Shipping time from Turkey
kmoilan1 replied to rtedgar's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Looks like it is currently in Port Hueneme, CA Last update 03/16 Estimated ETA 03/30 Depending on the time required at the upfitter the ETA will change if it isn't shipped to dealership by the 30th. Once it leaves upfitter, it may take a few days to a couple weeks depending on final delivery location. FYI, your dealership can look up the information as to the latest status. -
Locking w/ fob while still running
kmoilan1 replied to ncranchero's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs & Remote Start
With the vehicle running, try manually locking the door using the door lock (from the driver side clockwise to lock). It works on my TC. -
'bikehauler' date='03 June 2010 - 02:02 PM Ah, but which unlock button? There are two--one for the passenger doors and one for the rear doors. If one looks at the KEY FOB note the lock icon and the unlock icon . Ignore the deck release icon... %^) I do not have passenger door or rear door icons on my FOB.

Trying to find approx delivery date
kmoilan1 replied to 2011matto's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
For a search 8 digits are needed. Added AT based on other TC numbers. If correct, it is at the MODCENTER. It is showing an ETA of August 13. Depending on the final destination that date will be updated soon if it is not met. Time at the ModCenter depends on upfitting to be completed. It started the ModCenter process on July 26. Good news, it made the journey across the ocean. The dealer should be able keep you informed as to status updates. -
Wondering as to those being locked out accidently in previous topic and I too wonder many times returning to my vehicle if I actually locked my vehicle, "Did I actually just now lock my TC upon my return after not really locking it as I thought when I left?" I have the XLT Wagon with key fob. Locking sequences I have noticed... (Test for your vehicle, you may not get the same results) To lock my vehicle I have to use the key fob or any of the exterior locks by key. Locking the vehicle from the interior locks from an OPEN DOOR or by key fob, front doors and cargo doors, the system "re-unlocks" all doors. Maybe so you cannot lock your keys in the vehicle? I tried leaving the key in the ignition not running and could not lock the doors from an open door. I believe the sliders can be locked independently, child safety setting(?), but in general use the key OR fob must be used to lock the vehicle from the exterior. Once all doors are locked, the rear cargo doors can be opened by key without auto unlocking the front doors. If all doors are unlocked, all doors can be locked by key-in-lock at either cargo or front doors. If locked by way of cargo key-in-lock, unlocking at cargo using key-in-lock will only unlock the cargo doors. Note: I previously reset my keyfob to open all doors using the first button on the keyf ob. It was set from the factory to only unlock the front doors and sliders on the first button. I would have liked an audio confirmation to confirm locks are set and vehicle secured. Many times after hearing the "clunk" and walking away I wonder if it was the LOCKCLUNK or the UNLOCKCLUNK... There is a difference but when you are not consciously thinking about it along with the visual lights flashing confirmation, it requires a trip back depending on the area you are parked in. With an audio confirmation maybe it would have included an audible anti-theft system. May not stop the thief but makes the owner feel secure knowing that your fellow-man will step in and call police if you do not respond.

FYI… TC feature discovery. While at the gas station I had opened the fuel filler door to fuel my vehicle when someone asked to look at the interior of the TC. I attempted to open the right side sliding door and it stopped mid-track. I checked the upper track and found a stop that flips down when the fuel filler door is opened. It is positioned to protect the fuel filler door and fuel nozzle if inserted. If the sliding door is opened first and then the fuel door, the stop is spring loaded and is moved out of the way if the sliding door is closed while the fuel door is open. First thought the door track was damaged. There is no reference in the manual that I noticed to make one aware of this feature.

Hopefully this link will work for those interested in Transit Connect (Tourneo in this link) camping modifications. There are 8 pages with many pictures and a lot of detail pictures. The text is in Spanish but I used Google toolbar translate to get a rough translation of the Spanish. Enjoy... http://www.foro4x4.com/foro/index.php?topic=9833.0

My TC spare is painted argent / silver. The other 4 are black.. Even though the spare tire is not a temporary spare like many passenger vehicles, assuming it is because it is being used on a commercial vehicle, I don't think the spare is intended to be part of the rotation. I don't think it includes a TPMS sensor. In the manual pg 141- 142 (TPMS Tire Pressure Monitoring System) it states: WHEN YOUR TEMPORARY SPARE IS INSTALLED: When one of your road tires needs to be replaced with the temporary spare, the TPMS system will continue to identify an issue to remind you that the damaged road wheel/tire needs to be repaired and put back on your vehicle.

My guess is that is a panel that would match the style of the panels on the sliding doors. Looks like the the fastener (blind fastener) that is associated with it attaches to the back..

Including tax 24109.75. That included employee price. No tax write-off other than the government sales tax return. I am happy with my purchase and as a stock holder I am glad that Ford is holding the line on pricing with little or no incentives. We have come to expect Ford, GM, and Chrysler to offer big incentives based on past history but now they are working to sell/market with a pull strategy instead of a push strategy. Because the TC is marketed as a commercial vehicle I believe Ford can sit on these vehicles without panicking. As the customer discovers the need, many of the vehicles are a clean slate ready to be fitted to their specific requirements. The current owners will help to make or break this vehicle. I have had a lot of questions, can-I-look-insides, and I want one comments. The fact that my purchase is primarily for personal use has cleared up , "I thought you had to be a business or contractor to get one..." for a few of those interested. Maybe they will help spread the word. You have been kicking the tires long enough. You could wait till the end of the model year for possible clearance incentives but that means 4-6 months of waiting and maybe not getting it optioned to your needs. So far my TC has lived up to my expectations.

I believe you are seeing the " Ford Work Solutions - Tool Link" antenna covers.

