio is, I chose to place it on the center console instead. As for the antenna goes, I looked at all the options. I do a lot of fast food eating at night while working so I had to keep the van under the 8 foot mark. Mounting a big whip or mag mount to the roof was out. So I went with a 5/8 wave length Firestik and a trunk lid mount on the passenger side of the hood. Going out to finish up with it now and will snap a pic of it. I also considered mounting and antenna in the spot of the am/fm radio antenna. That on nver gets used as I only listen to the sat. radio. But I talked myself out of it as I have plans to possibly mount a LED light bar there.

I agree. I went with the 6K simply because anything higher than that starts moving into more blue color than brightness. 5-6K is the sweet spot of looking good, being effective for seeing, not getting tickets, and just being reasonable. Mythbusters is now a thing of the past. Was bummed when they announced it was ending. :( I want to mount a crap load of LED light bars on my van and cruise the interstates. But with my luck I would get pulled and ticketed within the first 5 feet. Might still do it. -
Dont really need a car phone. I have the shoe phone.

Adding this one just to show my sat. radio, gps, and dash cam locations. (mainly because I snapped this pic and didnt realize it some how)

Installing a CB radio and antenna in the van. Hoping this will help cut down on sitting in traffic on the interstate as well as help keep me awake during my nightly route. Will post some pictures of how everything is going as I get the work done.

Always better to have it and never need it, then need it and never have it.

Both of my 2012's came with the hook. They were in the jack compartment rolled up in a black drawstring bag.

I actually mounted it on the side of the gear shift console. But due to me ordering all of the parts at 3am after work the other night and being half asleep, I had to put the project on hold as I ordered the wrong antenna mount. :( But I managed to get the radio and microphone holder mounted and the coax ran. Will be snapping some pics when I get this done. Hoping this will help me cut down on sitting in traffic on the interstate at night, as well as help keep me awake lol. Also plan on installing some LED strip lights in the van. But I am still planning that project out in my head. Also have a brake and rotor project coming up later down the road. The van is almost paid for in full ..... Let the drilling of holes begin. -

I passed a car here in NC that was running HID's in the 15k+ color temp. range. Yes that is right, the dude had pink headlights. And I mean they were PINK !!!!! Have also seen green( was getting a ticket at the time), yellow, and purple. But the pink ones just made me LOL. Now back to installing this CB, antenna, and speaker in the van. May throw some picks up once I get this project done. -

I went with the Auxbeam F-16 Series off of Amazon. SO far I love them. As far as the rest of the lights go, I have changed all of them to LED's except the two map lights, the side turn signals, and the rear turn signals. All others have been swapped out. I have also swapped out all of the bulbs in my house and new workshop for LED's. I also have a original Streamlight Stinger converted over to LED via the terralux conversion kit, and a Streamlight Stinger DS HP LED. Fell in love with the Streamlight name brand during my time in the Fire Dept. and it just carried over to my time as a Correctional Officer for the State. I am obsessed with LED's. I love anything that runs cooler, uses less power, and last way longer. -

The camera does not do these lights justice. Have yet to see a camera that shows the true awesomeness of headlights period. But here is a short video from my dash cam with the LED's. https://youtu.be/nsfaDjwIxEk -

Trying to figure out how to post a video on here. Might have to go through youtube and just post the link. But I will get a video posted from my dash cam driving at night. I started out by running HID's for a year and a half. These things were great as long as you leave them in either low or high beam. When you start switching between the two for cars on the road, one or both will get stuck. By stuck I mean if you are in high beam and switch to low beam one light will go to low and the other will get stuck in high. Or this could be both stuck in high. Also with the HID's you have the warm up period when you turn them on. The warm up is only 20-60 seconds long and was not to much of a problem for me but could be for some. Switched over to LED's a few months ago and love them. They are instant on, do not get stuck when switching from low to high, and are just as bright as the HID's were. Also the LED's are a lot easier to install over the HID's. -
It appeared that away to me as well. But they removed the tire and checked it over to make sure it was not cracked. And it took a lot to convince me it was not cracked. lol But it is a nice deep gouge in the wheel.

Luckily I was in the store at the time it happened. I would have probably done something stupid otherwise. The igmo hit me and fled leaving no note, only damage behind. Tire shop says the tire and wheel are both good to go. Damage to the wheel is only cosmetic. Will update when I can get the the van in the air to work on it. Will be checking the ABS sensor as well as the pigtail and bearing. Van was already due for an alignment so that will be done as well. The cosmetic damage may give me a reason to upgrade the wheels again next year. lol Like I have said before, eventually something will break, just a matter of time. My radiator has developed a small leak in the drivers side lower corner. This was pre igmo hit.

Took a hard hit to my drivers side front tire today. Some igmo hit me in the Lowe's parking lot. now the traction control light is staying on. Read one post on here that says to check the magnetic ring on the bearing, so that shall be done. Anyone have any other suggestions as well ? Included a pic ofor the tire and wheel. Wheel goes to the tire shop to be checked out Monday hopefully.

I was just about to make a post on here on this very subject. Took a hard hit today and now my traction control light stays on. Will have to check the bearing as I can find no other reason for the light being on.

It is never a matter of if something is going to break. Only a matter of when is it going to break.