I ordered my mats in the factory order. I have not been able to come up with a part number for the retainers apart from the mats. I noticed that the aftermarket OEM mats only have the retainer holes on the left/driver mat for the U.S. Mine have the retainer holes on both sides. I believe they are set up to install for either left or right hand drive vehicles. The base mats are larger for the Transit and are cut down for Connect installation. The retainers screw into the carpet and have a swivel at the top to secure the mats. Attached is a graphic from the installation instructions. If I come across a retainer part number I will pass it along.

or... let her drive once in a while.

Mine did come with retainers installed for both front mats. Installation notes and pics attached. Front Floor Mat Installation •Position option selected mat into appropriate foot zone, ensuring mat is against floorpan foot rest and at least 1" rearward of bottom of accelerator pedal Note: Driver side will receive the shorter mat •Mark location of lower two tab openings with a single ink dot (no larger than 1/4" in diameter) •Fold mat forward. Do not crease mat. •Screw kit provided Retainer into vehicle carpet at ink dot Note: Retainer to screw into vehicle carpet and undermat only. Do not damage underlying sheetmetal Retainers to be flush with carpet surface. •Reposition mat and engage retainers

I am guessing you have the remote entry key fob/power locks. If you do, you can set it to one step unlocking as follows and is noted in the manual page 63. Switching from two step to one step door unlocking Your vehicle comes with two step unlocking enabled. With the vehicle locked, unlocking can be switched between two step and one step door unlocking by pressing and holding both the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously on the remote entry transmitter for approximately four seconds and release. The turn signal lamps will flash twice to indicate that the vehicle has switched to one step unlocking. Repeat the procedure to switch back to two-step unlocking. Once this is done, it enables the cargo doors to unlock from the interior along with the front and sliding doors. Even though I haven't found it noted in the manual regarding this setting affecting unlocking from the interior, it has worked for me. Give it a try...

Felt the same about the wheel covers. I told my salesman, "Do not put those things on my vehicle when it comes in. Just leave them in the bag." He didn't know if there was a final sales issue with my request but he told the prep department do not install. Great salesman, he gave me what I wanted. I would like to find some Crown Vic "Hub Caps" to fit until I decide to go with some alloy wheels for summer showing. Pics sans wheel covers are in the gallery.

Regarding the defroster switch... on the XLT this switch also activates the heated exterior mirrors with the rear defroster. I am assuming you still get the upgraded heated mirrors on the XLT cargo version without the rear glass.

I have AST on my 2001 Focus AST is Auto Store of FM radio stations. For the Focus, "The FM-AST preset will store the 6 strongest stations by pressing and holding the AM/FM button until the frequency scanning is seen in the display." TP in the TC manual states: Note: If TP appears in the display, it is an indicator that RDS is active. RDS provides radio station information like identification, program info, time, etc. For some vehicles TP is a Traffic alert setting. It interrupts the station broadcast and returns to the original broadcast after the message. A reference to this feature can be found for Volvo at Page 201 http://www.volvocars.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/Owners%20Area/Know/MY06/V70/V70_XC70_owners_manual_MY06_EN_tp8170.pdf?AID=10546635&PID=3282103 Hope this will help you figure out what whether these features are available on your model and that is what is being displayed on your menu.

How long does it take to get a new transit
kmoilan1 replied to TonyC's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Mine was ordered July 14th and arrived November 9th. I am assuming the dealer could not locate one exactly like you wanted thus your order. You will get what you want not what someone else decided to order based on previous orders or what the dealership feels is safe and will eventually sell. I am glad I waited for a vehicle "built for me." To have some "FUN" and to help pass the time, get a printout of the latest Vehicle Visibility Report from the dealer. Ask for an expanded full history status printout which provides the vehicle location/date/ETA. Also ask for a complete report of a Transit Connect that the dealer has available for sale or recently sold for a timeline comparison for vehicles to their location. Depending on the upfitting ordered that is completed at the Modcenter in Baltimore, it will give you a general feel for what it will take for your vehicle. The dealer should be able to provide updates to you especially if they want to have a satisfied customer. Now for the fun part and to pass some time. Once the report shows the vehicle is in transit/shipped ocean, you will have the name of the ship your vehicle is on. You may be able to track this vessel using www.marinetraffic.com. You can also do a search with the vessel name to see what information is available. There are a couple of other tracking sites but this one seems the most complete site with vessel details, pictures, last known port, current latitude/longitude, etc. If you have more time, some more fun. I enjoy all types of photography and apparently there are a number of others out there that feel the same. The site provided vessel photo links and someone managed to take a photo of the Hoegh Kobe, the ship carrying my vehicle, off the coast of Kythira Islad, Greece during the actual transport timeline. In addition, I was able to follow the GPS tracking from Turkey to Baltimore. Technology is great. If your sales person continues to cooperate, and to carry you to the last days before receiving your TC once your vehicle leaves the Modcenter, the Vehicle Visibility report will also provide the railcar number. Yes, there are photographers out there taking pictures of various types of trains, carriers, stations and there is a railcar database out there that may have your number on it. Before you know it you will be enjoying your new Transit Connect. Be prepared to talk about and answer a lot of questions regarding your vehicle purchase. Final note... once your dealer has the VIN#, they can print out a copy of the window sticker for your vehicle for you to enjoy until... -
On the main screen at the bottom center select settings. Select DISPLAY On the display screen day/night mode select night setting button. Below on the night slider bar I am guessing your setting is to the left. Toggle until it moves to the right and you should see the radio buttons get brighter. Move until you are satisfied with setting. I have been leaving mine in night mode setting because the GPS screen does not change in auto setting at night/headlamp on and to avoid the blinding display I choose the dark background.. In auto, I believe the radio buttons at least toggle with headlamp on switch but I will have to check to be sure... If this does not work for you I will check my settings again to work out the sequence.
